You asked for a wolf cut, and it does indeed look like a wolf did that to you.

(Hope ypu get it sorted. You do have lovely hair.)

Shatteredallthetimelately · 17/03/2026 20:18

You need to go back and let them see the cut as it is now and let them know you're not happy, ask for a refund but I wouldn't let them near your head again.

There’s where I got it ❤️, it’s the dress version. A right bargain in the sale as well!

Yes! Mine is the blouse and it was 70% off in the sale.

Doggymummar · 17/03/2026 20:20

What is wRONG WITH IT, looks like a wolf cut

Nellynoo182 · 17/03/2026 20:24

I think it could be improved if it’s a wolf cut you’re after, maybe you need a choppy fringe or curtain bangs to disguise the bits at the front whilst they grow out?

Curlywurlyfrizzylizzy · 17/03/2026 20:25

Dolphinnoises · 17/03/2026 19:14

That upwards line is usual in cuts for curly hair. Have you tried diffusing it?

Why is this the case please? I have naturally curly hair and have had this done to mine a few times by hairdressers, always hated it and never understand why. Means even years later I still tuck my hair behind my ear out of habit to hide it

Bloodycrossstitch · 17/03/2026 20:32

Hairhelpasap · 17/03/2026 19:08

thank you! A wolf cut is what I asked for, we spoke about how long I’d want it and the fact my hair is naturally wavy, but that I mostly wear it straight so a cut that would work for both. We agreed on just below shoulder length. I didn’t mind how short she went as it needed a good chop.
But there are some pieces that are about two inches short randomly dotted about, then the missing chunk, and then the long piece at the front she’s left in for some reason 😂

I’m not even remotely experienced at cutting hair and still have managed to give myself a passable wolf cut so I don’t know how she’s managed to mess it up that badly.

From my experience I think she’s cut your fringey bits (again not hair dresser 😅) in back to front

lulubalu · 17/03/2026 20:41

I REALLY like it! Sure, it's definitely not what you asked for, but I like all the 'choppy-ness' - give it a week or so for you to adjust to such a big change in length / style and see how you feel then?

BerryTwister · 17/03/2026 20:41

I had to google wolf cut, and looking at what google images showed, I think that’s what you’ve got. They all look uneven and choppy, like yours. I honestly don’t think yours looks any different from most of the images shown.

EmeraldRoulette · 17/03/2026 20:46

I'm also wondering about that upward line that a PP mentioned

I ended up cutting my own hair in the first place partly because it was expensive but partly because I often hated what the hairdresser did. I'm not sure what this upward line thing means, but maybe that's what the problem is when someone does it in a way I don't like.

Hairhelpasap · 17/03/2026 20:46

MargotLovesTom · 17/03/2026 19:40

What does it look like when you tuck it behind your ears?

Loads better when I tuck it behind ears

Right, I wet it and diffused it and now that it’s sprang into curls it looks much better (no pic this time but similar to the pic I posted when I emerged from the salon but natural curls instead of the ones she blow dried in)

I mustn't be looking at the same pictures, as I think your hair is lovely and you look beautiful.

So kind of you, thank you 🥰

This is good news!

Bogorf · 17/03/2026 19:01

on a side note I love the William Morris top!

Me too 😆

The fringe angle at the side IYSWIM is really severe.

OP why did you trust a hairdresser who hadn't cut your hair before to do such a drastic restyle?

Neveranynamesleft · 17/03/2026 21:06

Never mind that you dont want to upset her, it's uneven and you should go back.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 17/03/2026 21:11

Solidarity, OP. I had the worst hair cut of my life just before Christmas and I suspect the hairdresser strayed into a wolf cut (which I hadn't heard of before this thread). It's supposed to be a bob with a few layers but she didn't show me the back of it and as soon as I washed it, it went to shit. Very short bits on top, a much longer bit at the back . . .
As one friend said to me, 'at least it's hair. It'll grow.' It can't grow soon enough for me!

GlomOfNit · 17/03/2026 21:11

Definitely go back OP, it looks like a demented 3 year old got hold of mummy's scissors while mummy was having a much-needed nap!

But ... even though I can see it's a badly executed cut, your hair is so thick and glossy and healthy it doesn't look entirely bad. I'd get your money back though! I really envy you your beautiful hair and I suspect it would be hard to make it look bad.

Maybe go back and ask her to talk you through styling it? Is there someone more senior in the salon who could help also.
I’d be wary of cutting more off as when it was styled it looks good in the pictures.
Love wolf cuts, tempted to get one myself for summer 🤘

Goinggreymammy · 17/03/2026 21:13

I think you should wash it and try to style it yourself before ringing the salón. Take more photos (of the missing chunk, long part at front etc) and have them ready to send on during the conversation if necessary. Also decide in advance what you want... I suggest ask for a refund saying you don't feel confident or comfortable going back there.

I wouldn't get it cut even shorter as that will be a pain to grow out. A good stylist should be able to even it out a bit. And then just wait. I had some shockers of cuts and colours back in my 20s and 30s, because I was willing to try anything and knew it would grow out quickly. It always grows back faster than you expect, especially such beautiful healthy hair as yours.

Jane143 · 17/03/2026 21:14

Looks ok to me!

Booboobagins · 17/03/2026 21:18

Is she qualified? It looks like she's a student. What a terrible cut. But you are blessed with thick hair, so hopefully you can't see it. I would go back to the hairdressers and get them to look at what can be done or get a refund and leave a bad review.

If you're in London go visit Vidal Sassoon Academy, seriously the best place to get a good haircut and advice. I'd go there in about 10/12 weeks and ask them for advice.

lauraloulou1 · 17/03/2026 21:22

I think your hair looks great! Soft shing strong locks! You rocking it! It will grow - it looks so strong tho so dont do anything mad with extensions and ruin the strength😘

I love mine, so glad the hairdresser went mad with it.

Surprised a lot of people on the thread cant recognise the style and think theres something wrong with it.
