I thought it'd be nice to share with each other one thing that's made a difference to our style or beauty.

For me, it's been the use of nail oil. Really cannot believe the difference it has made to my nails and I've been pretty good at looking after my nails for years!

@VickyPollard25 pm me and I will give you the details. I saw this ladies page on Facebook and loved all of her work. I wake up every day and admire my new brows 😆

Good thread, thanks OP and contributers.

@KnittingKnewbie Just looked and it's actually vitamin C serum 😂 a brand called Biovène that I bought from justmylook

Gardenclems · 06/08/2024 19:55

Lash lift, totally changes how my face looks. I do a tint at the same time then don’t need to wear mascara

10 mins of exercise/Pilates a day - just a YouTube video when the kids are in bed or if I’m working at home - just makes me feel so much trimmer and more confident and I’ve never exercised much before

not drinking as much alcohol in the week - made my face less bloated

laser hair removal - underarms and my tash - got very bad after giving birth but cleared so quickly

Invisalign - spent a lot of time thinking about this and then saving but worth every penny

Could I ask which Pilates video you do? I’ve been looking for a good one x

Going grey and growing my hair out, its in such good condition, grows like a weed and is a gorgeous colour.
Vitamin C serum and moisturiser, really faded my brown sun spots on my face

OhshutupNancy · 06/08/2024 20:14

Another for botox.

I also had my front 4 teeth veneered a few years ago (not brilliant white) as my own teeth were jagged when they came through when I was a kid. It was worth every penny to have a smile I am not ashamed of.

Embracing my curly hair and getting a proper regime for it - I started straightening my hair at 20 and finally stopped last year at 40. When straightening my hair, I had to wash, blow dry and straighten every day. Now I wash it 3 times a week, use a shampoo and conditioner for curly hair each time, followed by a feeding lotion once a week, and a mousse and a gel after. Hair mask for 15 mins instead of conditioner once a week. On the other days I just wet it and scrunch in some gel. Air dry every day. My hair has gone from frizzy and lank with loads of ragged, split ends to a big, healthy bunch of curls (until I see rain 😂).

My hairdresser blew dry it straight a couple of weeks ago and it’s now halfway down my back!

Oh another game changer - actually letting stuff have time to soak into my skin. (Leaving a gap between serum, moisturiser, sun cream then make up)

Ooooohhh…and this!

I used crest whitening strips professional effects, costs £30 every 6 months and just stick the strips on for 10 days, 30 mins a time. They got my teeth from yellow to white! Don't pay expensive dentists

Where do you get these from please?

Disturbia81 · 06/08/2024 21:40

@Piccalillibs I get mine from hometeethwhitening.com, this crest brand get the most reviews. I've been using them years, they got my teeth white after the first go! They are imported from America where they are allowed to use more peroxide than UK can

Where do you buy them from please I'd be nervous of getting fakes. Do they make your teeth sensitive?

Disturbia81 · 06/08/2024 21:48

@bey check post above 😊 no never had problems with sensitivity, I'll try and find a comparison pic I did

Can someone share links to the right tretinoin and revitalash?

Also, Beauty Pie tubing mascara on my long Revitalashed eyelashes. 😉

Doesn't budge an inch all day, even in the heat, and comes off with warm water.

Best mascara I've ever used.

Disturbia81 · 06/08/2024 22:03

@bey @Piccalillibs @StasisMom

Found this comparison pic I did, no filters used
My teeth had always been yellowish from teen years, never smoked or drank loads of coffee, just the natural colour I guess.

But feel much better now 😊

Drinking 2.5L of cooled boiled water a day, no need for Botox!

Tretinoin
Micropigmentation (digital machine method) for my eyebrows

Accutane

I had acne my whole life without realizing that I could have clear skin after just a year of pills. It is life changing to be able to go places without feeling disgusting or having to try and battle with various foundations to cover it.

Accutane is amazing. My teenage daughter had really bad acne. Nothing worked; then 7 months of Accutane and her skin is perfect now.

It’s incredible isn’t it?

I could cry for my younger self that nobody through to take me to the dermatologist assuming I’d grow out of it. Then I worried about the cost. I finally am acne free at 37 (just in time for the wrinkles!)

All the opportunities I missed from being too ashamed to go out. I didn’t go to water parks with my friends or be in photos.

Hi I have sensitive teeth and I use the Crest whitening strips. When I applied as per instructions they did make my teeth super sensitive so I just use them more sparingly - one every few months.
