Some samples on their way to me: Parfums de Marley Greenley, Memo Winter Palace, Obvious Parfums Milk + Matcha (think this is a rebrand of Un ete), Jovoy Remember Me, Guerlain Spirituesse Double Vanille, Un Nuit Nomade Nothing but sea and sky

Sounds wonderful

Graf Lesedi La Rona V1 today for me which is a love from the Harrods fragrance AC. Expertly blended vanilla floral.

Eagerly awaiting my maison margiela replica set which is due to land tomorrow.
Keen to try From the Garden although not sure if I will like it if it's heavy on the patchouli.

Stocked up as I burned through this last summer! A cheapie but I like it

Scent of the day part Four - the friendly perfumistas still perfuming!
HolidayHattie · 18/06/2025 15:38

Love Don't Be Shy by Kilian. Neroli is supposed to be one of the key notes, along with orange blossom and marshmallow, but i can't smell it at all.. On me, any freshness (there's also supposed to be bergamot) is totally lost in the sugary caramel and toasted marshmallow.

Might be OK in cooler weather, but it's not a summer scent for me - to the extent that I'm even considering scrubbing it off, which is sacrilege considering the price.

HolidayHattie · 18/06/2025 17:08

Update: I sprayed a bit of yesterday's lemon and neroli on top (should I say "layered"?) thinking that the citrus might lift it. Not entirely happy with the result. Maybe I'll mix it with a cherry scent next time for a cherry pie effect.

Magpiecomplex · 18/06/2025 18:33

4160T Aqua Tofana, fresh and inoffensive but a bit more interesting than a straight citrus cologne.

So excited to get this to try today. I am super impressed with discotheque! Never heard of it and bought on impulse When Cult beauty had 20% off plus you get a £10 voucher off a full bottle. I love the packaging - not that I ever smoked - but all the scents are themed around 90’s early 2000 nights out. I have to say I liked all of them - I would say 3/7 were def masculine 3/7 feminine and one in the middle. Even the masculine ones I liked. I am going to buy lola at coat check as a full bottle I love it - it is the first sandalwood based scent ive liked.

I got a free sample of Lola at Coat Check with an order, but I haven't tried it yet.

Eucalyptus 20 again today. I overstayed this last week and it really put me off the scent (and perfume in general!) for a few days. Have learnt my lesson - a light spritz only!

It’s very much sweet candy/marshmallow on me and too gourmand for heat
if you like it, it works well in cooler weather

HolidayHattie · 19/06/2025 16:03

SOTD is my recent Spanish purchase, Neroli Ecstasy by Adolfo Dominguez. Much more suited to hot weather than Love Don't Be Shy. Pear, Neroli and vanilla; what's not to like.

IDontHateRainbows · 19/06/2025 18:03

Replica From the Garden arrived. It's strange, but I like it. It's patchouli heavy which doesn't usually float my boat but this I like. Very earthy, tomatoey, photorealistic.

Also in the set is beach walk and lazy Sunday morning. Plus I got the 10ml of afternoon delight.

Ô De Lancôme today, this has a special place in my heart. A boyfriend first bought it for me when I was 17. He was 18 and bought it for me in Bentalls. He had it gift wrapped. Was a lovely guy.

Zoetrope1 · 20/06/2025 02:38

Memo winter palace on one wrist, Obvious milk + matcha on the other.

Winter palace is a warm, cosy, spicy scent - I’m getting candied orange, spices, tea and vanilla. It would be perfect for the winter holiday season. Really enjoying this one!

Milk + matcha opened with a very realistic
matcha latte scent. Not too lactonic for me either. The dry down is more generically floral. Very pleasant but I wish it stayed in the matcha latte zone.

paristotokyo · 20/06/2025 03:14

Le labo thé noir which is a favourite. But then I randomly saw vanilla 28 so spritzed that over the top impulsively. Two very different perfume houses, that’s for sure! It was nice though, surprisingly.

Zoetrope1 · 20/06/2025 03:52

@paristotokyo I can see that working! I love thé noir too and vanilla 28 is great for layering in general. A simplistic but well executed vanilla.

IDontHateRainbows · 20/06/2025 08:17

Tom Ford eau de soleil blanc. This is one for the neroli lovers for sure. It's just about ok for me. Got it on scent addict and won't be repurchasing.

I've also rediscovered ysl libre. Bought a bottle of this aaaages ago like 5 years ago and well before I became a frag head. Rediscovered it in a drawer and quite like it. Just as well as I have to rein in new perfume purchases. Ebay seems in a doom loop of ever decreasing traffic and vinted won't let you sell perfume as a business seller. So I'm not sure I have much of a route to market to continue my little side hustle of selling half of what I buy to afford it! Shame as it worked so well to start. But maybe I was getting greedy.

SOTE yesterday was Neroli Oranger by Mat Prem. Not so different from the many orange blossom/neroli scents I've been trying, but with a little extra something; not sure if that's the musk or the ylang ylang.

JamieFraserskneewarmer · 20/06/2025 17:10

Thanks for the recommendation - safran secret by crivelli is a hit!

Blingismything · 20/06/2025 17:50

Hermes Eau De Merveilles EDP today, an old favourite.

MiaN · 20/06/2025 17:54

Kaili Capri in bottle. It was like, not love for me but I am really enjoying it in the heat

IDontHateRainbows · 20/06/2025 20:42

Eau de soleil blanc is growing on me, and I didn't think I liked it at first. Maybe it's the weather.
Tried beach walk from the replica set. I like a nice salty vanilla a la vanilla vibes, this is similar but pretty weak. My noseblind nose can barely smell it. Reviews concur that it barely lasts, so not just me. Shame as it's a decent scent to begin with

Zoetrope1 · 20/06/2025 22:46

I like eau de soleil blanc, a nice sunscreeny coconutty scent.

Trying a couple of Miller Harris samples today - tea tonique and scherzo. Tea tonique is gorgeous, it reminds me of Wulong Cha and is perhaps a tad more feminine. A really beautiful citrusy tea scent.

Scherzo is a rose oud but a fresher and more modern take compared to say Portrait of a Lady. It’s not really me but I like it more than other rose ouds I’ve tried.

paristotokyo · 21/06/2025 04:06

Jo by Jo loves, which is fresh zingy grapefruit with em01 +ginger. Liking this combo

paristotokyo · 21/06/2025 12:57

This evening I’m testing le labo bergamote 22. It’s a small sample I found in my stash. Not really a fan though I was expecting to love it. It’s really soapy on me which isn’t my jam. One to pass on
