That's what I'm thinking with the photos I've seen.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 20/10/2017 06:54

That photo...
Do you think once Claire kisses him, Jamie's hair will return to its thick wavy form and stop being thin and frizzy?

Lessstressedhemum · 20/10/2017 11:28

I'm sure that his hair will return to it's wondrous glory s soon s they have a good snog, Breakfast. Although, I don't really care, he is just so beautiful.

The gif of him straightening the sign and her touching it made me smile.

susurration · 20/10/2017 14:05

I really hope that we get to see the lead up to the fainting from Jamie's POV. I love all the bits in the previous episodes from J's POV.

Grin Grin

I am ridiculously excited, for a grown woman and a tv programme Blush

Will someone please link to a new thread when they open it?

breadwidow · 20/10/2017 23:44

Me too, soooooooo excited

DH has bought a new amazon fire stick meaning I can put it on the big telly without it messing up like it did with the chrome cast GrinGrinGrin

GreatWhites · 21/10/2017 12:27

The actors have been tweeting about night shoots in Scotland for Season 4. Anyone know what they are actually shooting? None of Book 4 is in Scotland Confused

ToniMumsnet · 21/10/2017 12:37

Is it possible they are using the highlands for Frasers Ridge?

SenecaFalls · 21/10/2017 12:50

Some parts of the Highlands could easily stand in for the mountains of North Carolina.

Lessstressedhemum · 21/10/2017 12:51

They are using Scotland for America. They've been filming the graveyard scene etc. around Falkirk this week. Those are the night shoots they are talking about. Oh how I wish I could drive, I could have been there in an hourSad
It was even worse when they were filming in Dunure. I could have been there (stalking Sam) in less than 40 minutes. I was actually distraught at that. I'm not really fit enough to travel any distance on public transport, or I would have got the bus.

SenecaFalls · 21/10/2017 12:54

The biggest issue of authenticity will be the buildings. In the colonial South most buildings were made of wood because trees were so plentiful.

AKAmyself · 21/10/2017 13:06

I have been rewatching the end of season one. Even the horrible wentworth bits (though admittedly fast forwarding the most gruesome parts). It's been wonderful actually because I had forgotten how much murtagh comes to love and respect Claire and just what lengths Claire goes to save Jamie. Had also forgotten that Jennie never actually liked Claire (which makes it easier to understand her future behaviour...)

AKAmyself · 21/10/2017 13:07

I have a young (26 yo) colleague who started watching recently. She came in yesterday absolutely traumatised by Jennie squirting milk in a cup! "Can you really do that?!?"

ToniMumsnet · 21/10/2017 13:53

I will be interested if they are filming now in Scotland how they will convince us it's so very hot!!! Falkirk in October is far from balmy.

breadwidow · 21/10/2017 14:07

AKA, I didn’t get that impression of Jenny and Claire. She was skeptical at first for sure but after a bit they seemed to get on quite well (nb I’ve not read the books so could have missed something)

GreatWhites · 21/10/2017 15:33

Grin Grin Yes, so many descriptions of them stripping off and sweat pouring off them in the book. Difficult to achieve when you can see your breath in the air and your fingers are turning blue!

It is very good of them to use Scotland though. Surely good for tourism etc.

The scene which always makes me laugh is Jamie and Claire's picnic on the mountain in the middle of an absolute downpour. Poor SH and CB look frozen in it.

SenecaFalls · 21/10/2017 15:54

In the days before air conditioning, it was very common for people from Florida to go to the North Carolina mountains in the summer to escape the heat. But it can be hot there in the summer, too, especially by Scottish standards.

quirkychick · 21/10/2017 17:38

Aren't there some bits in Book 4 with Brianna and Roger in Boston and some kind of Highland get together that Roger takes Brianna too, and also Lallybroch? Would those be what they are filming in Scotland?

snozzlemaid · 21/10/2017 18:09

Maril has said on a q & a on Twitter yesterday they are filming nearly all in Scotland.

Lessstressedhemum · 21/10/2017 18:11

It's brilliant for Scottish tourism. Long may it continue. At least the winter scenes will be realisticSmile

quirkychick · 21/10/2017 18:14

Thanks Snozzle. They'll have to pretend it's hot, then.

AKAmyself · 21/10/2017 18:27

I love the scene where they have a picnic in the rain Grin! It certainly lends authenticity to the proceedings and balances out the (wonderful) scene of Claire sleeping on the cold ground in without as much as a shawl to cover herself with. Made for easy access when Jamie decided to pleasure her but not exactly believable given the snow-capped peaks all around!

For some reason the link above seems not to work for me so I will link again
