I've placed my first Stitch Fix order!

Been thinking of trying this for a while, as I've felt in need of some style inspiration.
My parcel is due for delivery on 3rd April, but I think I get to know what's in it before that: I've said that I'd like a Spring dress for upcoming pub lunches.
Excited now.

@SkeletonSkins I love the items you got. They’re lovely. I was disappointed with my first fix - one nice dress but the other stuff was either items I already have similar of or could pick up similar for less (a Breton top).
They also sent a hideous print top with ruffle sleeves after I said I hate ruffles on sleeves.

Hepzibar · 10/06/2021 07:35

Just received my first Stitch Fix box. I told them I was a 'Spring' colour palette and the colours were spot on. All items were nice. The dress had capped sleeves which didn't suit me and was a bit baggy on shoulders and arms, a lovely pair of black trousers (safe) but didn't fit. A teal top which the shape and style were perfect but the sleeves and top were chiffon which put me off.
The 2 items I am keeping are a cotton green print top and pink skinnies (lovely fit).
So pretty happy with first box.
Lookerio due this week too, will report back on that.

MsAnnFrope · 10/06/2021 09:49

After loving my first order and keeping it all I'm sending everything back this time.
A top which was a lovely fit but really synthetic feeling materials. a bag when I asked for no bags. A skirt which no right thinking human would put a short arse with big hips in and trousers which were ok but too long.
woe is me! But at least it saved me money. Do I give them another change or switch to lookiero?

SorryAboutTheTypos · 10/06/2021 11:38

My latest fix was a disaster. I don’t know if I described my shape wrong in the questionnaire as everything was unflattering. I’ve decided not to try again .

Emanchego · 11/06/2021 12:58

I've been checking out the hashing on instagram seeing what people get, it all looks a bit ordinary to me? Basic everyday looking tops, skinny jeans you could find on the high street etc.

Pootle40 · 11/06/2021 13:29

I just received my latest box and really liked it. Last month was a disaster. I am reducing subscription to every second month or I'm going to have too many clothes!

Dellabob123 · 11/06/2021 14:31

Checking in to update you all on my lookerio box which arrived early. I went with them after the last stitch fix was awful.
So, I was pleasantly surprised, I have to say.

I got a beautiful navy summer top, which is a keeper. Stretchy shaping skinnies that actually fit my leg length...but the word on the street is that skinnies are over??..

A joules top- nice but very roomy - prob too big.
A denim jacket which is lovely quality and great fit. It in a cream colour which I just would t wear.

But, they did supply a godawful top - big ugly floral in hideous fabric that I didn’t even bother trying on.

But the navy top is a joy..I’m going to wear it now!! It’s a lot cheaper than stitch fix and less option to set budget, so may include a note if I get another!

MsAnnFrope · 11/06/2021 16:24

Hmmm I think I might cancel my next fix and try lookiero

SkeletonSkins · 11/06/2021 16:50

@Dellabob123 by cheaper do you mean the items of clothing tend to be on the less expensive side? That might interest me!

I really wanted a go at Stitch Fix after reading this thread 😅 I'm 32 but put my age as 30 (not that it would make much difference 🤷🏻‍♀️)
Just had my preview and rejected everything! I still feel it's all just so middle aged, for want of a better phrase.
I think I'm doing it to prove myself wrong and they'll choose something I want or like!
Oh and they put a Vero Moda boatneck jumper in my preview, obviously

SorryAboutTheTypos · 11/06/2021 20:26

Does anyone have a lookeiro code I can use?

FourTurnings · 11/06/2021 21:22
SorryAboutTheTypos · 11/06/2021 22:10

@FourTurnings I used it - thanks.

FourTurnings · 11/06/2021 22:31

Pleasure sorry

Dellabob123 · 12/06/2021 08:16

Hi @SkeletonSkins , yes, the value of the individual items were a heck of a lot cheaper. But the wierd thing is, on the profiling, you only get to input what you’d spend on a dress...so maybe it’s linked.

I will do another lookerio and I’ll up my dress budget and see what difference it makes.

QuentinBunbury · 12/06/2021 09:27

I used it too, thank you

Beeboopbop · 12/06/2021 23:03

I'm 36 and had to put I'm 26 on my profile. When I gave my real age they sent me clothes that my mum wouldn't wear as they would make her look old. My advice with these things is always knock 10 years off.
Lan2020 · 14/06/2021 22:38

Has anyone complained to stitchfix and got their styling fee back? I appreciate the stylist can't always get it right but she's completely ignored me.
I asked for a stripe linen dress. A round neck jumper in off white. Summer dresses. Less mauvette. A little black dress and cream blazer.

I've got a slash neck pure white jumper (3rd time they have sent pure white and I've told them not to each time).
A jersey casual black dress
Some random floral blouse that I didn't ask for and some other hideoua item.
I aksed for.less mauvette and 3 out of 5 items are mauvette.

I also always get t-shirt dresses and animal print in my preview or actually sent to me, despite not wanting it!

Candleabra · 14/06/2021 22:48

I didn't get my fee back but I did get another box immediately free of charge (no styling fee I mean)

Lan2020 · 14/06/2021 23:49

@Candleabra thanks for the reply. I'd be happy with another box. I just feel that if you get the opposite of what you ask for, it's a complete waste! It also annoyed me that in my preview I got an animal print top costing £65 (when I stated so many times and in capital.letters that I don't want animal print) when I looked for the top online, it's currently available for £25 online!

Candleabra · 15/06/2021 08:30

Totally! I had about 8 boxes in total. I was actually quite pleased with the first couple but they got steadily worse. I definitely got the impression they were offloading all the old stuff as it had no correlation with my style preferences. The last box was truly terrible - everything I'd said no to: blsvk, polyester, heels ....yes they ticked every box.
Shame, as I liked the idea, I still think there's a market for it, and their admin (sales and returns) was excellent. Oh well.....back to shopping normally!

ashmts · 15/06/2021 12:09

I'm really torn, I'd decided that box was going to be my last box when I ordered but then I kept all 5 items! So I'm tempted to try again, but I do agree that it seems like they're trying to push old stock, and you can find the odd items cheaper online. Last time I got the 20% discount for keeping everything so that made it worth my while but if you just like one or two things you could be better off sending it all back and ordering direct.

I follow one of their stylists on Instagram and she's said if you want her you just request it. I feel a bit bad switching stylist when I've actually got on okay with this one, but I really like this other girl's style. Has anyone switched after a few boxes? Was it a good/bad choice? I'm worried it might put me back to square one with them getting to know what you like as my boxes have improved every time.
