GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8. Possible spoilers

Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

It does say spoilers in the title @thefirst so I wouldn't worry!!

Just watching now, almost finished. Loving it so far. Still can't stand Sansa.

Lweji · 15/04/2019 11:33

Will he go home and become Lord Tarly?

I suspect no, not for some time anyway. But he now represents the Tarlys in the alliance, with whatever may be left of their army.

I wondered whether CL slept with EG because she's not pg but needs an heir ASAP?
I think she slept with him because she's going to pretend the baby's his, to keep him loyal and give him a bigger incentive to win.

Loved all the nods to S1. Hated the new intro. Trailer for next week looks good Smile

@ElenadeClermont back in S7 Gilly reads through a diary written by a high septon who, along with discussing his bowel movements, notes that he annuals a marriage between a ‘Prince Raggar’. Sam ignored Gilly at the time, but obviously realised this information was useful before the end of the series.

Yes, this is very problematic as far as book canon is concerned, but D&D needed it to happen so it did. So, Jon is the legitimate child of Rhaegar and Lyanna and is called Aegon - same name as his murdered son. Creepy much.

Only book snobs like me tend to let this bother them.

SweetSummerchild · 15/04/2019 16:45

As far as dragon riders go, there is some history of non Targs riding dragons (I think Nettles was one), but some of them could have been bastards. However, Dany seemed to brush it off as something not particularly significant.

And WHERE THE FUCK IS GHOST?

TheweewitchRoz · 15/04/2019 16:46

Just watched it - great opening episode but where is Brienne?

SweetSummerchild · 15/04/2019 16:51

Just watched Episode 2 trailer...

Does anyone think Dany will execute Jaime? If she wants to it could cause one hell of a rift between her and Tyrion.

agirlhasnonameX · 15/04/2019 16:54

And WHERE THE FUCK IS GHOST?
I know 😓 he isn't around nearly enough anymore

SweetSummerchild · 15/04/2019 16:59

That spirally sun thing that the White Walkers had left with Ned Umbar is one of the symbols that the Children of the Forest had painted on the walls of the cave in Dragonstone where Jon and Dany had their first romantic (yeah right) moment.

RonBurgundyspanpipe · 15/04/2019 17:16

That spiral was in s1 ep1 too when the three crows found the mutilated wildlings right at the start.

Dany killing JL would be a game changer. Wonder if the dragons will be loyal to JS if Dany were to die?

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/04/2019 17:31

She won't execute Jamie. He has to stay alive as he's going to have to be the one who kills Cersei. And then presumably himself.

ElenadeClermont · 15/04/2019 17:33

@SweetSummerchild Thank you. Flowers

RonBurgundyspanpipe · 15/04/2019 17:38

According to a certain newspaper the new credits show four dragons on the sword which appears just before the show title. Could signal the arrival of a fourth targ (Meera Reed?)

agirlhasnonameX · 15/04/2019 17:56

I don't think she will execute Jamie either, I doubt they'd have shown that bit in the trailer if she was going to and he's in the season trailer fighting I think, so I can't see her allowing him to fight then killing him after.

I didn't notice the four dragons on the sword (did see red wedding on the band at the beginning though).

TheFirstOHN · 15/04/2019 19:39

For those of you watching via Now TV:
Where is S8 of Thronecast? I can only see S1-7.

SimonJT · 15/04/2019 19:43

TheFirstOHN · 15/04/2019 19:48

Thanks SimonJT
What about the first two episodes (Gameshow and War Room)?

Nousernameforme · 15/04/2019 20:10

Just finished. Dont think jon will tell dany think either sam or sansa will blurt it out in ab argument

Singlebutmarried · 15/04/2019 22:23

‘What do dragons eat anyway?’

‘Whatever they want’

Second viewing here

NorthernLurker · 15/04/2019 22:46

I think Cersei should remember Euron is also a little brother and tread carefully.

Though I think the Hound is more likely.

8dayweek · 15/04/2019 23:25

I thought the valonqar thing was gender neutral? So just younger sibling, rather than little brother. Wasn't that what Missandei said about high Valyrian being "sexless"...?

FuzzyPixel · 15/04/2019 23:36

With regards to the valonqar, do we think there is the possibility of Arya (if it is Arya and not the waif) wearing the mask of a 'Little brother' to kill Cersei?

Nousernameforme · 15/04/2019 23:45

Why do people think arya could be the waif? What reason would the waif have to go back to westeros and work on aryas list

8dayweek · 15/04/2019 23:50

The Waif as Arya would never get past 3 Eyed Raven Bran!

PreseaCombatir · 15/04/2019 23:54

I’m pretty sure that only that particular word in Valyrian is gender-neutral, not the whole language.
This word his is definitely male, and it said the valonqar will wrap his hands.

But more importantly, where is Ghost?
I’m so pissed off.
Oh there’s no CGI budget for Ghost.
Also, Dragons in every scene.
