Bomb squad protection usually involves more than army uniform and a balaclava. Also if putting it in the wheelie bin full of water was going to work why didn't they wheel the wheelie bin closer to them rather than making them walk to it?

I hope we don't see Jed again I didnt find him charming like we were obviously supposed to.

I thought thay, they could have put the bin just outside the resus doors if they didn't want to take it in, not the half a mile away that it was! Or maybe that was as far as the hose from the fire engine could reach?!

LIZS · 20/05/2023 20:51

Was there a nightclub doping storyline with the last batch of nurses?

Namechange9625 · 20/05/2023 21:10

How many doping stories do they need to do and Isn't it time faith left?

MadisonAvenue · 21/05/2023 01:42

LIZS · 20/05/2023 20:51

Was there a nightclub doping storyline with the last batch of nurses?

Wasn’t it Jade who it happened to on that occasion and Faith helped her?

spiderlight · 21/05/2023 12:09

Yes, I think it was Jade, and it wasn't that long ago, so I'm not sure why they've done basically the same storyline again.

I know it seems lazy to just do the same stories again and again. Someone on the production team seems to have a thing about drink spiking.

LouisCatorze · 21/05/2023 20:27

Casualty is perhaps taking on a not-so-subtle public information film role. I guess drink spiking (dangers of) is something that needs reinforcement repeatedly to young people. Not that they'll be watching Casualty...

I'd forgotten about Jade getting her drink spiked. That was a few years ago, surely?

AnImaginaryCat · 21/05/2023 20:52

One thing about this episode was it made me really like Rida. Which is good as the number of likable characters was getting low!

Quia · 22/05/2023 01:05

What was the prosecution that they're not proceeding with all about?

EBearhug · 22/05/2023 01:36

The bloke who raped Faith - he turned up in hospital a few weeks ago needing treatment and she recognised him, so made a complaint, which was why she turned to drugs, but now it's all fine. Or something.

Was there drink-spiking involved there too? Or was she just very drunk? I don't remember (or much care...)

She was really not over Lev at the time and didn’t really want to sleep with this guy because of that but at the same time did want to sleep with him because she didn’t want to be not over Lev (!) and he offered her some drugs to help ease her nerves. She said no, and he was like - fine, I’ll go and leave you in peace but then she decided she would take the drugs (I don’t know what they were: something in a little bottle??) to help her relax and it worked and they had consensual sex. But later that night she woke up to him wanting to have sex again, which she didn’t want, and that was when he raped her.

At least, I think that’s what happened. They do do this type of sexual assault repeatedly: remember Alicia and Eddie? That was a consensual sex followed by rape as well.

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 01:46

I'm 20 minutes in and this is really scary

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 02:20

It is a bit odd that they did the same storyline again but I found it really scary watching both times

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 02:21

And also I love Rida

And never liked Max since he came in and still don't at all

JustDanceAddict · 24/05/2023 07:16

I thought they did this spiking story well with the slightly geeky guy being the bastard and not the ‘lad’ who you’d expect it to be.
Rida did appear from pretty much nowhere though after getting changed, leaving work etc.
Also looks like Barney Walsh(!) could be on to Faith.

TrashyPanda · 24/05/2023 09:25

We had the “medical professional abusing Valium” with Connie not that long ago.

seems the SW are raking through old eps for ideas.

LouisCatorze · 24/05/2023 13:19

Oh, I'd forgotten about that @TrashyPanda . A bit lazy of them to repeat both storylines.

Also, it's strange that no one has noticed that the ED is getting through Valium supplies super speedily. Presumably, the hospital pharmacy would reconcile prescriptions vs the number used (and notice a discrepancy?)

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 15:39

Do you mean diazepam

TrashyPanda · 24/05/2023 15:43

Valium is another name for diazepam

Quia · 24/05/2023 15:44

Max's attitude to the new nurses in the last episode seemed to be seriously unprofessional. Surely as clinical lead he has a responsibility to treat them fairly and make sure they get proper training and experience? He was really bloody rude to them, repeatedly. And he shouldn't be jumping to conclusions about patients either, even if they are his underlings/relatives.

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 15:51

Oh right I thought they were two different things!

Hellocatshome · 24/05/2023 15:59

I didnt find it scary so much as annoying. I think after such a storyline they should at least give information on the best thing to do in that situation I.e not shut yourself in the toilets where you could stop breathing and no one would find you. If she could text "help me" to Rida she could have said or typed "help me" to the bar staff which would have been far more productive.

purpleme12 · 24/05/2023 16:00

I was willing her to tell her staff or something there yes

I really really dislike him and have done since he came in
