Will Stanley cups become the next "must have" in the UK?

Somewhat lighthearted! Grin

So, on TikTok/ Instagram etc, it seems that pink Stanley cups are the next big accessory! I must admit, they do look very pretty!

Who's buying one for their spring wardrobe?

You're a bit late to the party op!

Rafting2022 · 07/01/2024 00:09

And penicillin was discovered in 1928 so not a couple of generations ago.

Gowlett · 07/01/2024 00:13

No interest in the Stanley cup or Crocs.
But sign me up for the Full Briefs. Love big knicks!

ditalini · 07/01/2024 00:13

I was v intrigued by the title as I thought you were talking about replicas of the major ice hockey trophy for some reason.

Obviously been reading too many gay hockey romance novels (my personal trend in 2023) 😳

God no all that straw sucking is a recipe for wrinkles. I'd rather smoke a fag 😂

😂😂😂

DD has the light pink one. They're very heavy and my first thought was they feel like something for a building site. Over engineered if you like.

Surely a lightweight drinks bottle would be better to carry around in your bag.

It’s the must have tween accessory. Which means the cups mostly bigger than they are

Isn’t that exactly what they are designed for… building sites.
like dickies, they’ve suddenly become fashionable.

Pozz · 07/01/2024 00:19

Indeed! Big fuss about nothing tbh

Perhapsoneday · 07/01/2024 00:20

They already are here in America. If you’re aged 8-18 you’re required to have one! $45 for a flask! At least it made birthday gifts easy this year, and they love them.

Ostryga · 06/01/2024 22:41

They’re becoming passé rather quickly now so you’re a bit behind the trend op.

Not at all - since the car fire they’re hot property again. Selling out all over the place.

Pozz · 07/01/2024 00:27

This time next year..

StaunchMomma · 07/01/2024 00:28

I love mine. I like a huge water bottle but found the chubby ones really cumbersome and difficult to clean.

I also like the hot and cold element as I have to endure the freezing cold football practices/games all too often.

I didn't go for pink, tho!

I'm wondering how many Canadians clicked on this thread only to leave baffled.

LambriniBobinIsleworth · 07/01/2024 02:37

Are they thermal, so for hot and cold drinks? If so I just can't get my head around drinking a hot coffee through a straw. That's all I've thought whenever I've seen anyone drinking from one.

Terfosaurus · 07/01/2024 02:49

Just had a look at them on Google. I don't get it. It's a cup with a straw (that can also be used without the straw)
Why is that fun to drink out of? What's the point of it?

Micmoo · 07/01/2024 03:29

I’m in Australia and that rage for about 3 years is Frank Green. Same insulation, great range of colours but not a stupid size and without the stupid straw.

user1491396110 · 07/01/2024 04:07

They tested positive for lead so i will definitely be passing

RoseBucket · 07/01/2024 04:16

I thought these were the new must have early emerging trend, although who would spend this much!! https://www.lululemon.co.uk/en-gb/c/accessories/water-bottles

mathanxiety · 07/01/2024 04:24

Mirrormeback · 06/01/2024 22:30

They've been very popular all year due to TikTok popularity but they don't look leak proof and with the bottom being smaller than the top I don't get the point or love of them really.

This is to allow them to fit into your average car beverage holder.

mathanxiety · 07/01/2024 04:26

Should say average US car cup holder. But you can get an adapted fitting for your UK vehicle.

HerRoyalNotness · 07/01/2024 04:31

Apparently a Houston Target had cops on duty near the new Starbucks Stanley cups (the pink and red ones) everyone is flipping out over them, lining up before opening to get them as one used to do to get concert tickets 😂

I was just about to say that. Frank Green also bloody exxy though.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 07/01/2024 05:13

We were on holiday in the US in October and my DD bought one. - 40 oz Flamingo pink one which I think is / was hard to get over here.

She loves it as she drinks gallons of water and ice at home anyway so this keeps it cool.

InTheRainOnATrain · 07/01/2024 06:21

My 16YO niece got one for Christmas. Then realised it doesn’t fit in her school bag or the cup holders in her car (not UK). Then add in that report that it’s as bad for mouth wrinkles as smoking and it was actually the biggest ‘miss’ of all the presents.
