GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8. Possible spoilers

Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

Dh and I, Just watched season 7, episode 7, in preparation. For tomorrow. Literally can not wait! Glad we did, because now we are back up to speed, and I'd actually forgotten a lot.

Bearic is still alive in the show but doesn't have Thoros of Myr to bring him back to life anymore.

In the books he died after he passed his life on to Lady Stoneheart, a zombified Catelyn Stark.

I thought the new season were all 90 minute episodes but in the viewing guide it’s only 1hr 5 mins?

The run times are longer for the last 3 episodes
• Episode one – 54 mins
• Episode two – 58 mins
• Episode three – 60 minutes
• Episode four – 78 minutes
• Episode five – 80 minutes
• Episode six – 80 minutes

I've re-watched the whole of season 7 today and I'm hoping to stay awake to watch Ep1.

I'm so tired but I'm chugging lots of caffeine. Only 27 minutes to go.

I've decided that I think Dany WILL be pregnant, and this will make Cersei hate her more than she already does. And Cersei will tease Dany that hers too is in a incest child, but that Dany will reply that she didn't know that at the time!!

Not sure either child will make it to actually being born alive, (possibly Cersei die in childbirth would be apt?) but that's another thing.

A few random thoughts:

  • nice homage to the very first episode by having the little boy running around trying to get a glimpse of the troops.
  • not liking the dumbing down of Cersei. Would she really have remarked “good” in response to being told the army of the dead were heading south? And bedding Euron? Really?
  • Jon has no plans to tell Dany about Sam’a revelations for now but he was shaken to hear about the execution of the Tarlys. How much longer before he realises she’s more like her father than she admits and starts to think he’ll make a better monarch?
  • Will Bronn really kill Jamie and Tyrion? Isn’t he far more likely to agree to do it but then double cross Cersei? Again, something she should’ve realised.
  • Nikolaj C-W is one of the more underrated cast members but has been excellent in portraying Jamie’s journey to redemption. The wordless scene between him and Bran was a high point. But I’m not sure Bran will show much animosity towards him. After all, he wouldn’t where he is today if not for that fateful push.
  • favourite line "he's got blue eyes", "I'VE ALWAYS HAD BLUE EYES!"

Loved Sam in this, thought he was awesome as usual. Will he go home and become Lord Tarly?
