Have had the exfoliated, moisturised and slender baton passed to me tonight so here is the new thread as requested!
Hmmmm, I think the rules are:

  • Early bed, by 10.30pm if poss
  • staying off booze if possible, weekends exempt
  • Five a day and a healthy diet
  • Exercise - lots of us are ignoring using an Omron pedometer to attempt a good number of steps
  • Loving our trotters, most of us use Flexitol and a chisel
  • Taking care of our skin with 2l of water a day and a skincare routine (Liz Earle and Eve Lom high on many lists)
  • Staying happy

Welcome Iamdingdong, I saw you trundling through the Alps with Eric Sykes this afternoon (slacker's confession time, ds, dd and I watched Monte Carlo or Bust ) and all other newcomers

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is ready to wrestle Holy Week kicking and screaming to the ground until it begs for mercy!

murder mystery sounds fun, I've been to those where you dress up + posh hotel, good fun

L&S, have you given birth?

iamdingdong · 17/03/2008 19:46

ok have been pretty good today, must be the influence of having to come here and fess up! muesli, juice, coffee, sweet & sour turkey, rice, mixed veg (school dinner, but nice!) chicken salad with pine nuts and a couple of bread sticks for tea but even more impressively, no wine haven't had as much water as I shouldm but will rectify this in the next hour or so, then spend the night getting up and down to the loo

hey momma, nice to see you here too!

Hi all, just checking in, had a good day, eaten only fruit , lots of walking, and also intensive cleaning of our house, so our house is clean and tidy and I should be thinner. Hurrah!

AND....MNHQ have agreed to give us a chicken topic, so am very pleased with them!

TheDuchyEggOfNorksBride · 17/03/2008 20:20

Nice to see ding & mmm haven't fled yet.

t/shell - hurrah for chickens! I'll be starting a broody hen thread (if I ever get one).

8,000 steps and horrible mucking out, heavy barrows and sludging about in very deep mud which must equal a gym-workout (iota - did you go?!?). At least I was able to do it today and not wuss out like yesterday.

I have eaten a cheese scone, ham & coleslaw sandwich, biscuit, raw carrots, orange, some leftover cuttings from a coconut cake that's being sold at pre-school tomorrow and as yet no dinner. Lots of water, only one coffee.

Face & handcream yes. Happy yes. Feet no. DH is supposed to be bringing more Crabtree & Evelyn back from town tonight, if he remembers I'll be doing body cream and getting a massage. If not, he can sleep with the dog.

unknownrebelbang · 17/03/2008 21:35

Hello everyone.

Where's www? (and anyone else who might be missing?

  • Early bed, midnight last night.
  • No booze, although DH bought me some lovely cider over the weekend.
  • Five a day and a healthy diet. Hmm. Well I packed up some salad and fruit to try to counteract the weekend.....only to leave it at home so ended up with shop sandwich, chips at work because I worked so late, and chocolate because I rushed straight to cubs...
  • Exercise - 15 mins bike and walk home from school.
  • Loving our trotters, lax.
  • Taking care of our skin with 2l of water a day and a skincare routine - done!
  • Staying happy. Well I've had a long long day, but but but it's my last day for a fortnight, so yippee!

My boss was as good as his word, and he has put something in my appraisal about the need for additional flexibility v. getting the job done.

He also stated that I was "absolutely trustworthy" which fair made my day.

OK, in the nominal absence of www, drop to the floor and gimme five (Divine mini-eggs).
Ureb, I feel her presence here...somehow
Goodish day so far. Compared to own abused scales at home (dd constantly weighing her dolls) have actually lost 3.5 kilos (not 6 )since last weigh in but GP is v. pleased and I am to keep on keeping on.
So am celebrating with a skinny vanilla latte (cheers torty ).
Hope you got your beauty products and massage duchess, for the poor dog's sake as much as anything
Well done on being soberstill and HOW ARE YOU FEELING NOW BUNDY?
I don't see anything wrong with a baby wipe every now and again mmmmomma! What's good enough for our PFBs' rears etc...
Great news about the chicken topic and the fruit consumption torty, and your school lunches sound better than the pigswill we were given iamdingdong
Fabulous news re your new contract ma'am. will you be celebrating with a glorious pink chiffon ensemble and matching hat?
Murder mystery night sounds fun feetheart and so do the fireworks bama (it is parky and breezy in the UK today )
Feet have been neglected somewhat lately but other than that am on track with water and other potions plus healthy eating, but a bit off course with sufficient walking.
Batters, I too will have to be resourceful over the next two weeks as I will have beady dd and pre-teen ds dogging my every move

Good morning all!

