I'm currently looking at my wardrobe and what I might want to update it for autumn.

I'm mid50s, 5'7" and size 14.

I'm currently looking at these:

Boots
https://lanxshoes.com/collections/womens-boots/products/edgworth-brown-distressed

Jacket
https://www.marksandspencer.com/faux-leather-harrington-jacket/p/clp61227207?color=SAGE&extid=ps_ps-pla-pmax_ggl_ww_ch__-UK-_-_bau_tier1&cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=23464567334&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23459513439&gclid=CjwKCAjwtKrUBhAhEiwAr77ZouxSW1TOKd2eot-kyFgHD7u41KdbxQwXep71n0a8z0pK0sj6BWAaWRoCJVAQAvD_BwE

And carrot shape jeans.

What have you got your eye on?

Pirate boots in M&S, I want to go back to the 00s and these really remind me of some I used to have, although these are less strappy, also unsure if they’ll have the baggy effect but worth a try on. https://www.marksandspencer.com/suede-buckle-strap-mid-calf-flat-boots/p/clp61214918?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share&color=Khaki

These are hideous and I love them 😁

I bought two pairs of Uniqlo baggy curve jersey trousers and they are possibly the perfect trousers. Need a new wool coat.

Same, such a shame it’s a really lovely skirt for the money I reluctantly sent it back would have needed a good six inches chopped off the hem.

It's odd because they have a denim version which isn't anything like as long and I've actually bought tht one. The kilt was actually too long for y 5ft 8 friend so it's crazy long

@petitpasta somewhere in the house I have one to list.
It's the same as this leopard one in silver leather, and I'd be surprised if I used it once. This size just doesn't work for me!
I'd be listing it for £40. Would you like me to link it when I've listed? I won't take offense if it's not what you're looking for!

Yes, I think it's the same one i have already got favourites on vinted. Looks like it might be distressed leather though?

RaraRachael · Yesterday 18:47

I'm always happier when the autumn and winter clothes hit the shops.
Somehow I can always put an outfit together compared to the summer months when I can never achieve a satisfactory look.

anon2022anon · Yesterday 19:07

@petitpasta I think it was this one.
Let me know if you want me to find it so you can see- I'm going away this week, so if you're not interested/ looking for a smooth shiny one, I'll add it to the ever growing Vinted pile, but if it is your style it my as well be listed now 😁 I'll be posting in the next couple of days anyway.

What winter boots have people got in mind this year? I'm not feeling the pirate ones.

user593 · Yesterday 19:25

I bought some black M&S mum jeans and the Thèo jumper from the new Sèzane collection. I have a few brown suede bags I bought in the summer tucked away for Autumn/ Winter and I will be buying this the next time there’s 20% off - https://www.monsoon.co.uk/east-theia-embroidered-lace-maxi-dress-green-80011770078.html.

Trounlet · Yesterday 19:33

Oh, lots of lovely ideas; my list is getting longer.

Luckily I'm off to a big city at the weekend so will be hitting the shops.

A denim version you say 👀 off to investigate.

Same here, summer dressing is just harder. The heat this year made it impossible.

So far I've bought a cashmere cardigan from M & S and this skirt.

I need a milder weather jacket and a couple of dresses too.

I’d like a pair of brown real suede knee high boots, mid heel, kind of cowboy inspired
I’d also like a brown tweed jacket to wear with the boots - skinny jeans tucked in 😱white shirt, heritage style.
I’d also like a cream silk mens opera scarf to wear around my neck and waist, not at the same time!

Is it going to be brown and burgundy again this year? Burgundy is bearable but I'd never wear brown.

MissyB1 · Yesterday 21:56

I disagree that summer dressing is harder. I’ve lived in shorts, t shirts, and flip flops for over two months now, or a dress if I’m
going out anywhere that I need to be a bit smarter. Winter requires so many more clothes- and footwear!

RaraRachael · Yesterday 22:28

@MissyB1that's fine if you have nice summer weather. We didn't.

I want the leather straight leg trousers from M and S Autograph , I wish I’d have grabbed them when I saw them first as all the size 10/12 are now gone, on my wish list , but no luck yet . That’s probably all I need as I have a good stash of nice blouses, cashmere etc etc .

They're gorgeous and in stock now. Hurry, hurry.

Justkoko · Today 06:47

Love autumn dressing. Usually love getting back into my DM Adrian loafers for work but somehow they seem a bit heavy this time round? Looking around for lighter loafers there's a lot of ruching and I'm not so sure about that either... Can't seem to find a happy medium. Failing that I'll go for some beautiful burgundy gazelle types, even if they aren't the most practical....

Where is that from @speakout , I love it. Need somebody to get married in the autumn now so I could justify it...

BangingOn · Today 10:35

I love autumn winter dressing and always have a wish list. I am selling (and buying) lots on Vinted and trying to do ‘one in one out’.

So far I’ve bought this cape back jumper from Dissh:
https://dissh.com/products/daphne-black-knit-cape-top

and this sheer panel Argyle cardigan from AllSaints:
https://www.allsaints.com/women/knitwear/bern-wool-blend-argyle-cardigan/W007KF-5.html?utm_campaign=google_surfaces&utm_content=googlefreelistings

I am on the hunt for interesting skirts to wear with black knitwear and boots. I quite like this from Cos but might go for a vintage equivalent from a heritage brand via Vinted instead:
https://www.cos.com/en-gb/women/womenswear/skirts/midlength/product/box-pleat-checked-wool-midi-skirt-beige-checked-1342913002

I also have a few Comme Des Garçons skirts in my favourites, all with interesting shape or drape. The Vinted algorithms have been dangerously good for me recently.

quirkychick · Today 10:48

@BangingOn that's what I'm doing, though I've sold quite a few bits of summer stuff that had been gathering dust at the back of the wardrobe and only bought a couple of autumn bits so far. That cape is beautiful! I have a secondhand, tartan, midi skirt in a bias cut, that I wear a lot with boots and a jumper. I'm following a lot of Allsaints and Free People stuff - I've ordered a grey free people thin knitted hoodie as an extra layer from Vinted.

RaraRachael · Today 10:55

I need to be a bit more adventurous in my clothes. I only wear jeans, jumpers and boots and when I look at other people's choices they seem quite outlandish for me so I'm stuck.

Oof, @BangingOn that COS skirt is proper 1970s Geography Teacher, isn't it? Personally I struggle with that length.

I fell in love with this Next skirt at the weekend. Really interesting panelled construction.
