Hi all, can I join?

There are so many theories on here. I don't really even have any to add but they're interesting to read. I don't think he's going to have been taken as part of the peadophile ring - but that could just be wishful thinking on my part. As it stands I have no idea who did it or what happened.

I think Tony made a mistake killing ian. He needs his information, but I think the red mist got the better of him which is understandable...
When Vincent was looking for him in the present day the man at Ian's office said he'd been missing for 8 years, presumed dead last year. So how on earth does Tony cover that up? He's been telling the police that Ian is involved somehow and ian is friends with George (who I thought was the mayor but you all say he's the police chief?!) would they not look for him properly? I'm not sure how T will get away with killing him...but he obviously does!

susiedaisy · 27/11/2014 08:08

Can I just say again that Vincent has an Adam's apple, only men have them. And I'm sure that rules out the theory of Vincent being Mollie. Smile

dingit · 27/11/2014 08:13

I think there may be twins involved, I don't know why. They mentioned Ian's brother, but no one has seen him, or are they identical? Or maybe Vincent and Molly are twins?

dingit · 27/11/2014 08:15

Or even Oliver and James. Don't know how that would work though.

Ohmygrood · 27/11/2014 08:18

I think that Ian would have called someone when he arrived at his house and saw Tony's car. Possibly corrupt mayor will arrive and Tony will get away. Corrupt mayor will have to hide the evidence of the boat which probably implicates him. He's possibly on the tapes as well. Tapes will be destroyed and Tony won't see them.

Ohmygrood · 27/11/2014 08:19

Oliver and James could be twins if Oliver was adopted.
It could be linked to the 'thing' that Tony and Emily's Dad did.

EauRouge · 27/11/2014 08:37

Having twins runs in the family, doesn't it? So if Olleh and James are twins and were adopted then could they be related to Ian and twin and Vincent and Molly? This is getting silly now Grin

Wait, there are loads of grey-haired old men that look the same.... The only conclusion I can come to to explain all these twins is that there is some kind of alien involvement. There, I solved it.

dingit · 27/11/2014 08:45

Grin Eaurouge. I think I will miss this thread more than the series when it's all over.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 27/11/2014 09:24

Vincent is not Molly. I'm sure of that not sure of anything else, mind you Wink

Bakeoffcakes · 27/11/2014 09:31

I think Tony will get out of the shower and it will all be a dreamWink

EmilyGilmore · 27/11/2014 09:41

I think Vincent is Molly but was always a boy - Ian tried to imagine him as a girl in an attempt to resist his urges.

No. In the second episode, when Vincent meets Ian at the half-built house and Ian "terminates" their "association" you get no sense that they are related to one another. When Vincent arrives he calls out "Monsieur Garret". And Ian does not reply "Hello Molly" Grin

reem1 · 27/11/2014 09:42

Just checked IMDb cast list and according to it:

Oliver is only in episodes 1, 3 (by the pool) and next week's - I guess a major clue coming. We won't see him in last two episodes.

Lots of actors are down for next episodes but not many for last two - I think only Tony, Emily, Julien and his wife Celia and Monique in last episode.

Interestingly Monique is in last episode, next week's and final but also listed in first episode - might need to watch it again to try and spot her.
Also Mary Ian's wife is down for last episode but also first one. I can't remember gear there......

Although there might be an error on IMDb list.....

Clawdy · 27/11/2014 09:47

I looked at the cast list too! but apparently sometimes they deliberately leave names off if it's a real spoiler...will be interesting to see.

SomethingFunny · 27/11/2014 10:20

Reem1 (on previous page) -yes, that's what I read. I got distracted last night, didn't mean to leave that snippet hanging. I guess that's how Tony knows it wasn't Ian and that is the 2009 event. Which is going to have some effect on Emily (this was referred to by Mark before- sounded like she had a breakdown).

I love the theories.

I think Alan (think that was his name) and Silvie have something to do with it. She says something odd when they turned up in first episode (something about phoning ahead? ) and sends Alan(?) off to "his meeting". And then there's the whole scarf thing. I hope Ollie wasn't murdered or taken by a paedophile ring, but there is some adoption/twin/someone else's son story behind it. I also hope that I am not disapointed with the ending. If it is not as least as half as exciting as some of the theories on here I will be disapointed!

SomethingFunny · 27/11/2014 10:21

If Ollie was to appear in the last episode, it would be as a different actor. Ollie is now 13.

LineRunner · 27/11/2014 10:26

God yes, this had better have a cogent ending. I remember investing in Twin Peaks and then realising it was never ever going to make sense. (Or was that just me?)

EmilyGilmore · 27/11/2014 10:29

If Ollie was to appear in the last episode, it would be as a different actor. Ollie is now 13.

Not if he was being shown in flashback scenes.

reem1 · 27/11/2014 10:31

Clawdy - yes I thought so too, full cast list might be a spoiler. Still find it interesting that Monique is listed in first and final episode.

Two things from first episode don't feel right to me:

  1. when Tony and Ollie came out of the pool it seemed like possibly very early evening/ late afternoon - still fair amout of sunlight and some people still in the pool, when he was finishing changing him (Tony had changed already) you could see it was very early dusk but at the time he carried him to the bar by the pool it was really dark.

  2. when police asked parents to provide picture of Ollie, Emily didn't like the picture Tony wanted to give - she said he wasn't smiling on that picture and he WAS happy. Odd thing to say I think.

LineRunner · 27/11/2014 10:36

I am going to have to watch episode 1 again.

forago · 27/11/2014 10:37

yes if this is another Twin peaks / Lost or, even worse, Amber I will be really annoyed at having dedictaed 8 weeks and wasted hours on this thread to it

CrapBag · 27/11/2014 10:40

I think some people are making it far more complicated than its going to be. Grin

Ian and Vincent are not related, they just shared photos.

I think the mayor (George) is also part of the ring which is why Ian gets away with stuff/gets favours.

Policeman in prison was set up.

Nothing with James except he reminds Emily of Ollie and she has used him has some sort of replacement to cope.

Mark, hmm dodgy possibly but I don't think he had anything to do with it.

The only thing Tony and his FIL did has already been revealed, FIL helped cover up Tony beating up care home guy, who Emily did have an affair with (I think). Although Mark does seem to know him and I'm sure it was around the time Emily would have been pregnant but I don't think they would have a series where Tony goes through all this only to find out Ollie want his.

I don't think Baptiste's DD has anything to do with it at all and that's just something there to show another side to his life.

I thought Monique was just random but if she pops up again then maybe not.

Mollie is dead, Ian killed her.

Mary went mad because she knew what Man was and what he did to their daughter.

Vincent was seeing Mary as the old friend in order to tell where what I an really was.

Ollie was taken by trafficking/paedophile ring. It was not planned but crime of opportunity. Cleaning guy involved because he knew that house was empty. I don't think they will find him alive unfortunately but there maybe some sort of closure for Tony.

Mark and Emily will split up.

Journalist will get what's coming to him.

werenotreallyhere · 27/11/2014 10:43

Journo will redeem himself by revealing himself to actually be just a very ambitious journo who will unearth some valuable evidence that he will tell Tony about. It will end with him having Xmas dinner and pulling crackers with Tony and Baptiste.

werenotreallyhere · 27/11/2014 10:43

And maybe Ollie
