One thing that has made a difference

I thought it'd be nice to share with each other one thing that's made a difference to our style or beauty.

For me, it's been the use of nail oil. Really cannot believe the difference it has made to my nails and I've been pretty good at looking after my nails for years!

@Piccalillibs I get mine from hometeethwhitening.com, this crest brand get the most reviews. I've been using them years, they got my teeth white after the first go! They are imported from America where they are allowed to use more peroxide than UK can

Quick question - are these mint flavoured please. I can not use anything mint flavoured but really want to give them a try. I tried some uk whitening strips last month and they didn’t make much difference. Thanks 🙏🏻

@WetBandits tattooed eyebrows really are a game changer. I completely understand what you mean about your face looks finished.

@StasisMom it's more of a cosmetic tattoo which lasts up to 3 years. I did Microblading but it only looks good for a few weeks then I had to pencil them in as they fade too much which was a bit pointless. Now I wake up and my brows are there and ready to start the day Grin

Thanks @JerkintheMerkin I shall look into this!

@bey @Piccalillibs @StasisMom

Found this comparison pic I did, no filters used
My teeth had always been yellowish from teen years, never smoked or drank loads of coffee, just the natural colour I guess.

But feel much better now 😊

Wow yes, brilliant! Thank you!

Another Revitalash fan here (or other quality eyelash serum without prostaglandins, have used a couple of others too with good results) - I love eBay in its place, but I’d be worried this would be fake. Do you have a link to a specific seller that you’re sure of?

My other nominations are:

Boots Future Renew serum - have been using it for six weeks now, and has made a huge difference to sun damaged skin. Have now started using it on age spots on my hands too 😆 and within a week it’s really starting to fade out some quite large dark spots.

Hourglass mascara - the only one I’ve ever found that is guaranteed not to give me panda eyes.

Bugbabe1970 · 07/08/2024 08:49

Mounjaro - I’ve lost 16lb so far
stopped dying my hair (again) it’s nearly all back to my natural colour
changing jobs - done wonders for my stress levels

Hard to narrow it down but the things that have made the biggest difference to me are:

Hair - getting a keratin blow-dry every six months. It lasts easily in between appointments and my hair is now smooth rather than frizzy so I can just brush it each day and I'm done....no further styling needed.

Face - having my non existent eyebrows tattooed (topped up every 18 months or so) and getting a lash lift and tint every 8 weeks. It means I can wake up, put a bit of moisturiser and lip balm on and still look decent.

Skin - regular moisturising. I think consistency is more important than the brand you use. I moisturise my face religiously every morning and evening after I've brushed my teeth. I also put body lotion on after every shower or bath.... alternating between Nivea firming lotion with gradual tan and a Champneys one because I love the smell. I think alternating with the gradual tan one just gives me a healthy glow year round.

Food - an apple and a small handful of nuts every day for fibre, Omega 3 and other nutrients. Washed down with a large glass of water.

Diet - intermittent fasting on a 16-8 or 18-6 pattern so I eat between 12pm and 6pm or 8pm depending on what I'm doing that day. Black coffee, water or black tea only outside of those times. It is flexible enough for me to shift the timings around if I'm going out for a meal with friends for example but I feel less bloated, am sleeping better and have more mental clarity.

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 07/08/2024 10:33

I'm desperate to sort my wonky eyebrows out. Teen years over plucking have left their mark (now 60). Keep looking at the different methods but just really nervous of ending up with a pair of cats tails on my face!

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and it would have been great to have them sorted.

Disturbia81 · 07/08/2024 10:36

@Insidenumber09 No they don't taste of anything don't worry! Check the reviews too so you can see others who think same as me, crest do a few types but professional effects seem the most popular by far

Luminousalumnus · 07/08/2024 10:40

No patterns. Solid colours look much better on me. Never wearing more than three colours at a time. And ideally less.

Actually following an exercise plan that the physio set for me (as opposed to previous visits where I’d say I’d do it and then not). Cured my lifelong ‘bad knee’.

As a physio (who is also bad at doing as I’m told!) this makes me happy!

Asking the ladies who are saying they lost weight, what program/method did you follow to get results?

I didn't follow a programme but I changed my diet and exercise.
I have fruit and 100 gram greek yoghurt with a sprinkling of sugar free muesli (about 15 grams)
Lunch is chicken or tuna salad with a small amount of low fat dressing
snacks are apples/boiled eggs
The for dinner the usual spag bol, fajitas etc kid friendly food
I will treat myself to crisps/chocolate on a weekend and alcohol but am mindful not to have too much.
I workout 5 or 6 days a week with a mix of cardio and strength training but I prioritise strength training. Before I used to just run 3 times a week, strength training has made a massive difference.
I have lost 2.5 stone, reduced my fat percentage and increased my muscle percentage.
I also have creatine every day.

Weight loss...down from 13st 7lbs to 9st 9lbs...feel and look better than I've done for years, just cut out the junk and started eating healthily plus a few brusk walks and I cracked it, the real confidence boost has come from knowing that I had it in me to do it by myself with no help and that has boosted my erstwhile flagging confidence no end.

My babyliss big hair spinning brush

I can pretty much give myself a salon blow dry

I've had this for a few years and people always ask if I've just had a professional blow dry. It's so good - every woman in my family uses it now!

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 07/08/2024 17:25

HRT, eyelash serum, Marula oil added to my face cream, weight loss injections.

Thank you so much I’m going to buy these I was so worried they would be mint flavoured. Yay. Have a great day ❤️

Disturbia81 · 08/08/2024 10:15

@Insidenumber09 Aw you too, and no worries. They've totally changed my smile confidence and quite cheaply so I try and tell as many people as possible!

Getting my colours done. Now everything ..nearly..in my wardrobe suits my colouring so can grab things to wear easily. Also less clothes but easier to put outfits together. Stopped me buying stuff l never wore because it never looked good.
Thanks for all the tips!

Where did you get it done please ?

Palmers cocoa butter everynight as face 'cream'

Magic for the skin. I thought a colleague at work was 30 - they are 50!! He said he uses Palmers as his mum used it and she looks amazing!

And bio oil round eyes once a week to strengthen skin and try keeping wrinkles at bay.

Wow. This is amazing. I am very jealous. I need to do this, too.

The boxes I have received are sealed in the outer plastic. I've no way of knowing if they're fake - if they are, someone's gone to an awful lot of trouble just to sell an item for £20/30. Plus the fact that it works would suggest it's the genuine product! I buy from different sellers, not a regular one, all in the UK.

Once upon a time I had great legs. Amazing legs. They actually turned heads. Now I'm late 40s and despite eating well and exercising they are like a different pair Confused I've struggled finding denim shorts that are flattering and a few weeks short tried a couple of pairs in All Saints.

Well they are game changers. My legs actually look not so bad. Think it's a combination of high waist, just cut at the right point on my thigh, slight fringing and super soft denim. Pricey but cost per wear I'll have paid for them by the end of the end of the summer I reckon.

MattDamon · 09/08/2024 10:59

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz you can't post about these magic shorts without sharing a link.😁
