New thread. Woke (blooming cat) to find it’s nearly full.

@ScottishMouse - thanks for the undate on the Pumpkin scarf. That was what I was afraid of- only interested if vibrant.

ScottishMouse · 03/08/2024 14:57

@Stoic123 I mean, it is orange for sure, just not the usual stunning kind of Toast shade I would expect.

Stoic123 · 03/08/2024 15:23

@ScottishMouse - was hoping for the orange equivalent of the Celtic Blue which is a super stunning shade.

MiracleToast · 03/08/2024 17:12

Thanks for pebble detail @ScottishMouse such a shame. Glad you got yourself a lovely top

mizu · 03/08/2024 20:57

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout
@ScottishMouse I will definitely be visiting Edinburgh TOAST mid August as driving DD1 back up there and will stay a bit.

Cheltenham TOAST still not open!

ScottishMouse · 03/08/2024 21:01

Yay @mizu! Have you been to the Edinburgh Toast before? I think they have a good selection of stock, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful.
There are some other great shops & cafes to visit near Toast - I would recommend Dicks, Treen, Edinburgh Mercantile, Golden Hare Books, and Fortitude Coffee.

mizu · 03/08/2024 21:06

@ScottishMouse all these sound delightful and I will definitely take a wander down there - yes, I went in February and it was a great store.

ScottishMouse · 03/08/2024 21:08

It’s my favourite part of town @mizu. Enjoy!

mizu · 03/08/2024 21:43

Has anyone got or tried on this dress? Definitely my colours but not sure of the shape and whether it will be spectacularly unflattering!

Not new but not too long ago? Last season?

I have it @mizu . I thought it would be great for pulling on . But the weathers been really poor here and to my eyes looks wrong with a jacket. My longer coats also are imo too long for it so not got much wear. The collar is also very oversized. Looks great with the canvas waistcoat though!! It’s from the beginning of this season. It has a big hem which would be great for anyone tall if they needed more length.

@Countmeout thanks so much. Yes, wondered about the collar and it looking a bit austere perhaps.

Countmeout · 04/08/2024 10:11

I’ve toyed with the idea of taking the collar off @mizu . Although I’ve folded it in and that suits me better so may just continue to do that. I’ve relegated it to a ‘wear about the house when I’m not going out’ dress.

Does anyone have the Babbi sheepskin slippers? I love the look of them. I am looking to replace some Celtic and co sheepskin knitted booties.

I live the look of them and live in slippers at home. I love a cosy slipper

Stoic123 · 04/08/2024 11:02

@Zooeyzebra - not those ones. Have the Babbi Charentaise Slippers and they are my favourites of all time.

Zooeyzebra · 04/08/2024 11:13

Oh thank you, I’ll go have a look. Are they lovely and soft?

mizu · 04/08/2024 12:11

@Countmeout ok for £85 on eBay I do not need another TOAST wear round the house dress Grin

OftenOrange · 04/08/2024 13:24

@mizu The dress looks to be exactly the same as one I have in Chalk denim, I like it a lot especially with neck opened and a scarf / bandana inside .

OftenOrange · 04/08/2024 13:49

This Seersucker Flora dress from last year’s sale is proving to be a favourite, the fabric is lovely and reminds me of childhood.
It was one I dithered over keeping as the shape seemed a bit odd: fitted around the back yoke and under the arms but quite voluminous elsewhere, In fact I find I don’t care a hoot as it’s really airy; it’s 36 C every day here so wafty loose dresses are the best,
Laceup Fracap sandals from 4 yrs ago .

mizu · 04/08/2024 15:15

@OftenOrange thanks, I'm still unsure.

That seersucker looks amazing on you. I tried it on and it didn't look quite right as the length was more midi on me. Love the colours.

Stoic123 · 04/08/2024 16:03

@OftenOrange - seersucker looks great. Bet it looks fab with a bit of a tan (your arms look like they've caught the sun a nice little bit).

Been out all day, just seen this post. I have this dress and really like it, I found the collar sat better after a bit of judicious ironing. It’s my colour and a different shape for me than my other toast dresses. Sized down and no gaping over my (large) bust.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2024 18:27

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout 😀

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2024 18:28

Love the dress @OftenOrange

mizu · 05/08/2024 19:33

@Theteapotsbrokenspout do you mind telling me how tall you are and where it falls on you?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/08/2024 20:58

@mizu I'm 5' 4 and it falls to mid-calf . I bought a S.
