And I will email the thread to a few companies and see if they will do something about it.

There are threads about this so often that there is clearly a market for it.

All suggestions gratefully welcomed.

So, I will start

I think that something in a smartish waterproof but breathable fabric (must be washable) with the following;

Style - A choice of plain straight, belted straight or A-line.

Colours - Black, Brown, Navy, Biscuit, Cream. Also seasonal colours would be good I guess.

Hood - Option of detatchable or not

Lining - zip out washable padded lining so you can wear on the tube to work without sweltering and zip it in when you go out in the cold. Choice of plain or patterned would be ideal.

Pockets - decent sized with a closing flap thing to fill with tissues and random crap

franch - how can you say your campaign came to no avail? I expect the "rainy-day coat" was entirely down to you...

Cappuccino · 22/01/2008 11:03

no hatwoman oh dear

we need a fleece lining

and we need to be able to pull the hood in in order to be sexually repressed

Cremolafoam · 22/01/2008 11:06

yes the boden one is not warm enough for very cold day and the hood is too big.needs to be more adaptable than that one.we want unzippable fleece and a hood that fits. also too£££.needs to be much more affordable IMHO

hatwoman · 22/01/2008 11:10

fleece lining? sorry but you can't look stylish in fleece. if it's cold enough for fleece linings then what's wrong with a good wool coat (wool is essentially waterproof - you don;t see sheep with umbrellas) ). no, macs are slim-line, flat fabric for not cold but wet days. they just need hoods. when it's cold and wet you need smart wool coat. with hood. (quite possibly also rare) you can't get everything into one single coat

hatwoman · 22/01/2008 11:13

and anyway I though sexual repression was instant when you donned Boden. Johnny wouldn't have it any other way. women of child-bearing age sexual? heavens no.

CountessDracula · 22/01/2008 11:18

I haven't collated yet
I have emailed the thread to muddypuddles though

I'll second no fur around the hood. I'm so sick of eating mine.

Also no big-heads hood. Whose head goes back 3 feet anyway?

Walnutshell · 22/01/2008 11:20

"And with a hood that's not so stiff that if you turn to chat to someone at the side, your coat is still staring rudely ahead."

ROFL at onebat

Cappuccino · 22/01/2008 11:35

hatwoman I don't want to stand in the rain in a perfectly good wool coat

wool coat fine in a drizzle. Not in downpour.
