And I will email the thread to a few companies and see if they will do something about it.

There are threads about this so often that there is clearly a market for it.

All suggestions gratefully welcomed.

So, I will start

I think that something in a smartish waterproof but breathable fabric (must be washable) with the following;

Style - A choice of plain straight, belted straight or A-line.

Colours - Black, Brown, Navy, Biscuit, Cream. Also seasonal colours would be good I guess.

Hood - Option of detatchable or not

Lining - zip out washable padded lining so you can wear on the tube to work without sweltering and zip it in when you go out in the cold. Choice of plain or patterned would be ideal.

Pockets - decent sized with a closing flap thing to fill with tissues and random crap

can it have fleece lining?

I hate it when it is cold and wet and you want to wear warm coat but warm coat is not waterproof and waterproof is not warm

also I would like a red one

with a belt because I have a waist

Cappuccino · 18/01/2008 11:21

this one is nice

it would be even nicer with hood

I would like to shake the hand of whoever mentioned drawstring hood so it doesn't blow off

may I also add small sound amplifiers in hood so you can still hear what your kids are moaning about when you have it on

they are just a muffled noise to me in my ugly Lands End squall parka

They smell.

Basically I want a french-looking raincoat with fleece lining, detachable hood, but with good pockets. This is probably what Enid has.

I bought a great raincoat once, without a hood, which flared out and had buttons. It was fab.

Oh good - get them to do it for spring.

I have wrist strain from pushing the pram with an umbrella and it keeps swinging into the road.
