I usually shave mine (and my legs) in the summer but only once or twice a week. My body hair is light orange so it doesn't show up all that much! I don't do it at all in winter except possibly if I'm going to wear a sleeveless dress on a special occasion. I do go swimming all the year round but I'm not in the least embarrassed about being hairy for that - it's only when I'm fully dressed that I start caring about other aspects of my look!

Nah.

I remember in the 90s reading an interview with Justine Frischmann where she talked about why she didn't shave her armpits (male interviewer, obvs, and it's interesting that body hair was never an interview topic for the men of Britpop, but I digress). She said she loved her body hair and was considering approaching companies to use the it as advertising space - shaving a Nike logo into her pit hair, for example. I thought she was so cool and wished I had the confidence to not shave but in the 90s I absolutely didn't. I'm in my late 40s now and haven't bothered for about a decade. I doubt I'll ever be as cool as JF though!

@InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest

lasered legs, Hollywood wax, shave pits in shower every day. Eyebrows every few weeks. Used to wax my forearms too. I'm not terribly hairy but I find hairy pits, legs, etc gross.
It's nice to have smooth skin, I always did and I really liked it, felt clean and comfortable. Now I'm 'old' the unwanted hair doesn't grow so much or at the same pace.

I do when I wear a top which requires it or go swimming

So about every week in summer once or twice a month in winter.

Should say I have suspected PCOS and therefore perhaps hairier than most

I prefer not to shave mine. I shave them when I think they look a little too long, but only because I worry about what people at work will think when I am wearing tops where you can notice. I wish I didn't give a shit, but they always get to a point where I feel too self-conscious in the summer then I cave in and shave them.

In winter I won't shave them at all.

@Viviennemary

Yes. Its unhygenic and gross not to and looks horrific.
Well this is plain weird.
EmmaGrundyForPM · 17/08/2021 11:55

Yes, but not regularly. Maybe once a fortnight? I don't bother with my legs, the hairs there are very fine and blonde so they aren't very visible
