One thing that has made a difference

I thought it'd be nice to share with each other one thing that's made a difference to our style or beauty.

For me, it's been the use of nail oil. Really cannot believe the difference it has made to my nails and I've been pretty good at looking after my nails for years!

Revitalash. Had an unbelievable effect on my eyelashes.

JerkintheMerkin · 05/08/2024 04:12

Tattooed eyebrows. Found a lady who does amazing work to do mine and I can't stop looking at them. Absolutely love them. Strangely I can now apply eye make up better. Wasted years and money on Microblading and Rimmel eyebrow pencil. Never again.

AndAnotherThingToo · 05/08/2024 04:33

Oooh -thanks just ordered the revitalash -is getting amazing reviews!!!

Getting my hair professionally coloured after a few years of box dye. My hairdresser uses a similar colour but breaks it up with lowlights/ a few highlights and it looks so much nicer.

Createanewname · 05/08/2024 08:11

What does nail oil do? Mine would be actually planing outfits including shoes and accessories as a whole.

CaptainCrieff · 05/08/2024 11:06

Accutane

I had acne my whole life without realizing that I could have clear skin after just a year of pills. It is life changing to be able to go places without feeling disgusting or having to try and battle with various foundations to cover it.

Growing my short hair to shoulder length. I feel really glam!

howlsmovingbouncycastle · 05/08/2024 12:47

Going to see a dermatologist about my skin. Initial cost was £££, but I've kept up her suggested routine with similar products and it was worth every penny,

A year plus of being really consistent with tretinoin (via skin&me). Also castor oil over my skincare at night. V sticky but has definitely made a difference.

savvy7 · 05/08/2024 13:30

Castor oil did nothing for me. Mine is a good haircut.

PeachyKeane · 05/08/2024 13:32

Botox for me. Makes me look like myself again.

And the tret through skin and me, plus moisturiser at night then a layer of vaseline to seal it in.

Made nails noticeably stronger (and they weren't bad before), they grow very fast now and fewer/no cuticle splits. I work with my hands too so I'm impressed.

Do you have a specific brand you would recommend for the nail oil OP?

Lastminuteisinit · 05/08/2024 13:51

Yes which brand op! I’ve been underwhelmed with nail oils before but would love a good recommendation.

Consistency - if you do nothing else, cleansing properly and using moisturiser daily will give you far better results than constantly trying new products, overdoing it, damaging your skin barrier, falling asleep with your makeup on.

Aside from that, a good SPF that you use consistently.

doublecappuccino · 05/08/2024 14:02

Urban decay all nighter finishing spray - it makes my make up so much longer lasting and has a little glow to it

generalelectionfish · 05/08/2024 14:17

Philips Lumea. Hours and hours and £ and ££ spent on razors, waxing, hair removal cream... just wish I'd discovered it before some of the hairs went white and harder to zap!

CC222 · 05/08/2024 14:19

Vitamin D serum for my face, it's so hydrating and definitely gives my face a more youthful glow

This. Keeping yourself slim and not yo-yoing around either. Skin loses elasticity as you age and old flab isn't the same as young flab!!

emily012 · 05/08/2024 14:28

One thing that has made a big difference for me is using a good moisturizer every day. My skin feels so much softer and healthier now!

Keratin hair treatment I just look more polished without really frizzy hair.

Toastiemaker · 05/08/2024 14:57

10 to 20 push ups every day. Better posture, more defined waist, flatter tummy, toned arms. Free too!
Using a wide tooth comb on my hair instead of a brush. Goodbye frizzy hair!
