Thanks Jane

Love the title.

Yes let's power on through what should be the best part of the year over the next few weeks tennis-wise!

PrivateSpidey · 02/05/2020 12:26

Sorry I think I just made myself feel worse by saying that

Thread title not working great so far SadGrin

Grin reverse psychology hasn't worked so far eh?!

I watched "If" and that made me emotional as well! Then it automatically played Fed v Sampras 2001, so I'm now watching that. Which is good. What a great tournament that year

magimedi · 02/05/2020 12:54

Well, the title made me laugh. Nice one, Jane.

Raahh · 02/05/2020 13:29
Grin

Love the title.

Fizzywinegum · 02/05/2020 13:47

Thanks for the new thread Jane and for posting Roger and Rafa reading If.

I think that has to be my favourite Rafa period with the long hair and sleeveless top . I like him now though of course Grin

I’ll try not to talk too much about food shopping and flour on this thread - I think that’s what filled the last one up Blush

magimedi · 02/05/2020 15:51

Fizzy You can talk about whatever you want - the beauty of the internet is we don't have to answer {grin}

(But I find food/flour pretty engrossing atm)

Fizzywinegum · 02/05/2020 16:59

Thanks magi - food and flour are about the only things occupying me at the moment. I’ve ordered some bread flour and yeast that I can collect on Tuesday - I’m beyond excited!

Just been on my walk and said hello to the alpacas Smile

DramaAlpaca · 02/05/2020 17:06

Here's another Alpaca popping in to say hello Smile

I was tempted in by the title (nice one JaneJeffer) and just had to post to say hello when I saw Fizzywinegum's great picture Grin

Hope you're all coping with lockdown and not getting too fed up with the lack of tennis.

JaneJeffer · 02/05/2020 17:20

Drama do you have an alpaca alert on your phone? Grin

One of the supermarkets here is bagging up flour which must have been intended for restaurants.

DramaAlpaca · 02/05/2020 17:53

Jane sadly no, just spending far too much time on here these days Grin

I'd give anything for a bag of bread flour. I am obsessed with it at the moment. I found one pack of yeast, and other types of flour have started to appear, but no strong white. It doesn't help that of course I can't travel out of our village so only have two small supermarkets to shop in.

Raahh · 02/05/2020 18:00

Aww, I love Alpacas. The local farm has some. They are gorgeous.

I am beyond excited, because the heron is back at the park I take the dog to. Well, it might be a different heron. But, it's still a heron. Scary, beady eyed thing. Grin. But I love seeing it. And the water rats.

What has my life become???! Grin. I've never been so fascinated by wild life before Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 02/05/2020 18:12

Glad that the picture made you come and say hello Drama Smile

Im getting my bread flour from a local bakery where you can order online and collect - it’s definitely in short supply though.

We’ve been seeing a heron on some of our walks Raahh - I too get excited when I see a heron - not sure about water rats though Hmm

PrivateSpidey · 02/05/2020 18:42

polishes 'I love AC' badge
Grin

I thought that was kazza's Raahh?!

Love the photo Fizzy. And all the wildlife updates. AC would be proud!

Hi Drama lovely to hear from you on here. Such a shame we won't have any tennis to chat about for the foreseeable. Although I do think we'll see some domestic/behind closed doors tournaments Tim's underground car park

DramaAlpaca · 02/05/2020 18:43

Oh I love herons. I regularly see them round here, patiently waiting for an unsuspecting fish, or flying overhead.

A farm not too far from us uses a llama (I think, it's quite big) as a guard for his sheep. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw it. If you go for a walk round there the locals warn you not to get close as it's a grumpy bugger and once chased an elderly man and his little dog off the land. So we give it a wide swerve. I feel a bit sorry for it being on its own, I doubt sheep are much company.

Raahh · 02/05/2020 18:53

Spidey maybe I need to hide the badge Grin

PrivateSpidey · 02/05/2020 19:06

Yes maybe you'd better Grin

I ended up watching a few old matches earlier, including the 2008/9 men's finals - AC was commentating and he didn't seem as waffly as he does now Confused

Although it was only highlights so maybe they edited out the butterfly comments etc?!

Drama I love the sound of the guard alpaca, although it does sound like a bit of a sad existence. Maybe he might revolt and take over the farm, like in Shaun the Sheep Grin

Raahh · 02/05/2020 19:17

I ended up watching 'You Got Mail' earlier, for the umpteenth time, even though it is rubbish, and not a patch on 'The Shop around the Corner'. And the soundtrack irritates me. But I couldn't be bothered moving. Grin.

I am slowly turning into a short, hairy, jabba the hut.

kazzaD66 · 02/05/2020 19:19

Oh, for goodness sake! I'm sitting here, finishing my vino before dessert, and the mood is broken because the butterfly fancier is mentioned Angry

I do like an alpaca.
And I luvs Shaun the Sheep! Absolutely brilliant, on so many levels Grin

Raahh · 02/05/2020 19:22

Shaun the Sheep is wasted on children. It is one of those programmes I will watch when no-one else is around.

kazzaD66 · 02/05/2020 19:22

I used to have a haircut a bit like Meg Ryan. But not quite as good as her's Confused
Very jealous Grin

kazzaD66 · 02/05/2020 19:26

We used to watch Shaun the Sheep with DS when he was much younger, when it was a 5 minute programme on the BBC, before the films. We all used to laugh and enjoy it, but maybe DH and I were laughing for a slightly different reason to DS Grin

Raahh · 02/05/2020 19:31

kazza so much goes over the headsof the children in a lot of tv shows. I also watch 'Hey Duggee'. I am not ashamed to say I find this hilarious, even though I am 48, and this is aimed at pre-schoolers, and my youngest is 9. It has gay crabs in it! (One is called Nigel). Grin
