It looks lovely when it's wavy OP.
I thought the poker straight version looked a bit raggy although much better than the original disaster but with those waves it looks fantastic!
So glad you got it sorted.

Looks like a big chunks been cut out the side. Should ask for a refund.

Uglydumpling · 23/03/2026 17:45

How much did you pay?

that is key

Presenting a selection of pics of the redone do’:

Looks to me like it’s not a great hairdresser - looks ok but go somewhere better next time

There was only so much she could do with it to be fair to her

Before I start to come across completely self-obsessed, this is how my hair looks when I wear it wavy (I know, I know, I still need to work out how to style it properly…definitely look better from the back on curly days!)
Anyway, you everyone for being lovely and making me feel so much better than I felt when I first panic-posted!

Your hair looks lovely now, both straight and wavy. I’m so pleased for you that the salon sorted it out in a professional way. What do you use to get waves like that? My hair is straight and flat and I’m hopeless at styling. Please give me hope!

Oh thank you! I’m really quite rubbish with hair I’m afraid. Those pics are just how it goes when I diffuse it with some mousse or gel (any cheap one will do), I don’t wear it like that very often because it just takes soooo long to dry when diffusing and it’s also unpredictable. No two ‘curly’ days are ever the same for me, I haven’t quite cracked it. Whereas if I straighten it I know it will look exactly the same every day, be quicker and have a bit of shine.

I disagree - you can tell the skill of the hairdresser by the finish - and the ends in this cut

don’t get me wrong it’s-perfectly acceptable and it looks lovely on you but just not done by very outstanding hair dresser - despite them being senior imv

I would pay more if I were you - especially as you have such gorgeous hair

what did they say about the original cut?

I think because there was so much from the sides just cut clean off ✂️, to do a better cut on it would’ve meant taking loads more off, but then maybe you know more than me, if I was to go for another cut elsewhere what would you advise I ask for?

They were SO mad and upset when they saw my first hair cut when I returned. I didn’t even really need to say anything. One of them remembered how long my hair had been from seeing me previously and her face was like this: 😱

Gosh you were brave to go back!

it’s big enough thing to go from waist length to shoulder - you want it done right

i don’t really have any advice on what to go for, just to find a better salon - you can tell by the price - I’m embarrassed to say I pay £110 for mine but the hairdresser is so skilled and I always feel transformed - plus I don’t have to go so often so money evens out - and I have very fine hair so it needs a really good cut to look great

the edges don’t look well finished with precision but it’s fine for now - you’re luckily it grows quick - lovely hair