Apologies for extended leave of absence; have been lying on the sofa like a beached whale, but making more of a fuss than whales tend to, I believe. Still up duff, due on Thurs so cross your fingers for me - I am sooooo over being pregnant ...

Bootcamping-lite at the moment (though have been swimming most days as it's the only thing that's still comfortable - good to feel like a refloated whale from time to time ), but have been eating quite healthily - veg soup and pasta, anchovies and broccoli, yesterday, with a few essential flapjacks and biscuits thrown in.

TQM - that is really amazing news on the work front - crossing fingers for you - updates as and when, please! And ureb, sounds like your work stuff is going v well too ...

OK, time to waddle off to the pool. Should any of you happen to see a tired looking woman dragging a ginormous bump around the Clissold leisure centre, please wave ...

Ooh and Marina, I'll take my five mini-eggs, and five for said bump, too, if I may

marina · 18/03/2008 10:09

I was about to trawl the ante-natal and birth announcement threads for you LAS, good to hear from you. Enjoy your swim and consider yourself fully egged IYSWIM. We do of course expect you to post with regular updates once the balloon goes up

OP posts:
unknownrebelbang · 18/03/2008 10:31

oh ffs, I really ought to pay more attention.

rofl.

bamamama · 18/03/2008 10:33

ooooh, L&S our first birth count down of the year. I went 2 weeks over so I hope you 'go' thursday as any day over the due date is really annoying! Good luck, all the best and all that. Have you considered blogging from your labour suite?

Marina - does 'meat hewn from stray dogs' count as bootcamping? (sorry, noticed this on another thread and it made me lol).

Will post later (or tomorrow). Currently drinking a glass of rose (please remember time diff before judging!) so don't feel I'm on good bootcamp behaviour. Sobernow, how are you doing the no drinking when there's plenty in the house thing???

Iota · 18/03/2008 10:39

Has bundle recovered from her hangover yet?

Yes I did go to the gym yesterday and ate healthily appart from a few squares of G&B choc. I have turned over a new leaf. Nice to have roalty visiting us - we were obvioulsy slumming it with only a Duchess

tortoiseSHELL · 18/03/2008 11:23

Oh good luck L&S - hope it's not much longer for you! x

LoveAndSqualor · 18/03/2008 12:32

Thanks v much for good wishes! Bama, am so hoping I don't go over, but pretty much assuming that I will - do you have any tips on how to pass the loooooong hours?

Back from pool - blissful. But had to make a swift about turn when wandering into cafe for post-swim hot chocolate and read of paper when I spotted Colleague To Whom I Have Nothing to Say sitting with his offspring in front of the sandwich display ...

Now then, advice if you please. In the 4ft patch of earth garden at the front of our house, we have a rather lovely magnolia, which is flowering all over the place at the moment. Obviously, this means that petals fall into the street. It never occurred to me that anyone would mind this, but when I left the house on the way to the swimming pool, I saw that someone had chalked - in big letters, think a foot high - 'messy magnolia' on the pavement in front of our house!! I was initially , then and am now plain . But tell me: have I been neglecting a civic duty by not sweeping the petals up? Or am I right in thinking that Someone on my street is being a) rude and b) very very weird?! Bootcampers, I will be guided by you.

Off to eat a terribly organic chocolate muffin to help me get over the shock. On the plus side, I can see out of the window as I'm typing this and there's a fine specimen of urban fox having a nap in the back garden!!

marina · 18/03/2008 12:45

Oh, tough call re the magnolia! Is is a grandiflora or a stellata (big fleshy petals vs thinner, lighter, straplike ones)
I live in the "Is the Mitsubishi scratched yet" zone 4 wasteland, and yes, tutting goes on if you let your frontage get overwhelmed with wet leaves/sticky petals. But I thought one of the perks of inner-city living was that you could leave a burnt-out car outside your front door without attracting so much as a murmur
I would probably sweep the pavement and then chalk in "officious neighbour" underneath
