"Acne Studios' name has two meanings: it originated as an acronym for Associated Computer Nerd Enterprises when the brand started as a creative collective in 1996, but the acronym was later changed to a backronym: Ambition to Create Novel Expressions. Founder Jonny Johansson chose the name to decontextualize the word "acne," making a negative word associated with youth into something cool and high-fashion"

The perfume wouldn't be everyone taste, very laundry like but the only laundry like scent I like.

Does anyone here like Saltworks perfumes? I have a £25 voucher going spare. Can be used either on a full bottle or on 3x 10ml size (which works out at 3 for the price of 2.)
Got it in one of their Discovery Sets. Nothing wowed me enough to buy further.
Voucher valid till early Feb next year.
Message me and I’ll send you the code.

Gingerbread for me today

OvaHere · 04/10/2025 14:30

Trying the Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit scent today. I manage to get a 10 ml on ebay to try and it arrived this morning. I really like it but suspect it won't last long on the skin, that's fine though as the 10ml wasn't that expensive. Lovely cosy autumn scent.

MiaN · 04/10/2025 17:35

I spayed it 6 am this morning and I can still smell it. It lasts better then other Jo Malone perfumes

Its ginger biscuit I am wearing, not gingerbread. I keep calling it gingerbread as that's what it reminds me of

It is better lasting than I thought it would be. I've had it on since around lunchtime and it's still holding on okay.

I think I really like this. may consider a larger bottle as I think it's a Ltd ed this time of year.

I’m wearing Kayali Vanilla 28 this evening, layered with a body lotion called Campfire Marshmallow. It’s a good combo.

Lurkingshark · 04/10/2025 20:08

I’m wearing a cheapy Yardley Opulent Rose.

I’m a bit disappointed that I’ve no scent advent calendar. None of them float my boat and I was waaay too late for harrods. I’m hoping to refill an old one with some kits or samples for the whole family. DH and I shared the HN one last year and it was nice to share.

IDontHateRainbows · 05/10/2025 11:42

Liberty Rosinda today, which is a nice gentle
Rose. Not usually a rose fan but I do like it.

On the other hand, the liberty 1875

There must be loads of minis on ebay and vinted, you could buy 24 and get someone to randomly put them in an empty calendar?

Bed time scent is rodriguez for her - a fruity gourmand. I seem to need to use loads to get much sense of it - probably because I am so used to perfume my nose needs more - but I feel like I have to almost pour it on me to get it to have any impact.

Ended up giving some of the liberty samples to the relative I was staying with this weekend, which was appreciated. I'm trying to get them into perfume.

Hi please could I ask here if anyone has ever tried glossier you doux? If so, is there any perfume you think of that smells like it? I love it so much but I don’t feel it lasts very long and would like something a little more lasting for Christmas nights out etc.

I used wiki parfum and it recommended gisada verde which I ordered and it’s a big no it smells nothing like it too me and is too masculine for me.

any advice appreciated. Xx

keepincool · 06/10/2025 11:01

SOTD is Mmmm by Juliette Has a Gun. Randomly picked from my newly created mini perfume holder 😊which i found when tidying the spare room at the weekend. I think it's a cheapy from B&M.

Thanks for the storage tip @QueefofSheena

Scent of the day part Four - the friendly perfumistas still perfuming!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that perfume so I'm unable to help. Hope you find something 🤞

JoRaRaRa · 06/10/2025 11:38

My SOTD is Warm Air by Born to stand out, it has notes of animalic musk, tonka and amber gris. It's lovely 😍 I got it as a sample in a pack of 5 at the hbeauty event yesterday, I'm planning to try them over the next week or so. I'm not sure how long they will last on me, so I won't be sampling when I go into the office on weds and Thurs.

I got the whipped soap to try! It smells lovely

SOTD is Jo Loves Amber, Lime and Bergamot. Starts off citrusy and then you get warm amber and patchouli. I really like this. Perfect for a crisp Autumn day.

MiaN · 06/10/2025 17:48

Xerjoff Lira again

I keep looking at the Jo Loves advent calendar - but resisting as I can't really justify it at £375.00 - when I totted up the value of the items it includes it comes to around £672 so not a big enough saving for me at the moment

That really does look lovely, but I agree with you about the price. I also find the longevity poor on some of the fragrances. Will try not to be tempted!

IDontHateRainbows · 07/10/2025 11:01

Unfortunately everything smells weird right now as I have a virus! May need to take some time out and live vicariously through you guys!

Put Crivelli ambre chromatique on which usually i love but it smells yuk today!

Vol de Nuit again today, very much enjoying it at the moment. Doesn't feel cold enough for proper autumn scents yet, to me.

OvaHere · 07/10/2025 21:33

Wore the Diptyque sample today as it was in my make up bag and I was in a rush. It's Rose something I think. It's grown on me a lot since I got it. Enough so I'm thinking maybe I'd like the AC next year to try more stuff out.
