Starts on Friday on Amazon Prime, with Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and other well-known names.

Trailer and review makes it sound intriguing and I love the first season of Big Little Lies so I'll definitely be watching!

Please tell me the book has a decent ending and that they will at least try to do the same for the tv series.

Newgirls · 15/09/2021 14:39

I remember the ending of the novel and thinking ‘this would be better on tv’

I thought footballer was on meds in the novel? Because of his injury?

User646326712 · 15/09/2021 19:18

Well, I'm on 7 and its nothing like the book. Even the car Delilah drives off in isn't the same one!!

Pootle40 · 15/09/2021 20:12

The tv show is actually quite good. I am pleasantly surprised as the book was shite. Hope her new book is better.

faithfulbird20 · 16/09/2021 12:36

@SequinsandStiIettos thank you. The latest episode makes up for the slow burners. Omg Carmel was scary in the last scene!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2021 13:55

Downloaded and will watch tonight

SequinsandStiIettos · 17/09/2021 01:53

Reason is no match for pain.

Very good line.

Well, one episode left and I can safely say, the adaptation has been better than the book.

faithfulbird20 · 17/09/2021 04:33

One episode seems very less in tying everything up. I wonder how they'll end it.

Egghead68 · 17/09/2021 04:58

At least something happened this episode.

garlictwist · 17/09/2021 05:05

I read the book and it was horrendously farcical and bad. So I don't think I will be watching.

50ShadesOfCatholic · 17/09/2021 05:44

I enjoyed the book and was disappointed by the TV adaptation. Felt Zoe and the other young woman (forgot her name already) were perfectly cast but that Melissa McCarthy was all shades of wrong. In essence the very Australian-ness of it, which came through in the characters, was completely lost. Gave up

DH has just pointed out something I hadn’t thought about. Masha has taken the drugs so maybe she is hallucinating Carmel as her shooter.
Though did make me jump!

I'm really enjoying it & actually think NK's immovable face is fine in this. I do agree with PP though that Jodie Comer would have been perfect in the role.

KillingMeDeftly · 18/09/2021 19:46

I think her face actually works in this as Marsha is meant to be a bit not of this world.

JacquelineCarlyle · 18/09/2021 19:51

I agree @KillingMeDeftly

Ulysses · 19/09/2021 07:25

I'm up to date with it all and am enjoying it. There's enough diversions from the book to make me wonder where it will go and we know enough about the characters to care what happens to them. I thought the scene between Masha and Frances was very touching.

duvetdrama · 19/09/2021 12:26

I think episodes 6 and 7 have been by far the best. I wonder what Masha did to Carmel after that...

HarrisonStickle · 19/09/2021 23:07

I read the book and have stuck with this, but I'm getting bored now.

Did what happened in the book really only take up a little bit of space at the end? If there's really only one episode left, it seems a tight squeeze to tie it all up.

SequinsandStiIettos · 20/09/2021 00:24

It can be done I'm an hour they could have probably done the whole book in two

EccentricaGalumbits · 20/09/2021 01:25

I haven't read the book or anything Liane Moriarty but have been enjoying this series, mostly for the acting I think. I could take or leave Masha and her story arc but the others are really interesting.

They've done a good job of creating a slightly trippy feel and a sense of impending doom, especially in the latest episode. Really looking forward to seeing how things finish.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2021 07:31

It looked like a man shooting

Will need to check

So yes prob the drugs

Glad Delilah got away.

So they have huge electric gates but cross a field and you can climb over a fence

Or ram it in a car

Lars seems a goodie

We didn’t see bearded bloke negan look alike this episode

charliebear78 · 20/09/2021 12:06

I have really got into it these last two episodes was about ready to give up at one point.
It's the acting and I like the humor in it too.

Only ever seen Melissa playing the crass big girl in films before but she is great in this and so pretty.

Tony was in this episode.
Definitely a bloke with stubble that shot masha.

I also remember watching xanadu
When I was alot younger and loved all things oliva Newton John.. so enjoyed carmel dancing along!
