Great job.
Bloody hell, what must they have thought of that other job, shocking bad.
It really looks great now.
You have lovely hair.
Enjoy.

That looks a million times better - I hope they didn't charge you?! And will you ever go back to that salon?

I also got a full refund. They insisted on it. The lady who did my hair today gave me her number so if I go back I can ask for her specifically. I feel bad for the young woman who did my original cut- I hope she doesn’t get into trouble. I was taken round the back to have photos taken before I was brought over for my hair wash and I think I heard them saying she should’ve been in today but wasn’t answering her phone :/

Two of them were holding some of my layers up and shaking their heads and saying they couldn’t believe how they’d been cut and sympathising. I was treated so nicely today. I was half expecting to be told my hair was fine and that I was trying my luck going back in!

Well done for going back, OP. So often we just scuttle out of hairdressers and cry at home, don't we?

Thatcannotberight · 18/03/2026 15:56

That looks so much better, really pretty. Well done for going back and, thankfully, the other stylists vindicated those of us who said it was bad cut the first time.

Girlwithavibe · 18/03/2026 16:05

It's good that they agree that it was deffo very badly done by a stylist that's not qualified I would imagine !
I can't think how wrong it cud be if she was qualified it makes no sense I'm a stylist and when your cutting hair all day everyday u know when something has been done incorrectly!
It looks better because it's more blended but there is so much hair missing from that side it's unreal !
Glad your hair grows super fast !! X

TheQueenOfTheNight · 18/03/2026 16:09

Good for you for going back, you've done everyone a favour. Good hairdressers say they'd prefer us to give them a chance to fix issues but I know not all are good hairdressers. If the original stylist gets some extra training then you've done your good deed for the day.

SadSaq · 18/03/2026 16:40

So much better!

Shatteredallthetimelately · 18/03/2026 16:51

Lovely to read of an establishment that doesn't make you feel awful for complaining and are only to willing to put things right.

Do you know if the the previous person that cut your hair was employed by the salon or rents a chair?

She’s probably on here and saw your post yesterday! We all have off days though, I’ve been using the same hairdresser for 20 years - she’s wonderful but I did have one bad cut once… she was heavily pregnant with twins though so I let her off 🤣

It looks much better, I bet your so relieved!

CautiousLurker2 · 18/03/2026 17:09

It’s a gorgeous cut now - so pleased it’s resolved to some extent and you can literally hold your head up high. Sounds as though the original stylist may be signing on next week. :(

Inspired by you, I’ve actually booked an appointment to have a long wolf cut myself tomorrow (it’s actually pretty much how I had my hair 15or so years ago but was just called a long layered cut back then LOL).

cucumber4745 · 18/03/2026 17:58

Never let them curl your hair after a cut! Really should be left straight so you can see it. Glad they have sorted it.

Doverboy · 18/03/2026 18:06

The difference between a good cut and a bad cut is 2 weeks.

Zerosleep · 18/03/2026 18:09

What a mess they have made. Surprised you went to someone new the first time for such a major cut. Let it grow out and go elsewhere. I would want my money back though.

TheSunjustcameout · 18/03/2026 18:11

Hairhelpasap · 17/03/2026 19:11

I’ll definitely wash it again in the morning, straighten it as I normally would and then see what I’m working with
Does anyone think this hair do would be a realistic ‘correction’?

No.
I would leave it to grow at this point - try curling it when you out so it's hidden and otherwise try tying it into a ponytail or bun etc.

Wildefish · 18/03/2026 18:13

Hairhelpasap · 17/03/2026 18:59

No I hadn’t seen her before. She seemed a lovely girl though, I don’t want to upset her….but also I cannot walk about with my hair like this

I’m the same with hairdressers. But seriously where else would you pay a small fortune for something you don’t like , walk out with a false smile
and say nothing. It’s crazy!

veggietabless · 18/03/2026 18:17

I looked up a wolf cut and Google AI described it as a choppy mullet - I think your original stylist took that a bit too literally! Fortunately you're gorgeous and could carry anything off, but the new cut is a huge improvement. Well done for going back!

YelramBob · 18/03/2026 18:29

OP I'm glad you got your hair sorted ❤️ It looks great now.

Can I ask though, why did you ask for a wolf cut? As someone who's spent the last two years growing their hair after chemo, I don't understand why people choose such an unflattering ugly- hairstyle. Also reminds me of the Dudley Moore/Demi Moore haircut from Friends 😅

Primmyhill · 18/03/2026 18:35

It’s 2 styles in one. Sorry, it’s a bit of a dogs dinner to be really honest but it will grow back! Rubbish cutters usually do a great blow dry to hide their poor cut. It’s only when you wash it and do it yourself and you think WTF?

Moonandstarsandsun · 18/03/2026 18:47

Oh it looks so much better. You’ve got gorgeous hair so shiny and healthy

deste · 18/03/2026 19:04

I dont know how anyone can comment yet as your hair has been curled. I would wash it again, straighten it if you normally do and then put in another photo. I did notice the bit at the front and side but if you wash it out you can then get proper advice.

You never get the cut identical to the picture you show the stylist sadly but it looks lovely give it a couple of days to settle down & for you to learn how to style your new cut once you’ve done that you’ll love it.

But I’m now worried because my daughter is talking about having her hair cut & hers is past her bum it’s going to have me in tears x

SquallyShowersLater · 18/03/2026 19:26

She's gone for quite extreme disconnected layers at the sides, hasn't she? That massive great wedge cut out of the side is going to make it a PITA to style. I've had hairdressers do that to me a couple of times and I was absolutely gutted. You'll just have to sit it out and wait for it to grow, or have the whole lot cut shorter.

Not yet. I’m wondering what the hell to do next. I’ve been out all day (looking like this 😂), then come home and had a closer look. Do you think I should go back or cut (lol) my losses and go to a different salon?

Different salon. I had something similar (but worse) happen a few years ago and there was no way she was going near it again !! 😂
