Seeing that we are going to be in need of a third thread... My title makes no sense, does it? I had a funny one in mind earlier but it escapes me now. Should have used hot glue gun to make it stick.

Yes that seems unfair to me Captain. Sewing/baking competitions should be for all!!

Definatly no jumper room on any of them. Sad

Is anyone else expecting to see those knickerbockers on the historian lady next series? Grin

Wolfcub · 21/03/2019 21:31

Thanks for the link Schadenthe bit about Leah’s muppety flollops made me laugh

UatuTheWatcher · 21/03/2019 22:53

Am I the only one who quite liked Ricardo’s knickerbockers? 😊. Glad he finally got GOTW at last.

Loving the shirt Halsall and that’s a beautiful quilt BoF.

I’ve just finished some cargo style trousers for DH and just finishing up a wrap skirt for me.

PrivateIsles · 21/03/2019 23:02

I liked the knickerbockers - they were a really good idea and a lot of skill seemed to go into making them. But I don't think I could exactly get away with wearing them!!!

2rebecca · 21/03/2019 23:11

Agree that a good coat has to be able to go over a jumper, especially here in Scotland. I was amazed at the coats with silly narrow sleeves when I last went coat shopping

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/03/2019 09:02

I loved the knickerbockers Watcher.

angstinabaggyjumper · 22/03/2019 09:38

PrivateIsles are you the historian lady???

PrivateIsles · 22/03/2019 09:48

Grin haha I see what you mean angst! When I posted I didn't notice the PP comment about Amber (?is that her name?) wearing them!! Sadly I am not her Grin
I think she could get away with knickerbockers.

FuzzyPuffling · 22/03/2019 10:04

My arse looks like knickerbockers.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/03/2019 10:14

Riccardo's knickerbocker outfit was the ONLY garment I liked in that challenge.

SoupDragon · 22/03/2019 11:45

I thought the knickerbockers were well made but utterly ridiculous.

UatuTheWatcher · 22/03/2019 13:19

Glad it’s not just me. Soup I would wear them to the beach but then I am known to be slightly ridiculous 🤪

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/03/2019 13:30

As am I Soup and Watcher - in fact, more than slightly . . .

LIZS · 22/03/2019 13:35

I do feel some sewers in the invention challenges do not produce very wearable results. Would still like them to include soft furnishings.

UatuTheWatcher · 22/03/2019 15:19

Needs a final iron it wrap around skirt finished. Sorry for the crappy pictures, David Bailey I am no.

Uatu

That will look gorgeous - the colours are amazing! They are silk patches aren't they?

Fabulous.

Halsall · 22/03/2019 17:28

Lovely, Uatu! 👏👏

Did someone mention Amber Butchart and Riccardo-style knickerbockers......?

God, Halsall.

That woman has the second-best job in the world.

(Best job = dog walker)

MaudAndOtherPoems · 22/03/2019 18:17

I’m slinking in rather late to this thread. These days I’m more of a quilter than a dressmaker, but I do like to watch —Patrick and Esme— the sewing bee.

DarlingNikita · 22/03/2019 18:19

I have stood very near to Amber Butchart and exchanged a few words with her.

She is VERY short. And she was dressed and made up and coiffed exactly as on the telly.

Binglebong · 22/03/2019 18:20

Beautiful! That will look gorgeous on.

UatuTheWatcher · 22/03/2019 19:38

Thanks all. It is silk patches wombled from things from charity shops and bits left from other projects. They’ve been laid out and sewn on a backing and then hand stitched along the edges of the patches in various colours with silk thread to make it look as if
it’s patchworked together.

Love that Amber Butchart outfit.
