The dialogue is not exactly inspiring, but there are some lovely properties featured. And yes, I'm aware of how middle-aged that makes me sound.

RA is hot, but just reading this has put me right off watching this. I actually thought the trailer looked good, but I guess it's all down hill from there.

Have seen that initial meeting scene and yes, very annoying and bizarre. I think we've all had moments of intense, out of the blue attraction, but you don't just stare at each other and start hand feeding bar snacks!

I think I saw at least some of Damage by mistake when I was a kid 😬 I remember thinking WTF a lot! There was one scene when they were angrily rolling around on the floor in this weird, entangled sex ball. I'm not sure I'd see this as any less weird as an adult 🫣😂

DP and I started watching this. I told him that I'd seen the original when I was too young to 'get' that kind of sexual obsession and found it really weird. We tried watching the first episode and I decided that I wasn't too young at the time it was just a stupid plot. Nobody develops such an intense attraction at first sight to their son's girlfriend to the extent they start a torrid affair with almost no build up. It's completely mad. Serial shaggers might, as they are entitled, possibly sociopaths and always think they will get away with it, but normal happily married family men just don't behave like that. I can now say that with the wisdom of my 42 years and many torrid relationships of my own!!

Finished it today. Utterly cringe. Couldn’t believe how unobservant RA’s family were when he was sitting glowering at the engagement celebration meal and hardly saying anything.

There was no build up in Damage either lol
But it was more convincing. When he goes give me your address on the phone.
Nothing else 😵
A few looks previously was all it took to assume she wanted sex with him.

Ps in the film He was a minister not a surgeon. Came across as typical political having an affair whenever that just so happened to arrive! Had a driver also.. very upper middle class.

I was also surprised that straight after the conjoined twins separation he buggered straight off to the country. Wouldn’t he need to be on call in case there were post operative complications?

Sexiest bit was the properties.

Sex seemed to have no foreplay. Characters had no development. Without creating build up and tension, the whole thing seemed flat. The sex and emotions looked ridiculous with no backstory of the characters’ inner lives.

Don't agree- I think it's more a question of acting ability. You only have to watch Daniel Craig in The Mother, doing a sterling job of having a steamy affair with Anne Reid in her mid/late sixties. I sort of watched it through my hands a bit, but I saw DC in a whole new light. He was very good....
