Seeing that we are going to be in need of a third thread... My title makes no sense, does it? I had a funny one in mind earlier but it escapes me now. Should have used hot glue gun to make it stick.

lurks in

Frenchfancy · 20/03/2019 05:45

Just realised that I called Richardo Richard on the last thread. Amazing how an o can make a difference.

Wolfcub · 20/03/2019 06:35

Thank you Dilitte

IStillMissBlockbuster · 20/03/2019 07:19

I think it's Riccardo French.

Thank you for starting the new thread.

Imfinehowareyou · 20/03/2019 07:26

Finally Riccardo gets recognition. I cheered!
When Patrick and Esme look down from the balcony making comments on the made to measure they remind me of those 2 grumpy men from the Muppet Show Grin

Halsall · 20/03/2019 08:05

Thanks for the new thread, dillite Smile

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/03/2019 08:13

I haven't watched yet (I don't mind the spoilers so I've read the comments so far) but I'm just joining the new thread.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/03/2019 08:44

dillite - thank you for this thread. I was starting to panic.

And nothing wrong with the title - nothing wrong at all.

Patrick and Wundaweb are one of my favourite fantasies

(Seriously - I wonder if he ever reads these threads, or gets reports from the wimmin in his life, and what he thinks of our pre-, peri- and post-menopausal comments . . . )

dontcallmelen · 20/03/2019 08:54

Thanks dillite

Frenchfancy · 20/03/2019 09:12

So it is Blockbuster Blush

FuzzyPuffling · 20/03/2019 09:33

Signing in...and slowly unpicking the tacking of life.

DarlingNikita · 20/03/2019 10:13

Thanks dillite

Riccardo so deserved GoW. His coat was beautiful and I'd like one. I thought Jen's was a bit ropy; didn't like the pink and grey.

All linen jackets look saggy and scruffy to me.

I liked most of the ticking things, especially Riccardo's antique-style bloomers Grin

Janet's coat was a beautiful colour and cut but those applique bits were a weird choice. It was OK that she went, although I feel like Leah has now dodged a bullet several times.

Joe isn't getting any funnier IMO. Bring back Claudia! Patrick on the other hand was on good catty form.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/03/2019 10:33

Riccardo's coat was a thing of beauty, I probably wouldn't have chosen those two colours together but the shape and detail was wonderful. I thought it was a shame that he hadn't opted for the same colour linen for the first challenge as whoever it was that had two right sleeves as they could have just sneakily swapped sleeves. I agree with DarlingNikita that linen jackets are very hard to look good in ... unless you stay standing and don't bend your arms at the elbow, which makes it hard to neck the Pimms.

Leah seemed to be about one wisecrack away from a nervous breakdown through the whole episode.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/03/2019 11:39

Leah makes me nervous - her anxiety levels are so great that they swish over the top of the telly and flood our living room.

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/03/2019 11:40

Oh Jan! That gimmicky coat was a mistake. You could see Patrick didn't approve when she described it.

DarlingNikita · 20/03/2019 11:44

But he said he loved it when she'd actually made it. It was just that she didn't finish it.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/03/2019 11:58

Lovely new thread! .

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/03/2019 11:59

..and I love the title! 😂😂😂

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/03/2019 12:11

I was very underwhelmed by Juliette's coat, and I usually like her garments. I know it was a straight rather than fitted style of coat but it was very reminiscent of a hessian sack, I was expecting something more elegant from the pattern picture.

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/03/2019 12:11

But he said he loved it when she'd actually made it. It was just that she didn't finish it.
Yes, I've seen that bit now. I wasn't keen myself although it would have been a lovely coat without the patches imo. I love the colour.

Poor Jan, she was such a nice person and so helpful.

Cocolepew · 20/03/2019 12:14

Ricardos coat was wonderful, apart from the belt, but I hate belts on coats.
Loved Patrick calling Esme Marple Grin

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/03/2019 12:41

I think Janet would have been better off making her coat in its entirety and then doing the appliqué at the end. I did quite like the appliqué effect and I think it lifted the coat above shop-bought styling, but finished is better than perfect (that's my quilting motto, stolen from Angela Walters) and her coat wasn't finished.

She knew more than most of the other contestants about tailoring, how will they ever manage to put a collar on the right way round without her?

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/03/2019 12:44

My money's on Riccardo to win now. His coat was beautiful.

LeesPostersAreInFrames · 20/03/2019 13:05

Hello! Mind if I join?

Ricardo's coat was beautiful. I have a thing for Harris Tweed anyway. One minor thing though - did nobody else think it was just too big for the model??? It might have been meant to be oversize, and the judges didn't say anything and not seeing you guys saying anything makes me think it is just in my head, but... shrug
