Cod the consumer....... checks out...LIP GLOSS

CodDickinson · 16/11/2007 17:45

ok this a new weekly thread that will be amalgamated into the mail out( i'm told) so we can all have a good ol' shufty at certain products.

Are aiming to change it every week( maybe at the weekend so you cna pop into the shops and have a look yourseves) and subject - wise go from the sublime to the ricidulous.

So whether its nail varnish or Knickers we WILL SUSS IT. Together.. Amen.

what we need is your opinions on ech product and if you are willing to try out a new product then PLEASE join in and buy it( any excuse eh?) and then we will set up some kind of testing parameters.

so this week is lip gloss, we are looking for :

  1. Quality of packaging /10
  2. Colour choice
  3. depth of colour
  4. longevity ( this'll be fun testing this)
5 scent
  1. wow factor - does ANYONE even notice.

so that out of 60.

Im going to buy a mid range one i think - maybe Boirjois to get us off to a start.

If you are doing an existing one please look at the colour choices as they are now, not when you bought it in 1992.

EW.

Hang on I'll have to find it. (DD2 (2) is a gloss fan as well and I have to hide it from her and decoy her with some Body Shop junk.)

Yeah it is a bit plummy. Fairly subtle and shimmery, but gorgeous to wear.

RubySlippers · 19/11/2007 10:34

well it's lip gloss
not sure about what wow factor means

It does puff your lips up and look nice

nangnangnang · 19/11/2007 11:49

Sorry, only catching up with earlier posts now but had to say BEWARE anyone buying by terry from space nk website - I got a lippy a few weeks ago and the colour bore no relation to the swatch. I wanted plum and got fuschia. Felt lovely, looked hideous, cost a fortune.

RubySlippers · 19/11/2007 12:09

return it Nangnang - they are usually very good even if it has been used

Monkeytrousers · 19/11/2007 13:49

Should one wear lip gloss over the age of 35, that is what I want to know..un;ess one has has some serious 'work' done and can pass for a decade younger?

CodDickinson · 19/11/2007 13:57

yes

Right am sending yours Cod. (I hope this Cod the Consumer malarky is not going to involve a great deal of personal shopping. It'll be bread makers next and I'll be scurrying all over looking for the Six Best to send. ).

I bought a Laura Mercier one for testing. Shall try it out when going out tonight. Am particularly interested in getting a high mark in Wow Factor category.

Monkeytrousers · 19/11/2007 14:03

To a non-augmented 35 year old you mean?

My hair always gets stuck in lipgloss aswell. Any tips?

CodDickinson · 19/11/2007 14:03

ooh yes what shade is it?the LM one
you are a fba perosnal shopper

di oyu overhear any good conversation>

OP posts:
JeremyVile · 19/11/2007 14:10

I had 2 really cheapy lipglosses that are probably my favourites (and I spend a ridiculous amount of money on glosses) but I cant find proof that either of them are sold any more
They are both clear with silvery shimmer and gorgeous on bare lips and smoky eyes. I shall check next time I'm at the shops.

CodDickinson · 19/11/2007 14:10

I NEED TI BY WED

JeremyVile · 19/11/2007 14:13

OK.
Did you se the thread with the vid of the girl doing her make up? It's fascinating.

ahundredtimes · 19/11/2007 14:13

No, I think I was overheard. I over stayed my welcome in Space NK because I like it there, it's all warm and clean. We discussed gloss v. plumpers. Was goood.

Shade is bronzed berry.

Also got a little distracted by the Bobbi Brown counter. They sell these lipstick and lip gloss palettes. Ver narce.
