I'm not sure if it's anything like cinnabar, but if you want 'depth spice and staying power ' i highly recommend safran secret by crivelli which is an extrait. Has to be scrubbed off the next day if you don't want it lingering.

SOTE was Musc Ravageur from Malle. I like it. Two scents I like in one day!

Love that one

Baccarat rouge edp today. It's OK, don't get the hype. A like not a love. Maybe the extrait is better but it costs around a million pounds.... I got this from the discovery set. Not too keen on mfk as a house, I'm sure they do great perfumes but I find them w bit too blended and sanitized for me

Guerlain Pamplelune today

HolidayHattie · 12/06/2025 18:53

Saltworks Neroliander today. It's a very orangy scent, refreshing, not in the least subtle but nice for hot weather.

I've decided to work my way through a few Neroli scents; I've got the M&S Provenance discovery set, three of which contain Neroli, then Tocca Liliana, finishing with Mat Prem Neroli Oranger.

I think one of you brilliant perfumistas said you have a spreadsheet for your scents. I wish I had done that from the off, so I could sort by Neroli and see which of my samples have it. I tried on Fragrantica but it brought up hundreds of things I haven't got.

HolidayHattie · 13/06/2025 13:16

M&S Neroli Blush today. It's pleasant enough but reminds me of a bubble bath I used to have. Not really enough to keep me interested.

CorneliaStreet · 14/06/2025 17:58

I’ve just ordered the 7 Virtues discovery set. Not tried anything from this brand before but have heard good things about Vanilla Woods in particular, so looking forward to trying them out.

I'm one of the people who can't smell this one - apparently that's not uncommon. Every time I've been somewhere that sells MFK I keep trying...and I get nothing. It's really weird.

HolidayHattie · 15/06/2025 14:23

Yesterday I wore Tocca Liliana. The notes say Neroli, Watery Peach and Muguet, which I had to look up and it's lily of the valley. Weirdly, the main note I got initially was cucumber (not listed) then the florals followed. It was lovely for a warm day.

Today M&S Warm Neroli. Not getting as much Neroli as in other scents, but some warmth with a bit of spice.

I've realised that I also have a sample of Maison Crivelli Neroli Nasimba so, if I can find it, that's another one to add to the list.

IDontHateRainbows · 15/06/2025 16:56

Eau de soleil blanc today from scent addict. It's nothing like soleil blanc. Think it may have neroli in if that's your thing @HolidayHattie . Im meh on neroli, never really been drawn to it. But I'm always up for trying new directions and some scents I didn't like at first I've really got into, like amber.

Is that the Tom Ford eau de soleil Blanc? Think I have a small sample of soleil blanc but not eau de.

I'm still trying to educate my nose and I thought a good way to do that was to try different perfumes with the same main ingredient. Enjoyed the neroli ones I tried on hols so thought I would continue. They're mostly good for summer weather imo.

Yes, it's a new one quite reasonably priced for a TF although I got a sample as part if my subscription to scent addict.
Much prefer the original soleil blanc but it's not bad, I will still enjoy wearing it and good to try new things

Chloe Vanilla Planifolia today. This is like a lighter version of jpg la belle - in that a floral, green vanilla perfect for summer. Slightly reminiscent of a freshly peeled green banana although there is no banana listed as a note.

M&S Under the Palms on my wrists and MMM Beach Walk on my elbows. At first sniff, these are extremely similar; I would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Last week a friend and I did some comparisons of a few M&S against the designer frags they supposedly dupe and in all cases I felt the proper one had more depth/was better, but this is much closer.

Magpiecomplex · 16/06/2025 18:40

Guerlain Pamplelune again today. I have students who need to get work in asap and wanted a no-nonsense perfume to match!

Blingismything · 16/06/2025 18:45

Escada Magnetism. The re-incarnation is a poor imitation of its predecessor.

Zoetrope1 · 17/06/2025 00:39

Jovoy fire at will today, a nice vanilla.

angelandspike · 17/06/2025 01:28

Phlur missing person today. Had an interview and wanted it to be subtle

paristotokyo · 17/06/2025 06:04

Nest indigo today as my comfort scent. Lovely figgy black tea. Wanted to test it in the tropical heat and it’s doing well

IDontHateRainbows · 17/06/2025 08:32

Nest Indigo is on my 'to try' list as i love tea scents.

Wearing Carolina Herrera very good girl elixir today as I'm getting obsessed with the stilettos and I love cherry! I've been taking advantage of the Herrera offer where they send a 7ml mini to try when you buy a bottle with no obligation to keep the bottle - I will keep one of them eventually but in the mean time having fun trying the different flankers. Very good girl is similar to the elixir a bit rosier. Very good girl glam is also nice. Not so keen on the blush which is a bit too floral.

As for my next move I got a bit excited last night when I saw that Notino are doing an offer + free postage on Maison Margiela Replica. Ordered the 10ml purse spray of afternoon delight and also the summer set (in the garden/beach walk/lazy sunday) Will defo keep beach wallk and afternoon delight. Maybe ITG if to my liking. Came to £75 including a candle and mini shower gel so not a bad price for all that.

OG EA green tea post gym. This one will live in my gym bag, I think. It’s perfect

HolidayHattie · 17/06/2025 14:53

Limão Taiti & Néroli by Granado. Very clean and fresh, uncomplicated.

IDontHateRainbows · 17/06/2025 18:28

Vanilj by Maja Njie today - I got inspired by this brand after getting the liberty fathers day beauty bag which had the nordic cedar. The vanilj is a slightly sweeter version but still quite pine-y and medicinal. Found a sample house doing samples at really reasonable price. I like it. Its like I thought Deep Dark Vanilla by Ds and Durga would be (but really, really wasn't)

Piano Santal, it’s a milky sandalwood skin scent. It’s a bit too lactonic for me (I dislike bianco latte for reference) - it reminds me of a mug of warm milk with the skin on top, but I can see the appeal.
