Yes I worry about going to a chiropodist for fear of an Olivia experience.

BUT had a facial the other week and they said "we could do you a pedicure at the same time". I said "oooh nooo, I'm embarrassed about the state of my feet"

"Yes, I see what you mean" came the reply from the bottom of the chair.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/04/2010 19:32

squeaver - PMSL!

You should have let them get on with it then they would have been an embarrassment no longer!

Tocca · 26/04/2010 19:33

squeaver, you are in North London I think (stalker emoticon needed...)

This place gets a big rec and is a cheapy:

The Nail Bar, 315 Archway Road, Highgate, London, N6 5AA
Tel: 020 8341 0293

from LibertyLondonGirl on her blog. I don't really trust facially type places for tool wielding plus they rack the prices up generally.

duckyfuzz · 26/04/2010 19:39

thanks to pedegg and scholl cream mine are quite nice at the moment, with No7 damson dream on them

squeaver · 26/04/2010 19:56

oh Tocca - thanks. That's such a funny little place, I've never been in, but that's a good blog so will check it out - and report back.

I think they're Korean in there - you know like all the good NY nail people are...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/04/2010 20:06

I started wielding the pumice and flexitol last week as my feet were looking very grim. If you do it everyday for a week you will have lovely soft feet then carry on maintaining it about 1-2 times a week.

What colour nail polish are people using? I've been using the same colours for the past few years and I'm bored of them.

pointydog · 26/04/2010 20:17

my feet are awful just now. Lots of white lines criss-crossing my soles like an A-Z, sort of softly cracked.

Have foot-filed but need to seriously slather with cream

pointydog · 26/04/2010 20:18

clingfilm and socks. Hmmm. I could do that

pointydog · 26/04/2010 20:19

is flexitol a cream?

SoMuchToBits · 26/04/2010 20:26

Yes, you can buy it in Boots.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/04/2010 20:27

If you get hot in bed, don't do the cream and socks thing, it makes you v v hot.

Yes flexitol is a cream Pointy. You can get it in most chemists. The whole horned hooves thing must be a nationwide concern as there is a lot of shelf space in out Boots dedicated to manky feet.

pointydog · 26/04/2010 20:29

keh. will try

ChippyMinton · 26/04/2010 20:44

Might try pumice - sounds reassuringly old-fashioned and non-invasive. TBH anything advertised by JML makes me shudder, apart from those tumble dryer balls.

Moondog - I have trawled high (end) and low (end) searching for a cafe creme polish for the last two summers, and have not found one yet. Not beige, not pale pink, just a lovely pale iced coffee shade. Shout if you track one down!

MrsBadger · 26/04/2010 20:50

I need to join

have got no futher than vaseline and socks once a week but need to grate

JackBauer · 26/04/2010 21:08

How much is a chiropodist visit then? I have a brthday coming up and my feet are pure evil looking. Horrible dry skin, and walking on the beach doesn't make any difference.

I do have a ped egg thing but am always scared it will shave too much off and I wil have to hobble to a and e with bleeding feet having removing all my skin....

AbsOfCroissant · 26/04/2010 22:09

Right.

Have exfoliated, moisturised and covered feet in clingfilm (it's rather odd walking around after this stage ...)

Just need to decide on which colour to paint my BEEyooooTiful tootsies

Habbibu · 26/04/2010 22:18

My toenails are beyond all of you. Either psoriasis or selling my soul to the devil have turned them into pointy talons.

Pretty, ain't I?

HellBent · 26/04/2010 22:21

(oh goody a nail polish thread I need something to take my mind off plumbing crisis in my house right now)

I use Body shop body butter and thick socks for a few days then a nail file. Mine aren't too bad though. Got some Barry M purple stuff on just now

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 22:21

omg we are a sensation

OP posts:
HellBent · 26/04/2010 22:25

What colour is everyone wearing this year then?

SuSylvester · 26/04/2010 22:25

whatever i darend well choose.
( or , correction, whayever ds3 chooses from collection, he says " if you wear this , mummy you will be saying " i am cool and youngg "")

OP posts:
SoMuchToBits · 26/04/2010 22:31

I've never worn toe-nail varnish - mainly because my hooves are so awful I don't want to draw attention to them. My sister however paints hers a different colour every week in the summer, and co-ordinates her clothes to go with them!

JackBauer · 26/04/2010 22:43

I have a metallic blue atm, it was either that or a weird goldybeige colour that looks a bit liek athletes foot. Christ knows what it is doing in my drawer

MamaG · 26/04/2010 22:45

well i'm gazing at myfeet and theya re FINE

or am I missing something?

jjust pink skin!

DarrellRivers · 26/04/2010 22:46

Found my deep moisturising cream, have slathered feet and ensconced in socks. Ready for foot beauty sleep now!
