Your hair is lovely, but that cut looks uneven. Can another hairdresser tidy it up? Its annoying but it will grow out.

VividDeer · 18/03/2026 19:54

I had a similar disaster once. I didnt go back or ask for a refund, but never went again. Your reminds me of the cut I had. Mine was straight so difficult to hide. Had to grow it out.
Sorry op, I wouldn't let the same person try and fix this

toottoot3 · 18/03/2026 20:01

You do have lovely hair, just not a good haircut! It will grow, but nothing wrong with phoning hairdressers, discuss problems without being face to face if your anxious, send photos, give them a chance to decide actions plan. It doesn't have to be a big issue

Nicenspicy44 · 18/03/2026 20:05

Blimey! What on earth did she use to cut it? A spoon??

Aussiesgettingsmashed · 18/03/2026 20:09

Did you do it yourself?

Ileithyia · 18/03/2026 20:11

Presenting a selection of pics of the redone do’:

Wow, that’s a huge difference! That’s a really nice cut now, I’d like to know what it looks like if you let it dry naturally or diffuse your waves, but it was definitely worth going back.

NewGoldFox · 18/03/2026 20:42

Agree with others the cut looks better now. Well done you for going back and getting it sorted and sounds like they handled it really well.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 18/03/2026 21:03

I cant believea hairdresser coul do this to your hair unless ahe was really stoned or dead drunk

Is this post yet another silly Mumsnet wind up?

ForQuirkyFawn · 18/03/2026 21:48

Have you considered a wig?....

Zerosleep · 18/03/2026 21:59

So glad you went back. Correction looks so much better. Glad they sorted you.

BaileyHorse · 18/03/2026 22:23

Well done for going back and sounds like a decent salon to me and have treated you really fairly. Hair looks great!

MaIeficent · 18/03/2026 22:23

I'm not sure what you could possibly say to make them chop it that unevenly! Did they cut it while it was still curly or something? My partner has a curly beard and if they don't pull it out with a comb before trimming it looks uneven when wet/straight.

MaIeficent · 18/03/2026 22:26

Update is a big improvement!

user1492757084 · 18/03/2026 22:45

Use a mouse product to keep it how you find it acceptable until it grows out a bit.

That is SO much better. Yay! I’m really pleased for you that you went back and another stylist sorted it out for you

MsAmerica · 19/03/2026 03:36

Two pieces of advice:

1.If you asked for something specific, complain to the cutter and the manager.
2.Otherwise, remember that it's only hair, and it grows out quickly.

oldmoaner · 19/03/2026 07:31

I don't really know What to say, it may not be as bad as you think. Your used to long hair all one length? When it's cut and layered and especially curled it looks great till curls start to drop out and your not used to styling your own
hair. It took me 2-3 weeks to get used to doing mine. Id say persevere and if your still unhappy go to a different hairdresser and ask their opinion before you book an appointment. Have you got curling tongues or something to do your hair!

JournalistEmily · 19/03/2026 08:25

Looks nice when you left but yep the later pix are a mess. I’d cut it short so there is less of a gap between the layers. At the moment it’s kind of mullet-like. Noone else but you will notice tho, I wdnt worry!

LOL

Before I start to come across completely self-obsessed, this is how my hair looks when I wear it wavy (I know, I know, I still need to work out how to style it properly…definitely look better from the back on curly days!)
Anyway, you everyone for being lovely and making me feel so much better than I felt when I first panic-posted!

You have beautiful hair.

MargotLovesTom · 19/03/2026 12:50

That looks fab! Much better than the poker straight look.

MiaKulper · 19/03/2026 12:51

Looks great, @Hairhelpasap
