No fragrance, just the Hinoki hand cream today. Smells amazing!

Which Juliette has a gun fragrance? My favourite is pear Inc

‘Not a perfume’ - reminds me of molecule 01 - definitely a new favourite.

HolidayHattie · 09/06/2025 09:04

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. I love this; I wish I could afford it. I've bought a much cheaper neroli but I can't remember the make.

SillyMillie90 · 09/06/2025 10:58

A sample of Juliette has a gun - Lipstick Fever. Smells exactly like a vintage lipstick or your Mum’s makeup bag in the 80s. I really like the smell but not sure it’s something I’d choose to wear. Giving it the whole day though.

EvelynBeatrice · 09/06/2025 11:02

@HolidayHattie Luxe do a summer neroli perfume that is rather nice. I tried it after Nuxe discontinued the lovely ‘ Le matin de Possibles’ which smelled lemony gorgeous on me and was also an excellent mosquito repellent 😒

My fave Juliette perfume is vanilla vibes - it's a beachy, salty vanilla

The perfume I bought yesterday was Adolfo Dominguez Neroli Ecstasy.

I tried their Musc Invisible last week and quite liked it but haven't tried the others. I have a sample of one of them somewhere.

HolidayHattie · 10/06/2025 13:33

Ruler by Argentum. Liking it so far.

IDontHateRainbows · 10/06/2025 14:45

Well well well. I've been in liberty, in London today.
The vanilj by maya njie was very nice but not worth £95 price tag.
Also special mention to the new vanilla by bibbi
I bought a surge lutens discovery set on discount at £45 for 4 x 5ml

Not many other discovery sets there
Will update once tried

Harvey Nichols has 15% off most of their fragrances for anyone who’s been waiting for a sale …

IDontHateRainbows · 10/06/2025 17:36

So many lovely fragrances in liberty and the perfume lounge in the basement is amazing but alas! I'm not a millionaire. And if I was, I wouldn't be one for much longer if I spent a lot of time there. A bit disappointed at the lack of discovery sets, I guess they want people to buy full bottles. There was an 8ml fugazzi limited edition called purple something which smelt like parma violets but I always find fugazzi quite brash and in your face. I would have bought the bibbi vanilla factory if they did a travel size but they only do 100ml bottles which is a big commitment.
I'm pretty much only buying travel sizes these days, occasionally 30ml if not too pricey, but liberty was disappointing short of mini sets.

Good to try a few things out and if I ever win the lottery I'd be going for a consultation in the perfume lounge.

@IDontHateRainbows Euromillions jackpot is over £200 mil tonight. That would buy a lot of very expensive stuff.

OvaHere · 10/06/2025 21:09

@IDontHateRainbows I love Liberty for perfume. It's my favourite store to browse (and buy). I don't get to go very often but I prefer it to Harrods or Selfridges. I sniffed the purple Fugazzi last time I was there and agree about the Parma Violets.

Have you tried the Fugazzi Cash Flowers? I bought that one on my London trip last month though embarrassingly it's still unopened because I've been trying to make a dent in some others. I can't remember now how it smelt but I know I liked it.

Yesterday I bought some sunglasses in Duty Free and got a 20% off perfume and beauty voucher with the purchase so I bought Caroline Herrera Good Girl Blush. I think it was you that recommended it on this thread. If it was thank you. It's really nice and probably quite office friendly.

I need to ban myself from Duty Free on the way home! 😁

4160T Dancing With Strangers today. I'm invigilating this morning so I want something unchallenging.

Zoetrope1 · 11/06/2025 08:13

Santal complet today. And just ordered the miller Harris discovery set half price! Any favourites from those familiar with this brand?

paristotokyo · 11/06/2025 09:30

Came across my fragrances today whilst finally unpacking my things. Haven’t worn anything in weeks. Today is molecule 01 +ginger. Clean and fresh but settles a little sweet. I like it a lot

Zoetrope1 · 11/06/2025 09:58

@paristotokyo i really like it too! My favourite of the Molecule +1 collection.

HolidayHattie · 11/06/2025 13:53

Goldfield & Banks Mystic Bliss. Herbal / woody but not heavy. I like it.

IDontHateRainbows · 11/06/2025 14:20

I seem to have become obsessed with carolina herrera good girl range recently. Passed john lewis on my travels ( I got lost at canary wharf!) and tried good girl glam. Not sure it's better than vgg elixir but I was getting a bit tired of that one. The good girl blush I'm not sure about, too floral/ rose-y.

Can anyone recommend something that is close to the old Estee Lauder Cinnabar? I am on the last of a vintage bottle (red lid) a friend got me for a big birthday a few years ago and the current version is a travesty in comparison - completely lacking in depth, spice and staying power (in fact the only thing it has in common with the original is the name!). Has anyone had any success getting their own signature scent done? I was thinking that might be an option otherwise

CorneliaStreet · 11/06/2025 19:34

@Zoetrope1 My absolute favourite Miller Harris is Secret Gardenia, which a white floral but done in quite a fresh way. I also really like Peau Santal, Myrica Muse and Le Jasmin. Scherzo is an amazing floral/oud but I really have to be in the mood for it as it’s so strong and long lasting. I’ve got a 10ml bottle which will probably last me a lifetime as I only need literally one spray at a time.

Zoetrope1 · 11/06/2025 21:31

Thanks Cornelia! Secret gardenia, Peau Santal and Scherzo are in the pack!

It’s a bit of a risk but there are red capped vintage bottles still available for sale on eBay and Etsy and the like. Fragrantica also lists youth dew as a similar fragrance but I’m unsure if that’s in comparison to the old or new formulation. I haven’t smelt either sorry!

Sorry, I can't help with your request, but I think a lot of established perfumes have become a shadow of their former selves due to reformulation to replace animal-origin ingredients with plant based or synthetic chemicals. On the one hand, I'm happy that animals aren't suffering and dying just so we can smell nice, but on the other hand I lament the loss of depth and longevity from most modern perfumes.
