GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8. Possible spoilers

Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

I’m counting down the days, I’ve read every spoiler going and it looks like it’s going to be epic!

Apparently someone has leaked details of the first episode. Does anybody know where to find this? I love a good spoiler! So excited!!!

So many questions after reading the spoiler!

I keep going back to the trailer with Arya running in fear. For some reason I think this may be later in the season. But WHAT could make Arya SO scared?

The Others.

In that clip when Arya is scared I think I notice a giant figure behind her (like blocking off most of the tunnel giant) ...I mean it could just be the smoke from the white walkers but...I'm thinking that it is either a white that is a giant or...maybe a giant white spider (old nan mentions the white walkers had those). I could also see her having that reaction if it was a dead dyer wolf. I just think it's not human, judging by her fear.

That would be scary.

I'm rewatching the last season this week in preparation!

I have forgotten that whole season.

Did anyone see the Thronecast War Room last night? I wish Jamie East was the main presenter. Bloody sick of Sue Perkins and her mates, especially Jonathan Ross, using the show as a vehicle for their weak ass 'humour' and innuendoes.

Only Lauren Laverne had anything interesting to say and Ross kept speaking over her. Just like on his chat show, he has to be the one who speaks, even over his guests!

I may be a little precious about GoT but I feel the show needs a more serious approach to the analysis, the comedy schtick just doesn't work for me, or match the mood of the show.

There was so much unnecessary and unfunny vulgarity.

Ross is just do cringe, he's become a dirty old man. I get that he knows his thrones and that's why he is on a lot of these but...man is he inappropriate. There was a quiz show on a few weeks back with him on it and he made it so uncomfortable :/

Yes, Tea I saw that quiz also, and he was incredibly inappropriate, using any opportunity to turn the chat to something sexual. He is an embarrassing dirty old man. 😦

Am just bored with Sue Perkins constant references to fancying Lena Headey. We get it, you're a lesbian, could you just get on with the show?

Thanks for the link Mumanddadtoone. All looks very typical ‘episode 1’ content - lots of going back over what happened last season. At least we don’t have to see Ed Sheeran again!

It all sounds a bit predictable so far. Lots of ‘faux conflict’ between female characters which will lead to nothing. The most interesting part is the revelation to Sam about Dickon’s execution - I think this will be relevant (I thought so back in S7 when it happened).

So, what order do we think the dragons will die in? My guess is Drogon, Viserion (again) and then Rhaegal.

What about Tyrion surviving the series? My guess is no.

sweetsummerchild I don’t think Tyrion will survive the series either, can’t wait to find out what was said during his conversation with Cersei at the end of last season. Is he going to betray Dani?
I hope Jon and Arya survive, would like Tormund, the hound, Jorah, Sam and Davos to make it too but doubt that many characters will survive until the end.

Defo think Jorah won’t make it. Dany will put on her ‘sad face’ when he dies

The only two characters that are guaranteed to survive are Gilly and the baby that never gets any older.

I think Sansa is more likely to survive than Arya. I hope they both survive, but I can’t see it.

I think Sam will survive, to tell the story....

I would like both Stark sisters to triumph, however unlikely, but especially Arya. She was so young when terrible things happened to her and I love how resolute she has been in avenging her family.

I keep looking at my calendar, how can it not be Sunday already!!

I think they will all be goners and the very last scene will be the throne room looking like it did way back in dannys visions (half the ceiling missing, ash/snow falling into it) and on the throne will be jon snow, sitting silently, with his eyes shut. And the camera will pan in on him and he will suddenly open his eyes and - they'll be blue. Then it'll all cut to black.

I really want to put a cheeky wee bet on this time round but I haven't seen anywhere advertising odds. There are old stats from years ago like 'who will sit on the throne at the end of the season' ect...but you'd think there would be new ones by now.
