Assuming the pics are still loading... But it is never as bad as you think!

Hairhelpasap · 17/03/2026 18:55

I went from almost waist length hair to this earlier today. Was ready for a massive change…not this though! Will post pics from when I first left the salon, all happy about my cut.

This is how it was styled by the stylist so I’m thinking the curls hid a multitude of sins! Ahh

It looks very uneven. Have you talked to the hairdresser about it?

Iamacatslave · 17/03/2026 18:57

Have you been to this hairdresser before?

Ah yes, the pics are still under review (?) but I think I can safely say this is probably even worse than I think. A bit shocked but also strangely amused (self preservation maybe lol)

I would be inclined to agree!

Nincompoo · 17/03/2026 18:58

That is bad and it’s going to be so annoying to grow out and you’re not even going to be able to put it up! Sorry 😢

BillieWiper · 17/03/2026 18:58

It's very choppy isn't it. Is it roughly what you asked for? But you've got lovely hair that looks quite thick. Give it a couple weeks it'll calm down so to speak.

The actual length I think is good and is flattering it's just the level of contrast in the choppiness is a bit harsh. But that's just because it's new.

Don't worry. As I say you've got really nice hair.

Glitchymn1 · 17/03/2026 18:59

I’d complain and want a refund.
Wear it curly until it’s grown out a bit. They’ve ‘cut into it’ as they call it. I only ever ask for a blunt cut or long layers now depending on the stylist.

No I hadn’t seen her before. She seemed a lovely girl though, I don’t want to upset her….but also I cannot walk about with my hair like this

It almost looks like she’s given you a buzz cut around the front of your ear??

MabelAnderson · 17/03/2026 19:00

That looks absolutely hacked at. The layers look very uneven, sort of randomly chopped and it won’t grow out well. Is this a new hairdresser for you ?
You have lovely hair, and it will grow, but I think it needs sorting into a better shape.

Bogorf · 17/03/2026 19:01

Agree with a PP it looks rather uneven. Can you go back to the hairdresser and ask them to rectify? Either way your hair looks very healthy and shiny - could experimenting with the parting help at all?

exhaustedandoverit · 17/03/2026 19:01

The fringe is a bit baffling. Is it longer at the front than the back?
did you say you were likely to curl it all the time or have it straight at times? If the latter I’d straighten it and go back to see what they could even it out a bit. Keeping it styled daily will be a nightmare otherwise.
On the plus side you have really lovely hair!

ihatecatlitter · 17/03/2026 19:01

Is the fringe bit longer and then it gets shorter again?? It looks great in the photo where it’s curled - you may have to spend some time learning how to replicate that til it grows out a bit. You do have lovely hair though, don’t despair. Rather have nice hair like you in a dodgy cut than forever-crap hair.

Not yet. I’m wondering what the hell to do next. I’ve been out all day (looking like this 😂), then come home and had a closer look. Do you think I should go back or cut (lol) my losses and go to a different salon?

on a side note I love the William Morris top!

minnowonthesay · 17/03/2026 19:01

I think realistically you need to blow dry it straight and then take some pics. The layers don’t look terribly blended but that may be your hair just separating, so stay it, blow dry it straight and then let’s see it- you’ll also get able to send those pics to the salon so they can advise you further.

NewGoldFox · 17/03/2026 19:02

You have lovely hair and will be able to style the cut out however it looks like a pretty bad cut to me. Is it a wolf cut? Or something along those lines?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 17/03/2026 19:03

What did you ask for?

I’ve just about managed to slick it up into a bobble and a hair slide until I can get this sorted, phew!

MabelAnderson · 17/03/2026 19:04

Looking again I could do a better job than that, and I’m not a hairdresser…
I think the only answer is to lose more length and even it out along the bottom, that huge chunk she has taken out of one side… what on earth was she thinking ? Because there are such big gaps and it’s so uneven, it won’t ‘settle down’ or look better as it grows, it really does need to be cut again so that you can then grow it for a while and regain some length.

I think it probably seems worse than it is because you've had so much cut off in one go. I would wash it tomorrow and see what it's like when you style it yourself – I often find a salon blowdry makes my hair look ultra fine because it's so smoothed down. Then I'd give it a few days to settle before I went back to complain. I absolutely wouldn't go back to get it cut again though, because it might end up even shorter.
