OP posts:

Yes that does look quite dated.

Nancyclancy · 26/11/2014 21:24

I think Ian attacked Mary and left her with brain damage and that's why she's in the care home? He attacked her because Vincent had blabbed to Tony?
I can't quite work out the artists connection with Mary, Ian & Vincent, but is the artistic talent a clue, suggesting she is related to Ian??? Possibly his daughter Mollie, but has changed her identity to Monique & has developed a French accent?
Still non the wiser on Ollie!

fuckingpamela · 26/11/2014 21:25

I have just watched last night's episode Shock
I felt sick when he uncovered 53 videos. All those chikdren. I am finding this series hard going because somewhere this kind of thing is happening...children as slaves. Urgh. I need to do something else before I try to get to sleep.

Moln · 26/11/2014 21:36

Have we got a theory to whom Vincent was visiting in Oxford? We know he ended up seeing Mary Garret, but on the bus he said to the old lady that he was visiting an old friend and he didn't know if 'he' was still alive.

reem1 · 26/11/2014 21:38

Now I have to watch the first episode again and look out for any blue eyed woman. I think water has significance too: the pool, Vincent fishing, Ian's boat ... I've noticed how writers add small tiny details - in last episode the yacht was called 'blue rose' a few scenes were showing the name, at the end we see the nursing home's name 'blue rose'. I think there might be more small clues everywhere!

NannyHat · 26/11/2014 21:47

Baptistes wife has blue eyes, but she's too old to be Molly, Mark has red hair and blue eyes as does Vincent. I still think Molly looks like a boy!

Moln · 26/11/2014 21:49

Blue eyed woman? What did I miss?

I noticed the name of the boat (because it was on Mary's bed in the nursing home) but I've not spotted any other blues!

Moln · 26/11/2014 21:53

Oh ok because Molly has blue eyes? Got it.

Yes thought that the picture of Molly she did look a bit like a boy, but then again that might the the time - i know I had a fecking hideous short hairstyle around that time

SomethingFunny · 26/11/2014 21:54

I think I saw a spoiler when watching the first episode. I inadvertently paused and saw a page in the journalists book... But not about what happened to Oliie, just something that is going to happen...

Chefpepperjack · 26/11/2014 22:09

It's not a spoiler if it's already been in the show, it's a clue! TELL!

JammyGeorge · 26/11/2014 22:13

Speak something...

Moln · 26/11/2014 22:20

Tell - indeed!!!

reem1 · 26/11/2014 22:47

I think I saw it too! Not very clear but something about second abduction in 2008 (or maybe 2009) and a boy found in the house near the bridge. I think.

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/11/2014 22:49

So that's how Toni knew it wasn't Ian.

reem1 · 26/11/2014 22:58

One thing I spotted is that when Tony, wife and Ollie were in the cafe just before Ollie insisted on going swimming, at the table right behind them is sitting an older grey hair guy with a white cap - looks a lot like the Romanian gang/cleaning mafia boss. Possibly the same one later walking by the pool. Although it seems like the town is full of grey haired men....

ClapAlongIfYouLike · 26/11/2014 23:00

What if mark indeed was on an undercover mission. The goal being to uncover the ring in this village. His son might have been bait (awful suggestion I know), but because of Ollie and James being similar age and looking alike the wrong boy was taken?

reem1 · 26/11/2014 23:05

And Vincent does look a lot like Molly - maybe Ian's wife knowing that he is a danger to young boys and wanting to protect their son (or her son from previous relationship) was dressing Vincent and bringing him up as a girl (in hope that Ian would not see Vincent as a target if he is a girl) but at some point something went wrong and Vincent stopped being Molly and run away. That might have something to do with hormonal treatment he is undergoing.

Flibbertyjibbet · 26/11/2014 23:06

Clap- yes I had wondered something like that.
bait and there would have been surveillance all round to save him and nab the perpetrators.
mistaken identity and he's just gone.

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/11/2014 23:10

But Vincent went to visit Ian's wife in the home and she's not his mother.

forago · 26/11/2014 23:16

Theres no way its going to be as complicated as we are all making it :)

Can someone do a timeline again?

What I don't understand is , if Tony killed Ian in 2006, wouldnt he just think he had taken and murdered olly? Why is he still looking for who did it in 2014?

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/11/2014 23:19

Because something happened in 2009 and he realised it can't have been Ian, Ian being dead and all.

funambulist · 26/11/2014 23:24

Can Vincent be Molly? In the photograph of Molly as a child she had red hair. Really red hair. I can't believe there'd be no trace of that as an adult and why would Vincent dye it if he hasn't seen Ian for 7 or 8 years.

funambulist · 26/11/2014 23:25

I wonder if Baptiste's leg injury happens in 2009.

forago · 26/11/2014 23:33

So when tony arrives in town in ep1 in 2014, he now knows there was at least 2 paedophiles operating in the area in 2006, Ian and Vincent, and has in fact killed one of them. Wouldn't he be making reference to the "disappeared" Ian to them all to support reopening the case?

EmilyGilmore · 26/11/2014 23:36

Grin I can't believe you all think Vincent is a post-op transexual!
