I was sure it was Adrian Dunbar too! If I hadn't read this post I still would think that, especially with all the 'For the purposes of the tape' stuff.

The voice did sound like Liam Neeson now that you mention it.

Overall I have to say I didn't think this episode was great. Definitely not as good as the last series. The humour seemed a bit stilted at times. Almost as if I could see the jokes.

I thought the story line was crap. Hope the rest of the series perks up.

I watched the first half but didn’t love it. Was telling DH beforehand that he’d like it but I’m not sure that would have persuaded him, though the soundtrack was a winner. There’s a bit of overacting from a couple of the leads that I wish they’d tone it down a bit. Michelle’s brilliant though, she has great potty mouthed comic timing. The adults are great (I know they are all adults think Claire’s played by a 34 yo!)

Love it overall. But why do Erin & Clare have to overact at that panic level all the time.

The Uncle is great. Even if he’s a Father Ted rip off!

Agree about the overacting.

I wonder if the fact that the actresses are grown women playing teens contributes to it? Maybe they think that's how 17 year olds should act? It wasn't such a problem in previous series however.

So disappointed and we have been counting the days too. It was very forced, not the freshness of the other two series. Hoping it will settle down.

I found Erin head-wrecking.

It was ... grand. But their characters seemed just a bit jaded & stereotypical, even the lovely & wonderful Sr Michael.

The Liam Neeson scenes were v dull.

Loved it - especially cutting to Colm boring the police officers half to death about the Spanish Armada man ‘and the story didn’t add up’ 🤣🤣

Not a classic episode like some from seasons 1&2 but not every episode can be a classic!

The Jewish Catholiccfrom Ballymena! Diego from the Spanish Armada! And we gave a Seamus.and the analogy of Seamus getting mixed up in the IRA. Maybe u have to be from NI to get the full humour. Watching it on record again .Cannot get enough of this series.

The comedian who plays Uncle Colm has been doing that monologue style for years, wistful pondering on and on about the minutiae of life. Kevin McAleer. I remember him doing a monologue (90s) on being ‘lifted’ by the British Army in south Tyrone, and as they shouted ‘who are you?!’ he riffed on it as an existential question on the human condition.

Having never seen the series, I was looking forward to it from people raving about it. All the comedy bits were in the adverts and rest was blah IMO. Maybe I'm too old as an early 40's, and maybe I was expecting more? A few laughs, yes, but overall not for me.
