Have had the exfoliated, moisturised and slender baton passed to me tonight so here is the new thread as requested!
Hmmmm, I think the rules are:

  • Early bed, by 10.30pm if poss
  • staying off booze if possible, weekends exempt
  • Five a day and a healthy diet
  • Exercise - lots of us are ignoring using an Omron pedometer to attempt a good number of steps
  • Loving our trotters, most of us use Flexitol and a chisel
  • Taking care of our skin with 2l of water a day and a skincare routine (Liz Earle and Eve Lom high on many lists)
  • Staying happy

Welcome Iamdingdong, I saw you trundling through the Alps with Eric Sykes this afternoon (slacker's confession time, ds, dd and I watched Monte Carlo or Bust ) and all other newcomers

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is ready to wrestle Holy Week kicking and screaming to the ground until it begs for mercy!

I am turning over a new leaf tomorrow ( again)

marina · 16/03/2008 21:28

Me too, I undertook to get the ball rolling and sat there in a fug of theobromine trying to remember what most of the rules were...for a good ten mins! How is Vomitland now iota?

I'm not on here really as I'm too shite but if www pops up, I meant to post on her miserable thread last week but was a bit busy at work. Just remind her that it's a 4 day week this week and next week for me

ps caught an old Raven on TV today and thought of you marina!

foxinsocks · 16/03/2008 21:31

lol at for me. I meant for her (and me and everyone really!)

marina · 16/03/2008 21:33

LOL foxy, surely you know by now that being shite is no excuse for not posting

ds2 staged a speedy recovery on Friday, Marina, and is back to normal. Thanks for asking.

dh has skipped the country for a few days, so I am going hardcore next week.

Have a good short working week.

at size 12 trousers Sobernow. Haven'y you been living on redbush tea or something?

marina · 16/03/2008 21:42

So no post-Budget stampede to the offy for you then sobernow
I know you are enviably slender these days but I hadn't realised what a fab weight loss you'd achieved to get there [impressed emoticon]
I have something that looks worryingly like a little Parmesan grater for my hooves, but, like yours and Michelangelo, not as nice

fessing up:
got v drunk last night at what was always going to be a boozy dinner party (allegedly 17 empty wine bottles were kicking about this morning..there were 8 of us for dinner )

so have spent entire day in bed (after mid morning upchuck) and just surfaced for pasta, first cup of tea of the day and a little light MN. even managed to make girls some pancakes..

obviously this all means that i'm going to be Righteous this week

yeahhhhhhhh

actually before i went out last night I did exfoliate and have some Liz Earle cleanse & polish (freebie from one of dh's outings) in bathroom.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/03/2008 22:24

I've run today but apart from that I'm joining rebel in the naughty corner.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/03/2008 22:26

Oh bundle. Sympathy. I hate being hungover (but not enough to abstain).

bundle · 16/03/2008 22:28

me too saggar..am wondering how long it will be before i finish that half drunk bottle of cava in fridge...despite thinking Never Again....right now

Evening all. Too many transgressions of the cheese variety today but will do better tomorrow (except I am out for dinner with a known lush. Oh dear)

See you tomorrow

hello all, I'm in again. Marina, lol at your title!

bamamama · 17/03/2008 09:04

morning all. Just checking in to report a relatively quiet weekend although there was quite a lot of wine involved.
Saturday night we went to the fireworks that are organised every year by a local radio station. 130,000 people sat round the lake with their radios whilst the station broadcast the selection of aussie 'popular tunes' that the fireworks were set to. All good fun really. We had a bottle of wine and ds was most taken by the loud bangs and explosions!

Yesterday went for a lovely lunch and tastings at a couple of wineries, I remained pretty sober as I never think drunk-in-charge-of-a-toddler is a good look (esp during the day) but enjoyed several glasses of what we bought in the evening.

I'm detecting a hint of rebellion this week on this thread, I take it Marina we can rely on you to come down hard on those not pulling their bootcamp weight?

Just marking new thread - thanks for that Marina. Where's L&S got to? Wow at Sobernow! Welcome mmm.

feetheart · 17/03/2008 13:59

Quite a quiet w/e in our house compared to some
Went to a Murder Mystery dinner at friends' on Friday. It was good fun though very last minute, next time we will do the whole dressing up thing I think - only chance I'll have to wear a posh frock!
Spent Saturday helping out at NCT sale, sold our stairgates (so definitely the end of an era!) and managed to get DS (2) a bike. He has been desparate to ride his big sister's for months but isn't long enough to reach the pedals. Feeling that my step count may see an marked improvement as we mow down dog-walkers in the park

Marina - think you have the edge on me with Bridezilla SiL but for sheer persistant, low-level annoyance mine must win hands-down.

Managed to twinge my back yesterday morning so think I'll give the hula-hooping a miss today, maybe concentrate on drinking more water instead as I'm still rubbish at that.

TheQueenMother · 17/03/2008 19:19

Hello, can I join in please?

Lovely weekend but lots of wonderful food consumed:

Sunday was bacon, 2 sausages, fried egg on toast, walk in some woods, rare roast beef, yorkshire puddings, carrots, broccoli, green beans, peas, parsnips, roast potatoes (but only 1 as I didn't do a v good job and they were soggy), gravy, red wine, late ish night but heavenly time with dh and the children were gorgeous all weekend, so I'm very happy. It was like a boden ad in our house but better.

today, I worked at home and so had boiled egg and toast with loads of butter, rare roast beef and horseradish sandwich, oh and warm treacle tart frmo the farm shop and clotted cream (and had that as pudding on Sunday), oh I'm sounding like an Enid Blyton book! Still, all very nice and we are about to have spaghetti bolognase and red wine.

AND, and, and, I have re negotiated with my boss and asked for more cash and she is hopeful that she can give me a more cash AND less hours combo, which would be fab. She has to go and talk to some people to see if she can get me more money but she said "you're in a great negotiating position" (my contract up shortly, and I haven't agreed renewal. She also said "if I can't get more money out of the budget would you consider same money WITH less hours?" and I said "maybe, let's see on the money first" so fingers crossed xxxxxxx
