GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8. Possible spoilers

Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

It is on at 11am here (Australia) so I could banish the kids to play outside (Easter hols), close the blinds and watch it. Poor DH will be at work though and I might feel a little bad about watching it before him. Ahhhh, who am I kidding? I already know that I'm going to watch the first airing, record it and then watch it again with him that night .

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am about season 8. I get a little squeal of excitement everytime I think about it.

I'll also be up at 2am watching as I'm going on holiday Monday and couldn't bare to wait another week to watch knowing everyone else has seen it

Seriously, though, does anyone actually think there is going to be a ruler of Westeros at the end of the series? It sort of goes against everything that GRRM is trying to say in the story. This story will end in one of two ways:

There will be a ruler but no Westeros
There will be a Westeros but no (single) ruler

The whole point of the series (the books almost certainly) that it really does not matter who sits on the Iron Throne at the end. It is only a sideshow.

Marking place. I can't wait. I will however have to wait till Monday evening to watch it.

I have just taken a screenshot of the thronecast discussion and sent it to dh asking him to check Now TV and prepare the episode for us to watch once I get home in 1hr. I didn't know that they had already these.

I have managed to get through the gap between s7 and s8 by watching lots of youtubers discuss different theories, predictions and all inbetween. I also got the audiobooks and that has also kept me going for a while but oh my it has been a long wait.

Oh yes and because the changes between the books and the TV series the further I got into the books, it was like I was reading a whole new story. Like how I am jealous of people watching GoT for the first time ever.

Martin sat down with the two Ds a couple of years ago and told them his key hitting points for the ending. So, even though the show is now well ahead of the books, there should be a broad brush similarity to how Martin will end the books.

Tea you have a very cinematic eye! I could picture that end scene as soon as you described it.

Just woke up and realised it is only 24 hours to go....

I have never been so excited about a TV show and I am not the slightest bit embarrassed! GoT is a huge work of art and a cultural phenomenon.

I won't be watching at 2am but will be planning to watch at 7 in the evening via now t.v.
I might have gone a touch overboard and planned themed snacks. It is usually just dp and myself watching but ds has caught up with it all and will be watching with us.
I have re watched season 7 and been watching all the extra bits so so excited

Not long now! I’ll be having a nap when my son goes to bed so I’m not too tired, then my friend is coming round at about 10 so we can ‘netflix and chill’ until it’s time.

I have set an emergency alarm incase we fall asleep, imagine waking up and realising you had missed it.

So excited, we'll be recording at 2am and as DH is off for the Easter holidays watching it while the children nap at lunchtime. They will nap tomorrow afternoon! If it were just the baby at home we'd watch it with her awake but not sure it's appropriate viewing for a three year old....

I have a nap planned for early evening.

Alarms already set on phones and iPads just in case.

Set to record on two TVs just in case one doesn't work.

So excited. Feels like Christmas. I am even cleaning the house with renewed vigour so all is perfect for Thrones night.

Hot Pies perhaps? Wolf shaped bread? Lemon cakes?

I've seen GoT Oreos online but wasted on me as I don't like Oreos.

We are having home made sausage rolls (little nod to theon there) direwolf claws basically shaped puff pastry with a cinnamon sugar filling, lemon cakes, cersie salt nachos with salnsa reaching a bit there i know. We are also having red grape schloer in wine glasses as its a school night and ds is only 15. Oh also a variety of mini chocolate eggs cause, you know, dragons, that and its easter and there are loads around.

It's just some nonsense i found online and thought would be fun as its the last first episode

At last the day is here! It’s been a loooong 2 years, I watched all 7 series again over the last couple of months, my ds is staying over at my mums , I doubt I’ll still be awake at 2am but will watch as soon as I wake up tomorrow, (I prefer to record it so I can fast forward the adverts). I am also recording the show which has a countdown of the best episodes ever.
Apparently this first episode is meant to be the funniest they’ve ever done, I do like the one liners some of the characters have.
