I agree ,they could have handled the spiking storyline differently.

I was in a pub a few weeks ago and in the ladies toilet there was a poster to ask the bar staff for "Angela" if you find yourself in an awkward/uncomfortable situation and need help.
Bar staff will take you somewhere safe .

(I don't go to pubs very often ...not for any other reason apart from lack of social life 😅!)

Just wondering how well known it it is .

I presume all pubs/nightclubs/bars or whatever do it ?

If it is universal it might have been good to show that ?

They do like their public announcement episodes !

bizzey · 24/05/2023 22:52

She could have still been taken to the hospital for Max to have his show down with her !

TrashyPanda · 24/05/2023 23:01

why she didn’t ask somebody in the club for help? Like another female.

and why just text Rida? Especially when she got no reply. Doesn’t she have any other pals?

it was a bit superficial.

I don’t like Max either!

Casualty staff have a habit of being publicly demeaning to their juniors. In Classic Casualty we’ve been seeing Charlie’s bullying of Jade and Connie’s treatment of Archie.

LouisCatorze · 25/05/2023 09:26

@TrashyPanda yes, she had so many opportunities to get help from someone in the club. Also, nowadays with people generally being more aware of drink spiking, you'd have thought someone would have asked her if she was okay.

Walkingtheplank · 26/05/2023 23:11

Silly woman - why didn't SHE act differently?

Whilst drugged why didn't she think to ask someone, call someone.

The whole point is that she was incapacitated.

Please stop victim blaming.

EBearhug · 26/05/2023 23:16

Not her so much, but the pub staff person who stopped the bloke from getting at her in the pub loos - he didn't seem to follow up with anything like, "are you okay in there, do you need help?" which would have been an obvious question to me.

TrashyPanda · 26/05/2023 23:17

It’s a drama, not real life.
it was written that way for a purpose, to have Rida come to the rescue.

exciting news for Classic Casualty lovers - Drama are starting way back (almost) at the beginning, with season 1, episode 2 on Monday morning! No idea where ep 1 went, or why they have stopped 2/3 of way through season 34, but there you go.

relive the days of Earth Plimmer and Megan Roache. Marvel at Duffys accent (based on the Cadbury’s Caramel bunny, I do believe). See a young Robson Greene and be stunned at Charlie’s full head of hair. Was his acting as bad then as it is now? Watch and see.

TrashyPanda · 26/05/2023 23:18

*Ewan, not Earth

purpleme12 · 26/05/2023 23:20

What do you mean based on the cadburys caramel bunny 🤣

TrashyPanda · 26/05/2023 23:38

She put on this really bad fake accent, just like the Cadburys bunny.

then it just disappeared.

just remembered - when Casualty began, they were all on permanent nightshift and Charlie was a union rep. And he wore a lab coat with short sleeves. Ewart Plimmer wore a tweed jacket.

don’t ask me how or why I remember these things

purpleme12 · 27/05/2023 00:05

Ah I was too young to watch it from the beginning.
My earliest memory is of Jude and Megan.
So I know I must have watching it when I was 12 (but possibly before then but I'm not sure)

purpleme12 · 27/05/2023 00:08

Sorry I don't mean Megan, I mean Eve.
Too young for Megan!

Episode 1 series 1 was yesterday following the 2 part finale of season 33 on Wednesday/Thursday. I assume drama do not have the rights yet for season 34.

Quia · 27/05/2023 11:09

Could be interesting to play the game of spotting the now-famous star in one of their first roles as patient or interfering relative. Episode 1 is available on UK TV - https://uktvplay.co.uk/shows/classic-casualty/watch-online

bizzey · 27/05/2023 16:05

I record Classic Casualty though I am behind on watching it at the moment .

Friday's episode came up separately to my main recording thing so I watched thanks to this thread

Duffy's accent was painful 🤣🤣!

Dinopawus · 27/05/2023 21:03

Grrr - Donna pull your sleeves up. Bare below the elbow means you too.

Namechange9625 · 27/05/2023 21:09

Is Jacob going to be the next one to spiral with his mental health and end it all?

TrashyPanda · 27/05/2023 22:20

Just watched ep 1. Boy, it was really bad.

I had forgotten Charlie put on a fake accent too. Of course, he’s from a BeLfast originally.

daffodilandtulip · 27/05/2023 23:24

Tonight's was like they remembered they had other cast members and thought they'd chuck them in for a minute.

TrashyPanda · 28/05/2023 00:01

Tonight made me laugh after seeing episode 1…

I had totally forgotten Jans ex was originally a paramedic back in the day. Guess the casting crew weren’t aware that had already had a big part in the show.

another continuity error - Charlie went on about his mum, who was clearly still alive. Funny how we had a tedious ep years later all about how she died when he was a kid. Whooops!

Peachyqueen · 30/05/2023 10:51

I just came here to post this too! I honestly thought he'd only leave in a box.

I’ve just come in to say the Charlie news too!! I wonder how he’ll go.

SgtCatherineCawood · 30/05/2023 11:45

I've just come on to say this as well 🤣🤣🤣
