It is actually a dress (you may have seen me debating it at W/E). Comes just about to knees.

Worn over black wide legged trousers

Ah, bless!!! I think picture 1 looks fab.

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 09:49

righto, i've looked. you're not making it easy with those blooming sock lines but i agree that your legs aren't your best feature. (although ones that don't look like your legs have been lashed with fabric for 48-hrs previously might be useful as it's hard to see whether you might have a shape to your calf above the ankle, you twit. )

anyway, you REALLY need to make friends with your Mr Seamstress, i think he can help you dress really well.

like you say the skinny trousers are too short but in principle they do look the best, don't they? so more skinny-ish trews for you. but the skinny jeans aren't good unfortunately because it looks like they're too long (and, well, they need to showcase a good pair of pins imo if they're to work).

so... dress still too long and needs taken up, jeans need taking up possibly and the trousers may need taking in but sorting the dress might do the trick.

you have an arse, but in the right trouser that is yumlicious (i have no bum ). someone posted an outfit on here that you liked, a long-line top in red and white with more tailored wide trousers, i think that could be a great look on you, make everything point to your shoulders, neck and chest again, which are rather gorgeous imo.

Dottydot · 27/04/2008 09:52

Only just seen this thread - picture one - the one at the top - looks fab. And the bottom picture shows how skinny your neck/top of chest is - you look great!

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 09:53

Do you believe I am an 18 down below now though?

OP posts:
Dottydot · 27/04/2008 09:56

I'd have said a generous 16/16-18. Being a generous 20 myself, there's no way I could fit into your '18s'!

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 09:57

well yes, because of your bootyliciousness, but the good thing is that if you start getting the right shapes for you then no-one else will believe it either.

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 09:58

the best look is the opaques and heels

But I still think that you could do better - that top is not flattering

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:03

Right who is coming to the East Mids to dress me then?

OP posts:
Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:08

this?

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:09

this with good jeans and a white t underneath?

Nbg · 27/04/2008 10:10

Ok
I've read through most of this thread so i'm going to stick my two pence in.

I dont think the dress is great and neither are the trousers.
I'll be honest and say that your lesg might not be your best feature but like Aitch said, its hard to know what they look like as it looks like you've had string wrapped round your ankles for a week
Take another pic of your legs without sock marks.

However your torso is great. You have a great waist and norkage so you need to show it off.

This is what I think you should go with;

Wide legged denim linen trousers. This will flatter your leg shape and help around the waist. Plus its better than blardy black!

This is just an example but this is the kind of top you'd need to go for. If you picked red you could team it up with that neck scarf nailpolish linked to further down and it would give you that sailor look

Shoes, go for some wedges. They look great with wide legged trousers.

HTH and feel free to slap me if I've over stepped the mark.

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:11

something like this

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:11

On paper that looks too straight for me.

With straight dresses I usually end up having to buy big to accomodate the arse, but then the neck gapes and shows my minimal boobs.

If I am going straight I have to buy seperates.

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:14

this

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:15

this

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:17

Love both of those Nbg, no-one can overstep the mark here.

Love beety'e red top as well. Not sure about teh tank top from teh pic but would try it on and see how it fits. It comes back to teh fact the trousers I get gape at the waist so I need tend to go for longer tops to cover up the waistband.

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:17
