The dialogue is not exactly inspiring, but there are some lovely properties featured. And yes, I'm aware of how middle-aged that makes me sound.

Aha - a Netflix alert just flashed on my phone and I thought ‘that plot sounds familiar …’. Still not quite over the trauma of the earlier film, (decades ago!) so I may give this a miss.

Stingraytail · 13/04/2023 16:04

Hope the cushion in Paris has been through the wash since they filmed that scene.

Chateaulaohshit · 13/04/2023 16:20

Binged it all today..

Very uninspiring and I found the dad really unattractive but I kept rehitting play…

cattygorically · 13/04/2023 16:22

I had to turn it off after about fifteen minutes, I really couldn't see past their cringe worthy stares at each other when they first met

darisdet · 13/04/2023 16:23

I might take a look at this. I know it's not supposed to be great...

AnnieP1 · 13/04/2023 16:53

Unintentionally hilarious!! The cushion, the cushion😂

JamSandle · 13/04/2023 17:00

It's on my watch list!

User1794537 · 13/04/2023 17:19

I have only watched episode one so far. DH was laughing from the other side of the room at all the grunting. There was a lot of hilarious gazing at each other. I will watch the rest later, it's quite short

MendaciousMabel · 13/04/2023 18:24

I've just watched the first episode and I'm so confused. Have they been having an affair prior to "meeting"?

The long staring is a bit annoying...

pumpkintits · 13/04/2023 18:26

I'm just watching the last episode now. I love Richard Armitage but he has given me the heeby jeebies in this.

I know it's fiction but when Anna and William first met, who acts like that?! No one. No one ever. I'm seeing it through but not impressed.

ICriedAllTheWayToTheChipShop · 13/04/2023 19:59

It's really, really bad. Terrible dialogue, awful acting from people who are usually good, and all the daft grunting. And yet I seem to be on episode three somehow...

Pouffeycat · 13/04/2023 21:54

It's tripe.
There is absolutely no chemistry between any of them.
The music is awful...
Watched the whole thing..while sniggering at his completely unsexy arse.😁
If you need a brainless afternoon.
This is it.

Sunnysunbun · 13/04/2023 21:55

Richard Armitage seemed a bit off. He's usually quite hot. I thought it was dreadful. But yes nice properties.

Blahdeblahaha · 13/04/2023 22:04

Richard Armitage is gorgeous, but yes the cushion scene just reinforces why I always take 'decorative' cushions and throws off hotel room beds as soon as I get there and shove them in a cupboard.
I agree that the properties are beautiful especially the flat belonging to her friend...anyone living with a communal stairway like that is very lucky.

User1794537 · 13/04/2023 22:04

Well, that's about 3 hours I won't get back

User1794537 · 13/04/2023 22:06

Was there no one else living in those flats, they seemed desolate and no one appeared during all the dashing about and so on

mischlerischler · 13/04/2023 22:08

Watched it today. Very disappointing.

myheartmyhead · 13/04/2023 22:14

Was watching episode 1 on my laptop, ds(14) watching the footy on tv next to me... happened to look over when rich was walking round with his little Rick out.... you can imagine the conversation!

Windywuss · 13/04/2023 22:20

Omg... I feel quite embarrassed for Richard Armitage. I don't understand how actors can do this kind of work. Do they think it's art? I mean how can he have read the script about the cushion and think, yeah I'm fine with that. Confused

iwantavuvezela · 13/04/2023 22:28

watched one episode - not sure I'll watch anymore

MuddlerInLaw · 13/04/2023 22:36

All of you hiding behind a cushion but watching to the end - loving your work! Grin

Sunnysunbun · 13/04/2023 22:43

The review of it in The Guardian by Lucy Mangan is very funny.
Richard Armitage needed to have a few carbs and better dialogue. How did they get it so wrong. It was as sexy as beige carpet.

Blahdeblahaha · 13/04/2023 22:58

Oh yuck on continuation of watching (whilst scrolling on MN) I take back my comment about the stairwell...not lucky at all. I still like Richard Armitage though (when he hasn't got red bloodshot eyes)

M0nica44 · 13/04/2023 23:12

Just finished it... I actually have no words for so much of what i have just seen... And yet i couldnt switch it off either. So many questions too... Won't post my qus, don't want to spoil the 'magic' for anyone who hasn't seen it... 🤔

EmmaEmerald · 13/04/2023 23:24

Oh I thought it looked familiar.

Now I just want to find out what happens to the cushion!

i remember that block of flats was almost empty in the original, there were builders working there.
