I'm currently looking at my wardrobe and what I might want to update it for autumn.

I'm mid50s, 5'7" and size 14.

I'm currently looking at these:

Boots

Jacket

And carrot shape jeans.

@Talisin that's a lovely raincoat. I have similar from Ilse Jacobsen which definitely cost more!

petitpasta · 18/09/2026 20:56

Ooh that parka is rather lovely isn't it!?! I have just bought a beautiful orange wool and cashmere coat on vinted so I don't really need another coat but that one isn't orange and is waterproof....

Monndayhello · 18/09/2026 21:11

I had a post work big mooch round the shops tonight - think big city most main stream shops, and was so uninspired. There were a few nice things in Anthropology and some real wool jumpers in seasalt but it was so drap- lots of cord and tent like thick material dresses. I don’t know where to start. I feel I really nailed my summer wardrobe this year and dressing was easy and that I'm back to square one again. I'm an apple with a tummy so it's always a bit difficult anyways.

I bought some barrel leg cords from M&S which are very comfortable and just the right length in the long at 5'10", can't wait to wear them but it's a bit warm at the moment.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/09/2026 09:10

I finally bought the M&S leopard print barrel leg jeans and I’m really pleased with them. Still not found a cropped trench that I love, but I live in hope!

Didn’t need it 🙄 but wandered in to an Italian Zara yesterday and left with this this jacket - pics don’t really show how nice it is, and bonus that € pricing made it a a good amount cheaper.

That’s lovely. Thanks to @Talisin I may have purchased the Tu parka this morning, it won’t hang around long at that price.

I've got a couple of crew neck wool jumpers off Vinted. I realised at the end of last winter that I look really bad in roll neck jumpers so I have got rid of most of them, I've saved one for really cold days.

Cantonet · 19/09/2026 14:42

This scarf- it's shawl sized and 100% cashmere. I bought the smaller leopard variant last year.

I did the same, more because a lovely symptom of menopause seems to be very sensitive skin on my neck and even merino seems to irritate (only my neck, weirdly).

I did this too, I am sure my neck sinks further and further into roll necks as I age. I'm sure I used to be a swan now suddenly I am a turkey! 😂

I know what you mean, sometimes I looked into the mirror and say Professor Umbridge looking back :P

Well, the Tu raincoat turned up yesterday and it’s absolutely beautiful. I’m going to be the chicest dog walker in the county. To say it’s the best value for money I’ve ever had is an understatement.

Glad you love it too (Tu?). Just need the weather to properly autumn so I can wear it now!

And find enough things to fill its multitude of capacious pockets!

TemperanceWest · 25/09/2026 08:59

I saw the Tu raincoat in person yesterday and it is really good value. Am very tempted! It rains a lot here so would get plenty of use.

Go for it. It’s amazing value for money. I reckon it will see me out.

Would someone mind linking the one you’re talking about please? Thank you’

Talisin · 25/09/2026 09:41

I would just point out the Tu coat is shower resistant rather than waterproof.

BobbleBear · 25/09/2026 09:48

Absolutely nothing appeals to me this season.
The colours are drab and boring so I’ll be looking on Vinted for something cheerier.

I was just thinking that one of the buyers should take one for the team and test it under a hose (sorry, watering can or several) before anyone else buys …

Still grumbling about a Mint Velvet ‘raincoat’ with seams like sieves …

BIossomtoes · 25/09/2026 13:21

Mine will very rarely get wet. It’s for dog walking and Jack Russells are as rain averse as I am.

TragicMuse · 25/09/2026 16:16

I think I want some flat laced boots. Not docs, neater than that. Maybe a bit brogue-y.

Do these fit the bill? Sorry about the ridiculous link.
