I saw the pic of Frank and Claire and baby Bree, and my first thought was 'Wtf have they done to TM's hair?!!' He looks like Jim Carey in Dumb & Dumber.

It set me off thinking, though. Has anyone rewatched S2? I must have watched the first series 300 10 times but I haven't even bothered to watch S2 twice. It's pure misery for C&J from start to finish. It's all good and well keeping Claire & Jamie apart for ages in S3, but does anyone really want to watch that? I'll reiterate the point I made on the original thread that Gabaldon must bloody hate her characters.

Oh, and apparently she's confirmed that the Mr Willoughby character is definitely in S3. I have mixed feelings about what S3 is going to bring tbh.

Lessstressedhemum · 23/12/2016 11:33

I saw the picture, too. Frank's love for Brianna is his only redeeming feature as far as I'm concerned, although I realise that everything about him is written from Claire's point of view so is quite one sided. His attitude to the Abernathies really, really infuriates me.

I just don't want to watch a ton of stuff about Claire and Frank in Boston, hopefully it'll be mostly Jamie's story, which is much more interesting anyway.

I have watched some of S2 again but not all of it, some of it is just too sad and distressing. Hopefully, S3 will be a bit more upbeat.

Lessstressedhemum · 28/12/2016 20:29

Am ill again, this time with an ear and sinus infection, so am comforting myself by rewatching. Oh, how I have missed those knees and that glorious accent. Swoon.

snozzlemaid · 28/12/2016 23:33

That sounds nasty Less. Being ill is always a good excuse for a rewatch.
The knees can help you forget you're suffering.

hudyerwheesht · 05/01/2017 19:49

Hello lassies, happy new year to you all!

I've been scouring the net trying to find out filming updates about series 3, iirc the big reunion is set in Edinburgh so I'm keeping an eye out for any info so I can go back home to stalk visit the set...anyone heard anything?

I never did get any further than the reunion in Voyager with the books so I haven't been back to the thread(s) but having skim read this one I'm relieved that everyone is still as obsessed as me!

Lessstressedhemum · 06/01/2017 00:23

You should read further, hud, honestly you won't regret it. I would love to be able to stalk but I can just imagine the children. They already think that I am a sad, deranged old dear in need of psychiatric help!

2rebecca · 06/01/2017 13:41

I'm watching the first series but finding it a bit repetitive. Jamie and Claire are happy for 5 minutes then one of them gets captured/tortured, then the other rescues them and they are happy again repeat endlessly.
It's like the later series of Merlin where it was Merlin v Morgana every week and the plot didn't progress much. I don't like the fixation with gory torture scenes either.

pixieg1rl · 07/01/2017 13:48

I fear the constant peril/rescue theme is one that runs throughout the stories Rebecca

Lessstressedhemum · 07/01/2017 15:23

Aye, the happiness/peril/rescue cycle runs throughout and it seems as if DG really doesn't like her characters, they get so little peace, but love conquers all and the stories are, in the end, very affirming. Also, Sam Heigham is one of the wonders of the world, especially in a kilt. He is absolutely perfect as Jamie.

TheDailyWail · 07/01/2017 15:29

Placemarking as I'm midway s2. 🙂

hudyerwheesht · 07/01/2017 22:22

I might read each book after the end of each series, that way I won't spoil any future TVs watching too much...

I still can't find anything on current filming. Would one of those nutty Heuligan FB pages maybe have something, do you think? (She says, planning her own location stalkConfused)

Lessstressedhemum · 07/01/2017 22:30

I would think so. They are always trying to stalk folk!

Lessstressedhemum · 09/01/2017 15:38

Just discovered that DS3 has a friend on his college course (it's a theatre course) who has a part in the new series!! The big toerag won't even use this connection to further my stalking ambitions Angry imagine that. He says that he won't encourage me in my patheticness.

snozzlemaid · 09/01/2017 18:35

I think the reunion print shop scenes were being filmed before christmas. I think it was one of the writers, Richard Kahan, who tweeted some criptic clues to hint that.
I don't think they're filming again yet after their christmas break.
I was slightly concerned when I read that DG said recently that they'll be moving to film in South Africa in May! They're filming the scenes at sea and after there, but I was hoping season 3 would shown before May.
I'm not a real stalker honestly Blush

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 09/01/2017 18:54

Have finished the drums of autumn, and raced on with the next. Are we going to get a lot of tedious civil war? Was hoping it would all be living on the ridge killing the odd bear (as you do).

She has a thing about dealing with the baddies does DG, Jamie cut Randalls tackle off, whereas Bree shoots her rapists bollocks off... still like the books though, love that they're so descriptive, I even got through that muddy gathering without reading ahead.

So, when are we going to get season 3?? I've googled a lot bit, but stay away from facebook. I have decided to rewatch from the start (have watched both seasons a few times, I think the acting is really good in series 2, although it is gloomy) before work gets busy this year!

hudyerwheesht · 09/01/2017 20:03

Lessstressed you have to find a way to exploit that! Too good a chance to miss...

I hope I haven't missed the Edinburgh filming -maybe there'll be more

I never really recovered from finding out the mill scene in s1 was filmed two minutes away from my sisters house and her neighbour was there. SadEnvy

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 10/01/2017 00:00

Dur, have just finished the firey cross.

pixieg1rl · 10/01/2017 10:50

Print shop scene has been filmed. ew.com/tv/2017/01/09/outlander-caitriona-balfe-print-shop-scene/

hudyerwheesht · 10/01/2017 11:28

Dammit!

I wonder where they actually filmed it, in the book it was Edinburgh but they used Fife for Inverness. That said, a of Edinburgh looks as old as it would've done then so I thought they might have. Keep an eye out for any more filming news though, lassies!

Lessstressedhemum · 10/01/2017 15:55

I will ask DS3 to enquire, hud, but not hold my breath. He says that he might ask his friend, whose name he won't disclose because that would only encourage my stalking, to get me a signed pic of Sam, but only if I pay him! The ratbag sees this as a "business opportunity". How can I have raised such a mercenary wee gommerel?

snozzlemaid · 10/01/2017 17:29

He could do quite well if he got us all a pic.

snozzlemaid · 10/01/2017 17:31

Hud. I'd guess they filmed the reunion scenes inside the print shop in the studio. Don't know where they've filmed outside scenes though. I've only heard of them filming in and around Glasgow.

pixieg1rl · 15/01/2017 13:03

HUD, these might be of interest to you.

Lessstressedhemum · 16/01/2017 17:40

Apparently they are filming in Ayrshire very, very soon. allowed, I think.

Lessstressedhemum · 16/01/2017 18:34

Think it might be in Mauchline. Not to far from me, I will need to find out more!
