According to the article I just read, Derek Thompson has come up with the idea for his exit himself!

Whatthetrolley · 30/05/2023 11:59

You are the first people I thought of when I read the news!!

Ballsaque · 30/05/2023 12:17

@Whatthetrolley same 😂

Oh good grief!! This is going to be spectacular (but not necessarily in a good way!) 😆

Namechange9625 · 30/05/2023 12:33

At last he's leaving!! This is going to be amazing and awful at the same time if he's designed his own demise

Quia · 30/05/2023 13:15

I know it's boring, but I'd like Charlie just to say "I've been here a million years, I want to retire now," and then just slip off and do the gardening till maybe he turns up back in A&E dying of old age.

PortalooSunset · 30/05/2023 13:49

Just read this "He will be filming until the autumn, with Charlie's final scenes airing early next year."

So near and yet so far..

He probably will do that just to spite us all

SgtCatherineCawood · 30/05/2023 14:11

This is the quote from the article. What made me laugh most is the quote about it being too good to pass up. I did wonder if he meant the storyline or him actually leaving 🤣🤣

Jon Sen, executive producer of Casualty, said they used to joke that after Fairhead's long and dramatic career in the NHS there was not much that he hadn't seen.

"It was an amazing surprise to me when Derek arrived with a brilliant idea for Charlie's exit as part of an upcoming storyline, which was too good to pass up," Sen said. "We will all miss Derek enormously. "

Dinopawus · 30/05/2023 14:31

I'm not sure that Charlie front and centre is a dramatic story line to be honest...

Why not let him leave and do some volunteering somewhere where he'd have occasional cameos.

It would have been better if Charlie had gone off without a fuss when there was that mass resignation of nurses a couple of weeks (months?) ago. He hasn't carried a front and centre-stage story since Duffy died.

purpleme12 · 03/06/2023 23:14

She said I looked like one of the Cores, I asked which one, she said Jim
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really made me laugh that

purpleme12 · 03/06/2023 23:15

*Corrs, not Cores

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2023 11:24

Behind as been away on holiday

Why didn't she call the police

Rather then rida

Or stay in the loo /go the bar

Rather then go outside

And yes surely the bouncer would have said are you ok /checked the cubicle

Disappointed that Jodie and Cam got off with each other.
And I thought he was being a bit creepy
