SOTD is 4160T's Rhubarb & Custard. This is a mega-gourmet, both sweet and sour, and imo absolutely delicious. You need to be happy to smell like pudding, though 😆

Mini review of this - Jousset’s Imperial Harem. I’ve now ‘lived’ this one in so I feel able to comment on it. It’s probably the richest and most heady Amber I’ve ever encountered. Although it’s not listed as a note, I get a strong incense vibe to this, I can imagine smelling this in both an Eastern Orthodox Church and in the Topkapi Palace. That would be the Peru balsam, which weaves in and throughout it. I definitely pick up the antiquity aspect of it, more Byzantine than western Roman though. It’s rich and it’s powerful, and although it’s apparently unisex I would say it leans heavily feminine. It’s spectacular, and it’s immediately landed on my ‘must have forever’ list.

I'm working my way through the perfumes I'm e baying. I'm really enjoying the Annick Goutal eau d' hadrian edp again. I wore this for years as my signature in my 20's. But it's changed & the cypress note doesn't smell the same. But the 🍋 is still vibrant & the cypress smells better in the warmth. So I think I'll keep it. I'm so fed up of people sending me crazy low offers.

How I wish I had an SOTD. You all seem to know about things I've never heard of. The perfumes I always have are: Estee Lauder's Modern Muse, eau de parfum, Dior's J'Adore, Gucci Bloom, Lancome Idole and Cartier's La Panthere for evenings.

I feel somewhat stumped since our local department store closed and it's no longer possible to have a spray of this and that. In Boots everything's kept in a locked cupboard.

Are there common themes to my choices or are they just so mainstream it's utterly boring. I have tried some of the Tom Ford ones but I'm not sold
