Count me in.
Shopping list?

herjazz · 26/04/2010 16:30

arf

I feel like my trotters are past the point of rescue. I'd need sommat from hss to get rid of the hard skin. My toes look pregnant. Where would I begin?

orangina · 26/04/2010 16:35

I knew you had started this thread SS, just from the title....

(cackle)

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 16:36

I really need this this year.

cyb · 26/04/2010 16:36

PED EGG PED EGG PED EGG PED EGG PED EGG PED EGG

Now you say

'No, get thee to a chiropodist'

we do it every year

notwavingjustironing · 26/04/2010 16:37

you wait. There'll be mention of a PedEgg in a moment....

AbsOfCroissant · 26/04/2010 16:37

I find that wearing a really, REALLY long skirt negates the need to have lovely feet in summer.

I am, however, in, as they were unleashed in flip flops for the first time on Saturday, and looked RUBBISH.

notwavingjustironing · 26/04/2010 16:37

that'll be a cross post then

cyb · 26/04/2010 16:38

not that I am predictable in any way

notwavingjustironing · 26/04/2010 16:39

or that SS is....

Polgara2 · 26/04/2010 16:40

Ooooh no not Ped Egg - was in agony after I used that damned thing and it has been relegated to the back of the cupboard until I forget about it and then try again (ad infinitum probably!)

MrsMeow · 26/04/2010 16:43

I'm sitting with my feet in a bucket of Vaseline as I type. I really should remove last Decembers nail polish now the weather is getting warmer, I suppose

jamaisjedors · 26/04/2010 16:45

hmm. My 1st appt for a pedicure (chiropodist) is for Friday.

Weather forecast for this week is blistering hot til...

...Thursday.

OliviaMumsnet · 26/04/2010 16:49

On your constant moaning Su, I WENT to a chiropodist expecting baby's bottom soft soles and it was RUBBISH

Would rather a salon pedi tbh

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 16:50

Right well i didnt get on with the ped egg.
i reccomend a trip to a proper chiropodist ( not pedicure woman) to get yourself started. then FLexitol them morning and night.

treat yourself ( funds allowing) to a toe nail quick "file and polish" ( normally only about £5-8.)

you will see a difference in the way they look when osmeone else does it.

in fact paying for say 4 of htose over the summer is really worth it.

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 16:50

oh
at Olivia.
i wonder why

OP posts:
MrsMeow · 26/04/2010 16:52

I couldn't bear to have someone else touching my feet. I tried to use a pumice stone in the shower once and was giggling so much that DH came to see what the hell I was up to.

I'm destined to always have white, cracked heels

OliviaMumsnet · 26/04/2010 16:54

She just said I was complaining about nowt.
Her previous client before me was a 12 y/o Royal Ballet student with properly mangled tootsies from dancing en pointe
Whereas I just had "a bit of hard skin"

LouIsOnAHighwayToHell · 26/04/2010 16:54

Now, if I can just boast a bit, I have lovely feet. How you ask? This way....

Exfoliate with your preferred instrument of torture.
Cover feet in lashings of cream of some sort.
Cover feet with cling film (I kid you not).
Put socks over the top.
Wear all night in bed.
Take off in the morning and
TA DA!! Beeyooootiful feet.

AbsOfCroissant · 26/04/2010 16:56

"treat yourself ( funds allowing) to a toe nail quick "file and polish" ( normally only about £5-8.)"

but where! All the places I've looked (London), it's about £25. I was thinking about getting a professional to sort out this mess (waves at feet), but don't have the time.

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 16:57

you need to live in teh sticks

this is a POLISH only , not massaging to whale music

OP posts:
moondog · 26/04/2010 16:58

Ped Egg is very poorly designed. Hard to hold and then open. Good on sides of toes but not heels I find.

Once a weeek filiing and a couple of nights a week going to bed with socks and Flexitol and a hot water bottle.
Ruthless scrubbing every shower time.

I have just been in v v v hot country for weeks so mine are perfect atm.

Walking in sand helps a lot.

noddyholder · 26/04/2010 16:58

I was going to tackle mine tonight but friend coming for dinner with 3 year old and I will be knackered by the time they go.Can't do little kids anymore [miserable old cow]

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 16:59

yes sand is good.
i have really dry skin and feet like a chicken so i need to be done profeshhhhhhhhhhhhionally. Not some bint armed with a file and an NVQ.
