On tonight at 9 on ITV, this is a six part murder mystery set set against the backdrop of Loch Ness. It looks promising and I love watching Siobhan Finneran:

I've just stumbled across this last night.
I half-watched the first episode while MNing.
Must give it more attention, I think Smile

BeyondOfbob · 21/06/2017 10:53

Watched episodes one and two last night after seeing the thread here (I had somehow completely missed that it was on?!)

I enjoyed it. Wish I didn't have to wait for e3-6 though, much prefer binge watching.

I still need to watch broadchurch, will stick it on my big massive summer to do list

Cagliostro · 21/06/2017 12:13

See I thought at first that it wasn't even going to be a murder mystery as such, more of a 'how will they catch Marr' type thriller. But I guess that wouldn't stretch over 6 episodes really!

SpanishFly · 21/06/2017 13:30

Cary2012 we also have the cop shipped in from the barracks in The Missing (series 2)

cheesydoesit · 21/06/2017 17:20

I watched the first two episodes yesterday. I saw a promo of it on This Morning and dismissed it as shite but I actually really enjoyed it! It's daft but good. Fearless on the other hand, I only lasted 15 minutes or so and had high hopes for it based on the trailers.

SpanishFly · 21/06/2017 17:57

Ooft yip, Fearless was extremely bad 😣

Cagliostro · 21/06/2017 18:45

Yes not so taken with fearless yet. Would prefer it if they just stuck to the main murder plot TBH

bec54 · 22/06/2017 22:24

Sorry I'm a few days behind- just catching up now!

Am I the only one that's noticed the mom from woolly & tig is in it? She's the woman with the blonde bob at the abattoir!

Yep I googled it & everything lol!

SensitiveSoinSo · 23/06/2017 09:35

I like this but the teenage daughter pisses me off. He behaviour is just so stupid and annoying. In my head shes 18, not sure if i imsgined that or its in the story but her behaviour is very immature for an 18yo.

NotCitrus · 23/06/2017 13:14

Finally caught up! (ITVHub can handle subtitles on a desktop)

It was all making pieces of sense until the last minute - who are Mr McGrellish and Velma? And Jonjo survives into next episode - will we find out what his pills are? Definitely want to know what's in the headmaster's locked study.

PacificDogwod · 23/06/2017 13:48

His pills were Quetiapine - an anti-psychotic, sometimes used for depression/mood stabilisation/add on to aid sleep in complex MH problems.
Schizophrenia does often present in young males, so he'd fit that profile.

The study locking was creepy and his wife has some sort of dark secret also

FeistyColl · 23/06/2017 17:55

Just caught up with episode 2 and I'm still not sure ..I don't mind confusing because it then has the potential to be really satisfying if all the pieces fit cleverly. But, I'm struggling to like or care about any of the characters which puts me off.
And no-one has mentioned that the doctor's daughter is Katie Morag ...

cheesydoesit · 23/06/2017 19:45

Haha I was just about to say Katie Morag is in it! I missed Tig's mum though.

BeyondOfbob · 23/06/2017 20:57

I just finished broadchurch Grin
(Told you I liked to binge watch!)

hollyisalovelyname · 24/06/2017 17:30

Cagliostro does the mother have Munchausen's by proxy?

BeyondOfbob · 24/06/2017 17:33

Certainly is implied at the moment, though I wonder if we'll find out it's some sort of treatment? Will go and do some reading up on locked in syndrome now... Grin

BeyondOfbob · 24/06/2017 17:40

Five minutes later...

It appear that eye movement is often not affected in LIS and sedation can be used to manage it

MummysMaison · 25/06/2017 22:12

Pretty sure that Bethan is pregnant and her mum is pretending to be, with Bethan hiding upstairs. Given the pictures of her and the doctor I'd say he is the daddy and that's their secret, they are going to fudge the birth records. Don't think the doctor did it but he is a shady character of the highest order. I'm not convinced it's the school teacher, anyone could have picked up his paper from school, but again got some skeletons in his closet.

Clawdy · 25/06/2017 22:40

Tonight's was a bit confusing. Keep forgetting who has done what. And even who is related to who!

BeyondOfbob · 26/06/2017 08:44

I reckon you might be right there, mummys

DH wants the "twist" to be that Nessie did it Grin

cheesydoesit · 26/06/2017 11:19

Yes Mummys, I thought the same thing. I was willing Laura Fraser to pull the pillow from under Bethan's mum's top. Also, how rubbish was Evie at snooping around the Doctor's house? Not very discreet.

Callmegeoff · 26/06/2017 16:00

I've just caught up. I don't think the teacher is the killer but he knew the piano guy - maybe planned a liaison with him , and that's why he got rid of the phone. - to protect his marriage .

Think you could be right with the pregnancy theory - hadn't thought of that.

cocaloca · 26/06/2017 23:25

Trying to follow this show... who the heck is Bethan - have we seen her before this episode??
