On tonight at 9 on ITV, this is a six part murder mystery set set against the backdrop of Loch Ness. It looks promising and I love watching Siobhan Finneran:

I'll need to record it.

CoolCarrie · 11/06/2017 15:37

It's a pita that Poldark, The Loch and The Handmaid's Tale are all starting at 9.00 tonight! I can't record so will probably watch THT and hope the other two turn up on YouTube!

daffodilbrain · 11/06/2017 22:00

Well that was a bit gory... I missed the bit about the guy in the coma, why was he in a coma?

Optimist1 · 11/06/2017 22:03

Apparently he developed an anaeurism (whilst on active service in the Army?) which then turned into Locked In Syndrome, daffodil. That scene was before I decided I needed the subtitles on to understand everything that was being said, so I may have misheard!

Optimist1 · 11/06/2017 22:05

Too many characters for me to get a handle on - sort of Broadchurch goes North of the Border. (Anyone notice that blue rope from Broadchurch is putting in an appearance here, too?)

Clawdy · 11/06/2017 22:12

Looks pretty watchable, perhaps too many male characters, a bit confusing. Keep finding myself singing ".......you can go to Timbuctoo, But you'll never find a Nessie in the zoo...."

AgentProvocateur · 11/06/2017 22:13

Loved it. Looking forward to next week.

Xmasbaby11 · 11/06/2017 22:48

I found it a bit slow and none of the main characters have grabbed me apart from that police officer who's been shipped in (from Happy Valley). I'll give it a go and watch again next week though ... I feel like I should like it.

Piffpaffpoff · 11/06/2017 23:24

I know this area well and just got too irritated by the fact that they would be driving in the wrong direction along a road that's miles away from the village then in the next (continuous) scene be tens of miles away in the opposite direction. Even DH said 'blimey, he's going the long way round' as one character drove over Rannoch Moor towards Glencoe. Just call me PiffPaffPedantic.

Allabitmuchisntit · 11/06/2017 23:43

Yes the blue rope putting in an appearance again.
Itv drama department must have a shit load of it to use up.

NormaSmuff · 12/06/2017 11:36

Surprising to see John Sessions.

Missed the first half of this but not sure whether to watch again

Cocolepew · 12/06/2017 11:38

The scenery was outstanding.

PolaDeVeboise · 12/06/2017 11:49

Yes Optimist, we commented on the Broadchurch similarity too, particularly the blue rope Grin Slightly offended that you needed subtitles though!

Optimist1 · 12/06/2017 13:17

Oops - no offence meant re use of subtitles, Pola ! I got the tip from other MNers who are keen not to miss anything from the dialogue, regardless of regional accents/soft voices/distracting visuals etc.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 12/06/2017 20:21

Allabitmuch,

Grin Grin

NotYoda · 12/06/2017 20:40

My DH has some of that blue rope in his shed. I think he did both of them

Disappointed. Beautiful setting, terrible dialogue.

NotYoda · 12/06/2017 20:41

That was in terribly poor taste, on reflections Blush Grin

Optimist1 · 12/06/2017 21:01

Just keep an eye on his movements and report back if he's acting suspiciously, NotYoda! Grin

Glittermakeseverythingbetter · 13/06/2017 15:30

I'm half an hour in and have come on mumsnet to see if anyone's explained the plot yet! ConfusedGrin

teddygirlonce · 13/06/2017 16:14

I found it hard to follow some of the dialogue and I don't usually have issues listening to different accents!

It's all a total mystery to me at the moment, although DH reckons the first episode was hinting that the 'locked in' ex-soldier could be the murderer (I didn't think that at all!).

Yes, Teenage girls are all total cows according to crime dramas

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2017 06:43

Ditto to subtitles as often they mutter

So the heart belongs to dead drowned weighted body and no one knows he is dead yet

Bit slow so far tbh ......

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 15/06/2017 10:39

How many parts is there to this? It seems like something I would enjoy but I found the first episode a bit slow and have watched too many disappointing dramas lately to be bothered to stick with something that's going to drag on for weeks on end.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 15/06/2017 13:27

I think I read somewhere that there are 3 eps.
(Best check that, though!).
