Seeing that we are going to be in need of a third thread... My title makes no sense, does it? I had a funny one in mind earlier but it escapes me now. Should have used hot glue gun to make it stick.

That is a LOVELY pic of Patrick - less of the Geography teacher and more the dishy French Exchange master.

Right, well, the time has come for me to demonstrate the final results, if you still wish to see them?

Very much so.

dillite · 05/05/2019 07:52

Here we go! I have no idea why parts of the pleating photographed so much lighter--it's all the same colour in real life.

My friend is now 7 months pregnant and I am amazed that I managed to make her a bodice that fit.

Wow! Shock

Those are amazing. You are seriously talented.

Will we see you on next years wasp? Grin

dillite · 05/05/2019 16:05

Thank you :) I don't think that I could make the cut for the wasp!

I'd absolutely hate to be on it - all that pressure is a great way to stop you enjoying yourself.

The first few series had a wider range of people - I remember a man who made clothing for reenactments. It would be nice to not just have fashion clothing sewers.

Looking at your results you have the skill anyway. What was the fabric? It looked to be shot silk style.

SubisYodrethwhenLarping · 06/05/2019 02:48

Blimey SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

You are talented SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

dillite · 07/05/2019 18:40

bingle it was satin polyester as I can't afford silk, or even silk satin. My dress was cotton.

Thank you :) I would also hate all the pressure of the show. I need to be able to do things at my own pace.

Nor can I, but some of the fake stuff you get nie is so realistic that I can't tell. Love satin, wonderful stuff!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/05/2019 11:45

That is AMAZING!

(Wonder if the warp/weft/weave - one of those things - is going to opposite way on some layers of pleating. Maybe doesn't show in real life (or you would have noticed it), but when there's and intense light eg a flash, it becomes briefly apparent?)

Both the costumes are superb, anyway.

You are too good for the Wasp - it would be prostituting your talent!

dillite · 08/05/2019 19:00

schaden no those lighter parts do not show in real life at all. I have no idea why it photographed like that as it was the same fabric and everything. I was very annoyed when I saw those parts in photos.
