It is actually a dress (you may have seen me debating it at W/E). Comes just about to knees.

Worn over black wide legged trousers

Hows your stomach?

I know what you mean with the trousers.
My friend has real problems buying trousers.
She is a 10 everywhere but her bum is a 14. Everything else is really slim.

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:21

Surely I need something longer than Spanx?

Maybe I need a more permanent solution like this?

and this

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:21

this is fab

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:22

Thats the prob Nbg.

Bum/thighs are 18 (16 at a push). Waist is a 14.

Trying to find something to fit both is impossible

welll

If you want to lose weight then obviosuoy you need ot go down this route

However

Spanx are great at hiding and smoothing

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 10:23

those flat front denim trousers are exactly the sort of thing i was thinking of you in, actually. i'm not sure if jeans are the way to go if you don't have a good leg, i think more tailored so those are perfect. haven't looked at all of beety's as i must clear the dishwasher... [drudge]

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:23

LIking 90% of what Beety pulls up.

Have to go out now though....

OP posts:
Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:24

casual

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:25

Which flat ones Aitch? Nbgs?

I love them, but for hte right occasion. I don't need to be smart for work (can get away with Jeans), so would be looking for a special occasion to buy something like that.

OP posts:
Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:25

is this the way to go

Nbg · 27/04/2008 10:26

Go through the whole thread again, write down what you like thats on the high street and take yourself in and try them all on.

PITA yes but at least you'll know what fits you well.

Its a shame that simply be isnt on the high street.

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:26

Love that one beety (the casual crochet top as you have probably linked about 3 more in between)

OP posts:
Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:27

could order loads and try on at home and then send back?

Nbg · 27/04/2008 10:27

The thing with those SMS is that they can be casual with the right top and dressed up also.

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 10:27

no, that's not the point. you ditch the jeans because they don't flatter you, and go with the trousers FOREVER... mwah-hah-haaaaah. not everyone suits jeans.

AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 10:28

completely true, nbg. they are a brilliant pair of slacks imo, well spotted.
use them IN PLACE of jeans...

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 10:32

I didn't mean that Ido wear jeans for work. I rarely do as I find them uncomfy.

What I was trying to say is that is the level of smart/casual to aim at. Those trousers are too smart for my working environment (throwing chemicals around the lab - NOT LITERALLY OF COURSE!!!)

OP posts:
AitchTwoCiao · 27/04/2008 10:37

but they're only a thirty-quid pair of trousers, i don't understand... you can look for similar ones that are cheaper in the supermarkets and primark. the point is that they will suit you, not whether they're smart or not, iykwim? (i think they're deffo casual, as it happens).

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:38

agree about wallis ones

buy them now

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:42

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:44

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 10:45
