Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

Yes, and I think it'll be seen in a positive light with the Northerners and goes some way in her earning their trust. She joined the fight and she lost so much doing so. I doubt they'll still be quite as suspicious of her now. Not as much.

@Decormad38 the three eyed raven was a greenseer man who appears to Bran (as a raven) in his psychic visions, first happening after his accident. He guides Bran to the cave beyond the wall where the wights can't go because the magic that revived them doesn't work in there.

Basically I think Bran is supposed to be the new 3 eyed raven. But the original one is capable of time travel and uses this to take Bran back in time so he sees that Jon was really a Targaryen and also that he was given to Ned to take care of. He also shows Bran how the white walkers came to be in the first place.

Decormad38 · 05/05/2019 06:16

Yes the babies. I wondered about the babies. Plus how did the babies get changes when they weren’t even dead? Were the babies then just carried everywhere? What use is a fighting baby?

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/05/2019 07:50

Or did they grow up to be the NK's white walker generals? And if so do they then stop ageing after a certain amount of time?

WhoKnewBeefStew · 05/05/2019 07:53

I’m confused, (easy I know), but why did the night king want Bran dead?

ElektraLOL · 05/05/2019 08:05

This is one of my all time favourite GOT moments 😂

ElektraLOL · 05/05/2019 08:06

@WhoKnewBeefStew - it's because Bran is now the 3 eyed raven and is therefore omniscient.

Firefliess · 05/05/2019 08:07

why did the knight king want Bran dead?

I think it was because the knight king's ambition is to obliterate all life. And the raven stores memories of life so to kill life he needs to kill it. Or something like that. I was confused about that too and that's what DH said, and he's read all the books, backstory, etc

BlackCatSleeping · 05/05/2019 08:08

Something about him being a vessel of memories for mankind. Confused

I suspect the story of the Nk and the children of the forest will feature more in the prequel and not in the current series.

ElektraLOL · 05/05/2019 11:26

Oh there is going to be a prequel??!

BlackCatSleeping · 05/05/2019 12:07

I read they are working on a pilot for the prequel but it's set thousands of years before the current series, so it's possible the whole story about the Night King and how he came about will feature which may give more insight into what he did with the babies. I don't think it's definite that it will be picked up, but given the popularity of GoT, I think it's a strong possibility.

Not long now until the next episode. I hope it's not another 2 quiet episodes with one final exciting episode.

ElektraLOL · 05/05/2019 12:21

Well we haven't seen much of Cersei yet - I wonder what she's plotting?

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/05/2019 12:57

Suddenly her plan to sit out the battle with the NK isn't looking so stupid...

BlackCatSleeping · 05/05/2019 13:52

And what of the baby? Apparently she has been shown chugging wine again, so who knows?

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/05/2019 14:44

Yes but I'm sure NHS guidelines re alcohol in pregnancy aren't really known in Westeros!

BlackCatSleeping · 05/05/2019 15:00

I think she refused wine in season 7, but has started drinking again in season 8, which has led to speculation she has lost the baby, but I have no idea.

TheweewitchRoz · 05/05/2019 18:06

Excited for tonight - hope it's not so dark!

ElektraLOL · 05/05/2019 20:06

Jamie thought she may have been lying about the pregnancy in the first place.

Elsewhere I have heard that Dany is not going to be able to keep her dragons because they are not compatible with peace, if she's going to take the iron Throne. I've also heard speculation that the iron throne may not be her destiny 😐

LordPickle · 16/05/2019 18:05

Well I'm pretty much over this show. I've loved GOT since it started and I used to read the fan sites and wikia. But after that last episode, I feel like the writers have rushed this series and written it poorly just to get it over with. So many story arcs abandoned and so many loose ends and unfulfilled prophecies...it just doesn't make sense.

I admit that I just read a leak of the final episode and it makes me want to break something. So basically I just came back to say fuck this show.

origamiunicorn · 16/05/2019 18:11

@lordpickle I agree, you can tell there's none of George's influence in the writing anymore it's just awful. What was that about Cersei's prophecy, why did they just abandon that? To be honest now, as long as Dany's not on the throne at the end I'm not fussed.

LordPickle · 16/05/2019 18:58

@origamiunicorn yes and the worst part is, they made us wait 2 FUCKING YEARS for this steaming pile of shit. I'm probably more angry than I should be (it's just a tv show) but I just feel massively cheated by this entire series. The only good part was Arya killing the Night King.

twattymctwatterson · 17/05/2019 15:44

I'm completely convinced that the ending we're getting IS George's ending sadly. Daenerys going Mad has been foreshadowed for some time. She's been threatening to burn cities to the ground and take what is hers with fire and blood since season 2.

I agree there are definitely pacing problems with this season but I believe the outcome is all GRRM

Lweji · 17/05/2019 15:52

There's a petition for those not happy about this season. Grin
